Why Couldnt Michael Jordan

Why couldn't Michael Jordan win a championship in the 80s?

Michael Jordan in the 80's was young and less experienced, didn't have a good enough team, and had a different coach besides the great Phil Jackson. When Michael got Pippen and Paxson along with others in the late 80's-early 90's, the Chicago Bulls were a good enough team to rise and win their first 3 championships.

Why couldn't Michael Jordan beat Magic Johnson or Larry Bird in their primes?

Bird and Magic in my opinion were just as effective and more multidimensional than Jordan...1 on 1 MJ probably would take it, but basketball has always been and will continue to be 5 on 5...so if I'm starting a team it would be a DEAD split between Larry and Magic. They also never played each other in their primes..sooo.
The ring argument is stupid and it has no logic b/c basketball is a TEAM game and NO player has ever won anything without a great team behind him. No player.
MJ didn't win in the 80's for a reason. The bulls even of the 90's greatest teams were no where near up to standard with the 80's nba teams. Magic also got more rings in the 80's b/c they only had to mow through 1 great team per year in the West. Bird in the East had to face, Milwaukee, Detroit, Philly, Chicago, New York etc. WAY TOUGHER...Comparing Kareem and Parish is something of a joke...Mchale and Bird were the only advantages spot to spot match up-wise the celts had. The lakers were way deeper and overall better for 9 out of 12 seasons.
Magic's lakers had the Houston Rockets ,and the utah jazz(for like 1 out of 10 years) to get through that's it.

I judge it by position only:
PG- Magic
SG- MJ
SF-Bird
PF-Duncan
C-Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, Russell take your pick...this is the hardest position to judge b/c any of these guys has an argument for the greatest Center of all time.

Why is Michael Jordan considered the GOAT when he couldn’t beat Larry Bird and the Celtics?

“I would never have called him the greatest player I’d ever seen if I didn’t mean it,” Bird told The Boston Globe. “It’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.”This came from from a prime Larry Legend only GOAT’s 2nd season in the league where he only played 18 regular season games before the Playoffs, he suffered a fracture early in the season. Management was also leaning heavily to shelve MJ for the rest of the season too.Yes Jordan got swept but he was up against the one of the greatest team of all time in their prime without good supporting talent outside of Orlando Woolridge. That said MJ didn’t reach the undisputed GOAT status until he did what was thought unachievable with the first modern 3x Peat.So why did the media and fans thought not achievable? It was already incredibly hard to make the Finals 3 times let alone 3-peating itIt’s so much easier when you form your own modern super team thoughMJ’s Bulls was perimeter based team in a league where it was dominated by low post HOFersThe Bulls wasn’t deep either, their first 3x Peat, Pippen was only a good SF and hasn’t risen to legendary level yetBasically it was MJ, Pippen, Horace Grant then a sharp drop off in talent and depthYour modern equivalent would be Wade with Beasley and Jermaine O'Neal back in the 2009/10 seasonEast was legitimately the stronger conference vs the West at the timeNew York Knicks was no bullshit, MJ ruined what could have been Ewing’s career76ers - Well they had Barkley before he traded to the Suns below (lol)Cavs - no joke they were loadedCeltics - old but still a 55 win teamPistons - still in their prime and they won back to back ‘chipsPacers - annoying Reggie, Greatest German baller in Detlef Schrempf (until some skinny 7′0 lad named Dirk showed up), The Dunking Dutchman in Rik Smits (all 7′4 of him)Hornets - LJ, Zo, Curry (yes Dell), MuggsyThe teams they beat in the Finals was;Magic’s LakersThat was a great series, it was like MJ’s coming out partyDrexler’s BlazersThat shrug game with a then record 7x 3s in the first half, nowadays Harden makes as much in a quarterBarkley’s SunsThis is where Barkley for probably the first time in his life met a player whom he can never beat and always a level above himIt was when MJ became the undisputed GOAT.

