Cardio vs. Weight Training to lose weight?

I thought so. Until I told my trainer that I had been doing cardio a lot to lose weight but stopped getting results. Thats why I went to this trainer. He charges about $230 an hour so I think hes good. He told me that cardio is really easy to adjust to after about a month and you will stop seeing results, just like I had. He also told me that someone overweight shouldn't do to much cardio because 30minutes of cardio puts 30min of stress on the adrenal glands which raises cortisol levels and puts even more stress on my body than I already have from being overweight. Which results in less sleep, less energy to workout with ext. He said also that 30min of strength training puts only about 6 to 8 minutes of stress on the body because you only stressing the body when you actually lifting the weight. He went on further to say that weight training has been shown to keep your body at a metabolic spike for up to 72 hours after a workout as opposed to a metabolic spike that stops when you stop sweating from cardio?????

Do you agree with this? I thought Cardio was better????

He said it only burns a few more caloires a min than weight training, but puts less stress on the body and has almost no further impact on you once you stop running.

Another thing he said that when it some to weight loss it primarily involves nutrition and what I do at home. I'm really dedicated to losing about 50 pounds, and packing on some "Jillian Michaels" muscle so I wanted to train with him 7 days a week $230 per session and instead of jumping of that offer he said working out doesnt get you stronger and more "toned" its the resting and relaxing and sleeping thats going to do that, So i'm getting 4 days a week now.

I'm just confused I always heard muscle burns more calories than fat but he said that thats only good in theory. 1 pound of muscle opposed to 1 pound of fat only burns about 12 more calories a day. He said I could do that chewing gum???

Sorry I'm so unorganized on this post, its just, he's charging $230, hes 22 yo and hes saying all this stuff I didnt know??? WOW I heard he was one of the best, he made my friend lose 72 pounds and she is sexy looking!!!

Will swimming an hour every day help you lose weight?

Okay so i know swimming is a very good exercise and that is does burn fat, and that it also gives you a lot of muscle "Witch weighs more than fat" i just want to know if i should expect anything out of it. If im going to be gaining a lot of muscle will my thighs and belly get smaller? will i actually see any progress?

My last 400m time was 71 seconds! how can I keep from burning out in the last 200m?!?

No matter how hard I try, I can hardly make it to the 200 meter mark with any real speed. Some might say I'm not cut out for sprinting because I'm really good at distance, but I started with speed and I wanna finish with it (because right now, I'm not finishing with speed at all). I'm really good at the 100, and the 200 too I think (though I don't have any recorded times for it), but the 400 is really where I struggle. I read someone's answer to another 400m question and they said that you shouldn't have a strategy for sprinting events but thats how I've been running it and After 200m of sprinting, I just have to jog the rest. Its not that I don't have the endurance for it, I'm great at the mile. Any tips?

Is it safe to take a pre-workout supplement every day, and what are their associated health risks?

Being a fitness enthusiast for over 3 years now and being practically tried most of the supplements myself,  I think I am best suitable to assist you on this. Pre workouts are mainly aimed to give you a kick while working out to help you push those few extra reps with heavy weights and basically it makes you jumpy and highly focused. Period.  Due to the presence of the ingredients like caffeine, ephedrine,  arginine e.t.c it helps you even in loosing fat as well while minimising or nullifying the muscle mass loss during the process ( considering you are  consuming a suitable diet plan rich in proteins - tailored according to your need). So basically it can assist you in many ways - be it heavy weight training or cardio. Now coming to the drawbacks of pre workouts:-As it is a stimulant so.you can get addicted to it over prolonged continued use.      Remedy for that      Cycle the supplement for 1-2 Months which means that           discontinue the supplementation for a period of 2-4 weeks after a prolonged usage of it for two reasons One being the body get used to it and won't respond to the same way it used to before, after getting immune to it.Second is that many theories suggest to cycle most of the performance supplements as above for the same reason as above. Whenever you stop using the pre workout you will feel like being hit by a bus if while lifting the same weights with the same intensity/volume as before. But you need not to worry about this as you will overcome this barrier within a maximum of one month of contined training. Faulty consumption time specially within 3-4 hours of your sleep time might interfere with your sleep pattern  due to the presence of ephederine in it and to make up for that again you have to take an another supplement-ZMA for better sleep. So final word - if you really want to crush some heavy ass weights in the gym but couldn't do it due to sluggishness then you can go for the pre workouts to give you the kicks during the workout, just remember to cycle the supplement along with it's proper usage.HAPPY LIFTING :)
