How and should I get a job at 14 years old?
I think it's a great idea. Any kind of job that a kid can get, make money, learn responsibility, and how to keep the job, is a great primer for what's coming up in a few short years.When I was 14, I had a paper route. The only legal jobs that I could get at 14 was farm work. I picked tobacco for a Summer, and 33 years later, that was still my hardest job.Since I wasn't a big fan of that work, I went around town looking for an under the table job That I could get. A restaurant owner hired me as a dishwasher and paid me cash off the books.I loved the fact that I always had cash in my pocket, I could set goals with saving my money for big things, and it all set me up with a solid work ethic for when I hit the labor force full time.Any kind of job you can get and keep at 14 is worthwhile and will help you grow.What's also really great is if you can figure out how to be entrepreneurial and make money with a service you provide, or buy and sell stuff that you can make a nice profit on.There's lots of lessons about life in all of it, and I definitely encourage any and all of it for a 14 year old.Just make sure you keep your studies up at the same time.

You need to look to your neighbors for jobs babysitting, doing chores, walking the dog, dogsitting, etc. You are not going to be able to work for a business unless a relative owns it.

Businesses such as Publix, Kroger's, Food Lion, Sonic, Chic-Fill-A, McDonald's, Winn-Dixie, Krystal's, Dairy Queen, and Burger King along with smaller local businesses that are in the same genre tend to hire those your age. Fast-food and grocery stores are willing and able to train new employees but........................ Minors tend to have many issues that affect their ability to work such as tardiness, absenteeism, and numerous schedule requests, poor work-ethic etcetera. I am NOT implying you will have those issues but the fact that many your age do makes it more difficult for you to get an opportunity to prove your worth. Most businesses are individually owned and operated so it is the owner’s policy and past experience with minors that will determine if they will hire you. Where can a 14 year old get a body piercing in Kansas or Missouri?
I am looking into getting my belly button & or nose pierced, & possibly a tattoo as well (yeah my parents are totally cool with it). However, I can't find a place that will tatto or pierce anyone under 15.. & no, I can't just wait a few months.. I thought about doing it myself but I just can't seem to fathom shoving a needle through my own flesh. =) Can anyone help me out & tell me a place that will do it now?
