Why Do I Wake Up At 2am On The Dot Now That I Am Using My Cpap Machine

Do you use a CPAP machine and do you still wake up several times a night?

Your needing to pee at night is not related to your sleep disorder, which the CPAP is addressing. If you are a female, then you need to drink MOST of your liquid BEFORE 8 p.m. and you won't have to get up to pee as often at night. If you are a male and are over 50, you need to see your regular doctor and get an exam for BPH ... your prostate is getting larger, which is affecting the way you pee ... and you also need it to 'rule out' prostate cancer. But be assured, it is NOT the CPAP machine that is causing this ... if you didn't have 'urinary tract problems' you would be sleeping ALL NIGHT and be 'fit as a fiddle' and ready to go when you wake up in the morning.

I keep taking my CPAP mask off in my sleep. How do I stop?

You are probably working with a doctor who is a Sleep Specialist to counter obstructive sleep apnea, and possibly snoring as well. I encountered similar problems with removing my CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) mask during sleep. When I asked my doctor about this problem his first suggestion was to try a different style of mask. I went through about a dozen different masks all to no avail. He then suggested I try an “oral appliance” (sometimes known as a “dental appliance” or “Orthoapnea.”)(Image courtesy of Wikimedia Commons. Tool shown is used to adjust tension.)This device looks and sounds more cumbersome and intrusive than it actually is. It fits comfortably into the mouth. Oddly enough, after I had worn it overnight a few times I began to miss it if it wasn’t in my mouth. It keeps the airway free by holding the tongue down slightly. If you decide to get one you will have to get a prescription from your doctor and give it to dental specialist who will make a mold of your mouth and make the device from that. It will have to be adjusted with a small tool that is included every night for a week or two until a proper fit is achieved. This really solved my problem with the masks, though it is not guaranteed to work for everyone. The ideal solution for sleep apnea is still a CPAP or BPAP breathing machine and a traditional plastic mask. For more information on oral appliances see this article from the American Sleep Association: Sleep Apnea Oral Appliances - Research & Treatments | American Sleep Assoc

Why don't women wash their hands after using the bathroom?

Thats a very good message for all the people out there who dont worry about their health. But i think that women do wash their hands almost always, like me.Man don't worry that much about that.Thats becuse they sometimes dont even clean them selfs after useing the bathroom. If a women doesnt wash, that mens:
1.She lived in a jungle almost all her life.
2.She is always in a hurry so she forgot.
3.She haves some special thing that she uses to clean her hands, and she is afraid of the germs on the sink

Sleep Apnea: How do you avoid waking up with a CPAP/APAP machine in the middle of the night, taking it off, and then sleeping (without it) again?

Sleep Apnea: How do you avoid waking up with a CPAP/APAP machine in the middle of the night, taking it off, and then sleeping (without it) again?i always seem to do this. :/One answer is to “tape it on” or to use some other way to affix the mask so that it requires more conscious thought (e.g., being more awake) to remove. If you are waking up and taking it off consciously then the answer is simple, “Don’t do that.” Don’t give yourself permission to do this unless you FEET ARE ON THE GROUND.I don’t take my mask off until my feet are on the ground AND the machine has been turned OFF. (The nasal pillows deflate which makes it slightly more comfortable to remove.)Similar for putting it on (to get a better fit): Don mask, turn on machine, lie down. Always in that order.I even recommend that beginners never take of the mask to refit it without going through the whole sequence — it trains one to STOP FIDDLING with the mask.Get it on, get it right, leave it alone. If your mask isn’t fitted well enough AND comfortable enough to do that then CORRECT the SITUATION.(Hint: A Resmed P10 is worlds better than 98% of the masks available — for almost everybody.)But the above is just one person’s set of answers so my real recommendations is that you VISIT Apnea Board Forum to ask the very nice people there for help, ideas, and opinions. They will help you for free with most any OSA/CPAP etc. probably you can think up.

How many times should i be waking up at night?

I was talking to my boyfriend the other day and he was saying that he didn't sleep well because he woke up twice during the night and he usually sleeps through the night without waking up. I told him that i usually wake up 3-4 times on a normal night, and sometimes more, but those are very rare. I thought it was a normal thing to wake up a few times during the night but he told me i should go to the doctor. How many times should i be waking up and remembering it? when i do wake up i usually just roll over and fall imediately back to sleep, it is rare for me to actually have a hard time falling back to sleep, but it does happen.

Also, my dad and his 3 sisters have to use CPAP machines, is there something i can do to prevent having to have one? they all got their machines in their 30's, I am 19.

What was the defining moment in your marriage when you knew it was over?

