Why did the Ku Klux Klan flourish in the 1920s?

What is the ku klux klan?

The Ku Klux Klan is a white supremacist group created in the mid 1800's that sole purpose was to spread the idea that white, christian men were superior to any other kind of people. They wore white clothing, hoods, and masks to hide their identity and usually terrorized blacks, jews, and minorities. They commonly practiced burning crosses in their victim's lawn and lynching targets. They began to up-rise in large numbers in the south due to blacks being freed from slavery. They still exist today, but are considered a terrorist group in the United States, have little funding, and have a decreasing membership demand each year.

Why did the ku klux klan flourish in the 1920s? what does this tell you about people's behavior in troublesome?

The KKK's revival in the 1920's didn't have much to do with the Harlem Renaissance as much as it did with the wave of nativism in the face of immigration.

The KKK in the 1920's became centered much more in the Northeast, which is where the majority of European immigrants settled.

What did the Ku Klux Klan do to black people?

A lot of things. They have advocated white supremacy, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, racism, homophobia, anti-Communism and nativism. They have burned crosses outside of black people's homes. For a while they could get away with crimes to ethnic groups and would not be punished for it. The KKK did a lot or horrible stuff. They also attacked Jews, Catholics and other groups. There are still some KKK members today, but very few.