Why couldn't Michael Jordan win a championship ring without Scottie Pippen & Dennis Rodman?

No one player can win a championship without other great players at other positions.

Jordan was a great defender at his position, carried the scoring load, and closed out games. That's it.

Rodman did the dirty work and rebounding on defense.

Pippen was their best defender, 2nd scoring option, and PG.

Jordan couldn't have won unless he got players who made a similar impact at those positions. There weren't any more than a few players in the league at that time who could've replaced Dennis and Pip. Maybe none.

Michael Jordan without Scottie Pippen could'nt do ?

Retta B , you need to shut up, you MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Jordan couldn't do jack without Pippen

MICHAEL JORDAN SUCKS!

Has Michael Jordan ever scored 81 points or more?

@kaine.............even though i dont agree with what this girls implying, i also dont agree with you....... cuz frankly..........your an idiot. if YOU knew anything about basketball then you'd know that todays game has completely evolved. Jordan would get his *** wrecked in the N.B.A of today. His skill set was incredible at the time, not current time. hes known for the greatest of all time because he revolutionized a very PRIMAL like N.B.A. It wasnt the same game as today; there werent many great players then (by great i mean skillful), not as much strategy then, and not as much research and devotion went into it. kobe's stats dont match up to jordans becuase they're two completely different times................ comparing jordan to kobe? why dont you let me know your opinion between the evolutionary breakthrough of radio to a sony high definition 3-d tv?

Why didn't Michael Jordan return to the Chicago Bulls in 2001, when he came out of his retirement to the Wizards?

The Chicago Bulls never offered Jordan a position as an executive, suspecting a former superstar player didn’t necessarily translate into a top front-office guy - when pressed by Jordan to remove Jerry Krause as GM of the Bulls and hire a former player instead, Reinsdorf mentioned Elgin Baylor (the Clippers GM) as an example why he really shouldn’t.Jordan found such a position in Washington along with a minority stake in the team because of minority owner Ted Leonsis, under then-majority-owner Abe Pollin, and had little success. So when he decided to give basketball another try as a player, his last, it served multiple goals - among which a chance to enhance his status among the organization by helping the team back to the playoffs, turning a loser into a championship contender and creating a winning culture, then returning to his executive position and earning benefits. So basically it was a cheat. Jordan played for a token salary to slide seamlessly into the Wizards’ active roster and make up for what he couldn’t do as an executive and hoped nobody noticed. There was a great deal of denial involved. And it backfired badly when he failed to reach the playoffs for two straight seasons and managed to piss off about everybody in his own ballclub in the process with questionable behavior - teammates, marketing people and business partners. In order to play, he had to sell his stake in the team and vacate his position as executive (because the NBA forbids any active player from owning part of a team) and though he always assumed he would “come back upstairs” after his playing days were over, he was never offered a position in that organization again - he was offered a severance fee.And Chicago never called after that, picking former teammate John Paxson instead.

Why couldn't Jordan lead the Wizards to a championship ?

Why couldn't Jordan lead the Wizards to a championship.???

Easy... Kwame Brown was the first overall pick in the 2001 draft.!!!!

Because you're right.... MICHAEL JORDAN as GM SUCKS !!!

Why wasn't Michael Jordan a good 3 point shooter in his very early career?

Michael Jordan made three pointers when he shot them. In his first 4 years in the league he never shot over 70 three pointers in a single season, that's less than 1 per game! That means that his percentages for those seasons didnt really matter. When he was 26 yrs old, in the 89-90 season, he shot 245 three pointers! He made over 37% of them and that is a good three point percentage. He shot 260 three's in the 95-96 season and made over 42% of them. That is close to some of the best three point percentages we see today from players like Stephen Curry, who is well known for his great three point shooting. As you can see, when Jordan shot three's, he made them. There is a myth that Jordan was not a good three point shooter but clearly he was a threat from anywhere on the floor, even deep. He could also do everything on each side of the ball. The man is god in basketball shoes, don't ever disrespect any part of his game.