I was 21yrs old when I got married( We had know each other for 5 yrs) After 3 months I found that I was pregnant. We were happy and in love. Soon he started physically and emotionally abusing me. Yes! While I was pregnant. At first I would stand up to him but soon discovered that my injuries would be less if I didnt. Not that it made any difference. He would poke and prod me until I would say something and then he would beat me.Fast fowarding to baby number 2 ( 1 and half years later) u know what they say, the abuse only gets worse with time. I sometimes ended up in the emergency room or x-ray room or being patched up by my local doctor. Each time, I found my pain and tears being questioned ( by his family) as to what did I do to provoke him? there must be something I did wrong.Years turned into a decade. Me suffering from anxiety and depression, he, lashing out on the innocent kids and I. My life was a lie. A happy love story for all to see. Inside, I was dying. I was a master at hidding bruised ribs and blue marks. After 12 yrs, he decided to leave to work away from home. Didnt even care about how my kids and I would cope. What was suppose to be a few months became 5 years. He was free from us. He saw us every 3 weeks and became a visitor in his home. I, on the other hand grew from crying myself to sleep, to reporting a dead body found in my yard. With no concern from him. Oh! Did I mention inbetween it all. I lost my darling mum to cancer and my dad to a heart attack ( all before I was 30yrs) My sister was all I had and she was helpless to save me.I was a teacher at a high school, a mother off two teenagers, a wife to a bachelor. (Not to forget a failure as an Indian daughter-in-law)Oneday I was speaking to a loved one and she asked me, why was I STILL MARRIED? I said, its because I didnt want to be a single parent…then I realised I had been from the day my babies were born…so I left.

What was the most inappropriate thing that happened to you when staying at a hotel?

The hotel clerk gave me the wrong key! I was traveling across the country, coming back from a conference in L.A. I was given my key for the night and just wanted to get to bed. I have never been given the wrong key before in my life and was not prepared for what I saw as I entered what I thought was my hotel room.I walked in and heard a woman in a sexy voice say, “Ooohh, you’re back!” She giggled. I walked farther into the room and as I turned the corner, I saw a woman who looked to be in her late thirties, spread-eagled on the bed, completely naked, blindfolded, and tied up!I was frozen to the floor. But then the woman said, “Jerry? Jerry, is that you?” I noticed that she was a very attractive woman with a curvy figure, nice boobs, and a well manicured, “lawn”. She seemed to be well-to-do.I decided to let her know what happened. I said, “No, ma’am. This isn’t Jerry.” She seemed to get excited and said “Who are you? What’s our secret password?”I said, I didn’t know and must have been given the wrong card. I told her I would go. She asked me if I knew Jerry. I said no. I had just been given the wrong key card. She asked me if I would remove her blindfold. I did. She looked at me through squinted eyes. I could tell she had been blindfolded for awhile. She looked me up and down, and asked again, “Are you sure you don’t know my husband, Jerry?” I said, “No. I have never met him, to my knowledge.” Mind you, we are having this conversation as I am standing over her in her birthday suit. She looked more disappointed than embarrassed about being naked in front of a stranger that had just entered her hotel room. I asked her if she wanted me to cover her and untie her. She said, “Yes, my arms are starting to lose circulation.”I got a towel and covered her. Then I untied her as I explained what happened. As I was finishing, the guy, Jerry came through the door. He looked at me suspiciously, but then Karen, the woman, told him what happened. He got pissed and called the hotel desk. He ripped the woman a new one. I told Jerry and Karen I was sorry, and I would be going.Jerry told me to wait a minute. He said he appreciated me not taking advantage of his wife and looked in his cooler. He pulled out a nice cold one and said,”It’s on me, huh?”I said thanks and left. I went back to the hotel desk to get the right key card and I met the woman was in tears. She was right to be, because shortly after that, I heard she got fired.

How can one help a person that wakes up in the middle of the night gasping for air?

Yes -- utterly common, it's called sleep apnea. That's what it sounds like, unless it's something weird. (If your father was still having trouble breathing after waking up, perhaps that was a complication stimulated by the sleep apnea).

At some stage in life, and maybe depending on things like amount of fat around the throat area, a person takes on a condition in which when one drifts off to sleep, their throat muscles relax in such a way as to close off the breathing "ductwork". Result is this periodic gasping and threat of asphyxiation. And yes it's a hazardous condition. Typically is associated with snoring. Anyone who snores very likely has sleep apnea also.

The modern solution is to use a CPAP machine. About which, see link below. What the person does is, tell their doctor they may have sleep apnea. Doctor prescribes a visit to a sleep lab. You spend a night at the sleep lab and they monitor whether you do in fact have apnea, and whether a CPAP machine will fix the problem. Then you get prescribed the machine and commence using it.

Very common nowadays. Practically every middle-aged man I know seems to use one (as do I myself). And let me tell you it's a godsend. Aside from greatly reducing the risk of dying in the middle of the night, you get much better sleep. Before the CPAP, I had long been someone who could hardly stay awake in the afternoons. Now I know it was because of sleep apnea interfering with my sleep. Now I sleep great and don't get sleepy in the day time.

Anything i can do about my fiance's snoring?

