Where can you buy athletic shorts that have a middle butt pocket?
"I like to run with music and with a cellphone. Most smaller MP3 players don't support Bluetooth wireless headphones. The iPhone does. So I run cable free with my BT headphones. I also use the Nike+ so having my iPhone with me instead of a tiny Nano or Shuffle just makes more sense. Until now I had to either 1) wear a not so subtle iPhone case around my arm that made me look like a robot 2) put my iPhone in a jacket pocket deal with its weight bouncing around during my run or 3) put it in my shorts pocket and potentially ruin the phone from exposure to moisture and sweat. These shorts solve several problems all at once. First, the rear pocket on the small of the back fits and iPhone 3GS/iPod Touch. The pocket also is lined with moisture proof material facing the runner's body so sweat doesn't sneak into the pocket and steam up the MP3 player. It also keeps it snug so no bouncing occurs. Secondly, I love the built-in thigh length compression undies. I normally wear a longer pair of tight fitting athletic underwear under other shorts I have. These have them built in. The length is great since it comes down about mid thigh. It's a nice snug fit so everything stays in place. The inner liner is also very soft so no rub rashes develop like I have experienced with other shorts. These have quickly become my "go-to" running shorts this winter." Workout shorts with no pockets, why?
When I ran, I wanted as little junk as possible. I'm the same way now. I hate having a cell phone, wallet, or keys in my pants. On a 10-15 mile run, just having a single key in my pocket would have annoyed me greatly. I always tied my room key to my shoes. Nike (maybe others) make gloves with a key pouch. I've seen shorts with a small pocket on the back, which is where it would be least annoying (having it in a side pocket makes a runner feel unbalanced).

Where can I put my phone while running without pockets?
Tomorrow morning I want to go running. I usually don't take my phone but I'm running alone and want to listen to music. I usually take a water bottle too so I don't want to have to carry something in both hands or worry about dropping my phone. I plan on getting one of those arm bands that holds a phone/ipod but this is last minute. Does anyone have some creative ideas where I can put my phone while running?

No they usually do not. If they do they are not soccer shorts
How come most basketball shorts never have pockets???
Alot of them don't have pockets for safety... (and embarassment...) It's so when you are guarding or dribbling you don't accidentally put your hands in your pockets doing a crossover and break your finger or something... Or maybe when you go up for a dunk somebody gets stuck in your pocket and pulls your shorts down... but yeah mostly for safety...
Running shorts' little key pocket?
ok so alot of people have said their running shorts (like Nike or other brand) have a small pocket on the inside under the waistband that will fit a car key. However, mine is only about 2.5" long and 2" wide, which will not fit a car key (Toyota key with the big black rubber grip thing). My shorts are a Large in the kids size. is this why my pocket is smaller? Are the little pockets on the adult sizes bigger, and big enough to hold my car key?
