Who Do You Think Has The Sweetest Looking Jumpshot Currently In The Nba

Which current or former NBA player has the ugliest looking jump shot?

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Shawn Marion are both acceptable answers but I think Chuck Hayes has to take the cake here. At the very least, Shawn Marion and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist shoot the ball in a smooth motion, with their feet set and on the way up. You cannot say the same about Chuck Hayes. If you watch a Chuck Hayes free throw, you will see him start the shot with not terrible form. Right as he should be about to release, as he is rising onto his toes, he abruptly stops all his motion and begins to fall backwards and to the side, while sticking out his butt. Right as he should be about to topple over, as if he had just been knocked out by a punch, he releases the ball from the opposite side of his body (he shoots with his right hand and releases from his left) and follows through with his hand pointing away from the basket. To make matters worse, he then brings his arm over to the right side of his body and places his hand as if he had followed through properly. His free throw shots draw many lane violations because he does not shoot when it looks like he is going to shoot. Probably the only good thing about his shot. As a (former) basketball coach who would teach many kids how to shoot, this shot makes my skin crawl.A notable mention for terrible shooting form should be Don Nelson. He shoots the ball without a supporting hand and when he jumps for free throws, he kicks his legs forward and backward and brings them back together again like a scissor kick.

Who has the prettiest looking jump shot in the history of the NBA?

I’m a fan of the NY Knicks. The 69–73 Knicks had lots of great shooters, but Dave Debusschere had a jump shot that is what I think of when I think of classic shots. He held the ball up high had a quick release and coudl shoot from a long way.For those that dont know him, Debusshere is in the basketball hall of fame. He also was in MLB with the White Sox as a pitcher. He was a hard nosed basketball player, tough rebounder and excellent defensive player. After retirement, Debusshchere was the Commissioner of the ABA.

Who had the sweetest right-handed jump shot in NBA history?

I would vote for Bernard King's turn-around jumper before the knee injury that interrupted his career. He started with his back to the basket, in those days of primarily single coverage with few switches defenses generally couldn't prevent the ball going to him.He immediately would pivot on his heels and go up for the jumper with a modest fade from the hoop. Practically imposible for the defenders to block, and deadly accurate. It was a thing of beauty.

Who had the sweetest left-handed jump shot in NBA history?

Dick Barnett of the Knicks in the 1960s and early 70s. Dick played a total of 971 games and averaged 15.8 ppg. I think he should be in the HOF. The other starters from the 1970 Knicks title team- Bradley, Debuschere, Reed and Frazier are in the HOF. Barnett was underrated. He had a great shot and was good on defense also. At 6–4, he was a big guard for that time. And he was an actual left hander.

What do you think about Shaun Livingston's jump shot?

I used to be the owner of a similar jump shot…. and it was like a magic trick. No one could block it.I was in junior varsity, and we scrimmaged against the varsity guys. I was the best guy on my team, but the upper classmen played great defense on me. Turns out I was constantly holding the ball too low and getting it stripped (think: Festus Ezeli). So the varsity coach had me keep the ball chin high, release the ball at the top of my outstretched arms, and it became unblockable. My next game I scored 28 points and murdered the other team from the high post.Shaun Livingston has one of those shots. He’s, arguably, the best post player on last year’s team, and despite the predictability of his offensive strategy (dribble down, back in, jump shot), it’s unblockable. For as awkward, frail, and predictable as it is, Shaun Livingston knows his game, he knows how to find the space, and he knows his shot is pretty unblockable.I think his shot is just fine.
