Why Are There No American Snooker Players

BEST SNOOKER player of all time?????????

Milt Offenberger

Snooker players vs pool players?

From a technical point of view it would seem being good at snooker would be harder than being good at pool. Snooker pockets are smaller, the ball is smaller and the table is larger. There would seem to be less room for error.
Is it fair to say that a snooker player could be a good pool player ( because pool is easier) but a good pool player won't tend to be good snooker players unless they practice more. What do you think?

Why don't Americans play snooker?

Just never been much of a tradition of it in the U.S. By the time snooker was developed in British-ruled India and spread from there, straight pool had already become established as the cue sport of choice in America. Plus the larger table typically used for snooker takes up more room in billiards halls, so more pool tables could be used instead.

What are good snooker/ pool players team names?

Janet's Bandits
Janet's Planets (get it - "plant it")
Ball Busters
Bring It On
Momma Cat & The Kittens (Meow)
8-Ball Rockers
Rockers & Sockers
Rack'em Up
Rack'em Up - Mow'em Down
Rack Runners
Scooters Shooters

And my favorite:
"Slick Chicks with Straight Shootin' Sticks"

Of course if there are guys on the team they might insist on something different.
Whatever you decide, have a great season and hope you win.

Who is the best pool player? Why?

Efren Reyes. The best all around pool player in the world.I don't know why, He just dominates the competition. Hands down the best not even a close second.

If the greatest snooker player played the greatest pool player, at both pool, and snooker, what would be the outcome?

The greatest snooker player would win 100% of the time at snooker over multiple frames (race to 9 at least), and would have a small chance (let’s say 20%) at beating the pool player at pool (at least race to 5).We’ve seen champion snooker players try their hand at nine-ball pool, for example Steven Davis, Stephen Hendry and Ronnie o’Sullivan. They have no problem potting the balls, but often go wrong in making the correct choices like potting the balls in the correct order, or choosing to play safety at the right moments. For this reason the better pool players always had an edge over them and it was rare for a snooker player to reach the final stages of pool competition.Of course there are exceptional cue-sport players like Mark Selby who has been a world pool champion and multiple snooker world champion. He would have won more pool championships but decided to concentrate on snooker, which was the right choice due to the money in that sport.I even remember Steve Mizerak (pool champion) taking on Steve Davis (snooker champion) back in the eighties, and it was exactly as expected… Mizerak won the pool and Davis the snooker. However Mizerak played snooker far better than people expected and it was suspected he must have used a snooker table to practice potting accuracy and technique for years, which is what a LOT of English pool players do. It’s not common to see American pool players in snooker halls, but the wise ones do improve their games by playing snooker.
