White Stuff On The Back Of My Tonsils After Tonsilectomy

The white stuff in the back of my throat after a tonsillectomy?

yes the white stuff is the scabs.
its pretty early for them to be falling off already. and since you were bleeding a lot that just proves that it was not time for them to come off yet. if you were bleeding a lot you should have gone to the ER cuz you can die from bleeding after a tonsillectomy.
more scab is probably forming cuz the throat is not healed yet.

don't eat anything rough. you should only be eating soft foods right now like mac n cheese, apple sauce, mashed potatoes.....

and what the HELL is wrong with your mom!!!! you are not supposed to even be leaving the house for 10 days after surgery let alone going to school.
you are only suppose to start back to a normal routine after you see the dr at your 10 day post-op check up and the dr clears you to go back to school.
you are still at a very fragile state right now and any activity could lead to life threatening bleeding.

YOU CANNOT GO TO SCHOOL TOMORROW. MAKE SURE YOUR MOM UNDERSTANDS THAT!!!!!!!

IF SHE MAKES YOU GO THEN GO TO THE NURSE AND EXPLAIN THE SITUATION AND THE NURSE WILL SEND YOU HOME AND WILL TELL YOUR MOM SHE CAN'T SEND YOU BACK UNTIL THE DR HAS SAID ITS OK.

you're mom is freakin crazy!

When you get a tonsillectomy what is the white stuff that forms in your throat?

the white stuff is the scabs.
well yes its normal for them to peel off like a scab cuz they are scabs.
they usually start coming off between day 8-12 post op. if they are coming off prior to that and you start bleeding a lot then call the dr asap or go to the ER cuz bleeding is extremely serious and can lead to death if not stopped.

White stuff in throat after tonsillectomy / post-op care?

I had my tonsils removed on 7/21.. In the back of my throat, in the holes left by the tonsils, is COVERED in white stuff... (eww).... what is the cause of this and is there a way to remove it? also, what is a good mouth wash to use to rinse the back of the throat? I use distilled water in a syringe and spray it in the back of the throat, but it doesnt get it quite clean enough...

Day 5 after tonsillectomy - white tongue, bad taste in mouth?

both things are normal.
the white tongue is called "coated". its normal and you should not bother to try to brush it off cuz in the process you could hurt your healing wounds.
the nasty taste is from the scabs forming where your tonsisl were. while it is really gross it is really normal and as soon as the scabs fall off (usually around day 8-9) the taste/smell will go away almost immediately.

White stuff on left tonsil and fever?

Tuesday, i got really dizzy and sick feeling in the morning at school. i felt like i couldnt walk. that lasted all day. im pretty sure i had a low grade fever all day, on and off.
Wednesday, I slept most of the day, and I started getting a sore throat.
Today, I slept all day until about 1. I just couldn't get myself out of bed. I finally did, and went on with my Thanksgiving, but had a really sore throat. I just looked at it with a flashlight and there was white pus coming out of my left tonsil, and my throat was really red. I've had a high fever today, I'm almost certain. Tonight, my cheeks were so red and my face was so hot I couldn't stand to touch it. So, when I saw the pus, I decided to play doctor and get it off with a q-tip. It's like a yellow white pus.
I think there's white stuff coming in the back of my throat on the sides, but I'm not sure. My glands in my neck are slightly swollen, but they hurt to be touched.
I was just at the doctor last week complaining of a sore throat and he gave me medicine for it, but it doesn't seem to get any better. Only worse.

So, what is your opinion?
Strep, Mono, Tonsillitis, or something else?

Tonsillitus white spots on tonsils week after oral sex?

A week ago i had oral sex and now I have small white spots on my tonsils. I read this is tonsillitus? I thought maybe they are just food debris, but i manually scrapped them off with my toothbrush, went to sleep and they showed up int he exact same places again.

I am pretty scared, is this an std? hiv or another? I am going doctor on friday (today is sunday). I thought when i scraped off the white spots from my tonsils as food debris they would stay gone, but they reappeared after sleeping in exact same spots. Is it pus or something? strep throat? im scared it is an std...

is this directly related to oral sex 1 week ago?

thanks

I've had a tonsillectomy but now I have white pimple-like spots on the back of my throat. What are they?

Well the two things that you say that raise a red flag would be white pimples and hurts when you swallow. Pimples even if one your face or a collection of white blood cells that have been fighting off infection. The fact that you got your tonsils out in May 2009 certainly is giving you enough time to heal. It seems more likely you have a throat infection... a fever is not necessary for local infection unless it spreads which you don't want to have happen. The pain in the through when swallowing is also an indication that something is irritating for so that when it contracts for the swallowing motion it's causing pain.... sort of like pushing in on the bruise on your arm when you think about.

I would definitely seek out a Doctor maybe even and ear, nose and throat guy to do a throat culture. He might recommend antibiotics anyway since if these are truly pimples or some type of infection. You might also take some ibuprofen for the pain and to decrease the swelling in your throat.... however even though you throat feels better needs to be seen by the doctor to identify the issue.

Why is there a hole in my tonsil after I pushed my tonsil stone out?

If you see some small white or yellow small stones in your tonsils, they are actually not stones as my friend told me; my friend is a physician by the way, these white hard substances are food which has been pressed and deposited into your tonsils a long time to cause infection, if you use a Q-tip to dig them out, they look like small stones, they smell very bad, terrible smell, because they are rotten foods. That is why you have bad breath. See your doctor if he or she can help you. Maybe a surgery is needed to remove these tonsils. Consult your physician and ask his or her referral to see a specialist, an oral surgeon.
