Does Shooting Quasar Dragon effect work if?
I use him on a Slifer summoned by tributing Hardened Armed Dragon? Let me explain: Opponent summons Slifer The Sky Dragon by using Hardened Armed Dragon as a Tribute (if Hardened Armed Dragon is used as a tribute for the summoning of a level 8 or higher monster, that monster cannot be destroyed by card effects). I summon Shooting Quasar Dragon, Slifer's effect triggers (Quasar loses 2000 ATK) I use Quasar's effect and negate the effect activation and therefore destroy the card that activated the effect. After this, does Quasar should destroy Slifer, but Slifer still cannot be destroyed by card effects. So does Quasar negate the 2000 ATK lose effect?

SQD can be activated once during YOUR turn & once during YOUR OPPONENTS TURN. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Ruling... ------->This states his effect as being a 'quick effect'. Quick effects activate during both turns. SQD negates spells, traps, as well as monster effects (including grave,flip, damage step, and banish effects). HOWEVER, the only thing he cannot negate is a counter trap (spell speed 3) This is a very powerful card if you can get it out quickly. I personally love using it. Equip him /w 'armory arm' for even more fun!

the only other deck really is junk dopple/junk plants, quasar is impossible for most decks to summon due to its incredible power.
How do you summon shooting quasar dragon without formula synchron or armory arm?
To summon Shooting Quasar Dragon, you pretty much need a synchro tuner, no exceptions. THEREFORE, you'll either need: -T.G. Wonder Magician -Life Stream Dragon -Formula Synchron (dur.) So I guess T.G. Wonder Magician could work, even though Formula's still the best option (from e-bay?), and Life Stream if you get really desperate (O.o). Then, I guess a T.G. deck would be a nice choice. But I would REALLY recommend to add a "Silver Wing," "Pot of Avarice," and a few cards to power up wind attribute monsters, The great thing about Shooting Quasar is that you can go low on the "negate effect" cards. But I still would recommend Armory Arm, though (XD).

What Quasar CAN negate: -spells -traps (except for counter-traps) -monster effects -activation of 'continuous' effects (ex: gates of dark world activating after it was already on the field) What Quasar CAN'T negate: -attacks -resolutions of cards (stuff that was activated previously to his summoning...ex: Gold Sarcophagus, Swords of revealing light) That about sums it up. Remember, Quasar can negate at ANY time during the duel. That's why he's considered one of the best monsters in the game.