There are a few kind of devices can use to stop snoring:-

a) Throat Sprays and Nasal Sprays
Throat spray can coat the soft tissues of the throat with lubricating oils. While nasal sprays can reduce congestion or the swelling of nasal tissues. They both allow the air to move more freely and lessening the noisy vibration.

b) Nose Strip
It applied externally and is a kind of cheap device nose strip which help increase the breadth of the air passage and thus reducing snoring. The devices such as adhesive strips which help to hold the airways open of your nose and the plastic devices to hold open your nostrils

c) Mouthpiece Devices
If snoring is caused by a misalignment of the jaws, the jaws can be realigned by some custom-made fitted by own dentist. It will pull the lower jaw or tongue forward and create enough space in throat to prevent breathing obstruction. Or it can be correct though surgery or by using patented devices that help keep the jaws in their proper positions.

You wake up tomorrow and it's 6:00 AM, September 11, 2001. You have three hours before the attack. You were magically transported back in time and you remember what happened then. What do you do?

I go to sleep tonight.I wake up, Everything is sort of blurry & monochrome. I'm looking around.Somehow, I realize that it's 11th September, 2001. And it's 3 hours before the attack. What do I do????I fuckin CRY.Cause that's what I could do, you know why???Cause I'm freaking 11 days old! How the fuck could I possibly do something????I don't think anyone would believe a baby who came out in this cruel world literally 11 days ago.Maybe I cry a little more.I could roll over in my ever so small bed. But that's the most I could do.Any suggestions???? Could anyone tell me how an 11 day old baby could save thousands of people?????I hate being an infant.*Cries*But wait a minute, could I point at things???? I mean, could an 11 day old baby take his finger & point at various things????If I could, then I could try to do something!I could point at various things but still, I don't think anyone would take me seriously!I sure would try, I would point at a random book & cry the fuck out so that someone would give that book to me.Then I could point at different words in the book and let the people around me connect the dots.Again, I don't think that anyone would take a baby seriously but I would try it anyway.Or maybe I could try to speak, considering I have the brain of the 15 year old me, I could at least try to speak.Oh wait, I have the brain of the 15 year old me. Which means I know about the paradoxes & complications of changes in history. No, no, no! This can't happen!I would do NOTHING!!!!Because changing history could result in many things including the end of the world. Yes, I know I'm sounding like an insensitive & arrogant asshole but yeah, that's what it is.If we change the history, then everything could be different. Many people existing today would've not born & everything would've been different.I'm sorry for killing thousands of people but as bad as it sounds, I would do nothing.Who knows, saving thousands could lead to killing millions. This could be the best or the worst thing that has ever happened. That's too much of a risk.Sorry, but even if I had not been an 11 day old infant, I still wouldn't have done anything.Changing history is not good & is definitely not safe.People don't create circumstances, the circumstances create people.

I legitimately do not hear the alarm clock in the morning, even after sleeping 7 hours. What drastic measures can I take to actually wake up?

I can see that a lot of folks here are focusing on the alarm clock peice of this equation. I would argue that maybe your alarm clock isn’t the problem. It may be that 7 hours simply isn’t enough for you. If you are a heavy sleeper and just don’t notice the alarm in the morning, then it may be a good idea to consider pushing your bedtime forward to give yourself more time to sleep so that you wake up naturally around the time your alarm clock would go off. If you are in the deepest stages of sleep still when your alarm goes off, then it is certainly possible that the alarm would not be loud enough to pull you out of it. This probably means you need to give your body and mind more time to naturally progress to lighter stages of sleep before your alarm clock will be effective. The other option you might try is talk to your doctor about getting a sleep study done. It is possible that the reason you aren’t waking up in the morning is that you aren’t getting a restful enough sleep at night. If this is due to something like sleep apnea, special equipment can help you get a better night’s sleep and wake up more readily in the morning.Make sure you’ve got good sleep habits too, i.e.: no screens before bed; consistent bed and wake times every day; make your bed a sanctuary for sleep, not a multi-purpose space; don’t exercise, drink caffeine, or eat a heavy meal right before bed; etc…Most of all, do something sooner rather than later to improve your sleep. Bad habits and sleep debt compound fast and they can have a lot of negative effects on your health!Best of luck my friend!

How do you know if you have Sleep Apnea ?

Common symptoms of sleep apnea;
Snoring
waking up often
weight gain
feeling tired most of the time
gasping/choking (which means your breathing stopped momentarily)
falling asleep involuntarily during the day

more severe symptoms of sleep apnea;
falling asleep while driving
waking up needing to urinate urgently (several times a night)
thrashing about while sleeping
grinding your teeth while sleeping

I strongly urge you to get a sleep study done. It is painless and only takes one evening to do. Sleep apnea deprives the brain and body of oxygen. The standard treatment for sleep apnea is that you get to sleep using a C-PAP or Bi-PAP machine. You wear a mask to bed and the machine pressurizes the oxygen flow while you sleep. No more snoring, sore throat, waking up multiple times, etc. etc. etc.

I have been using my machine for almost 3 years. Insurance paid for it & the sleep study. I have great energy now, feel more alert than ever. It did not take long to get used to the mask and I love the long term benefits.

If you snore, chances are you have some form of apnea. Get a sleep study done ASAP

Does someone with ADHD experience the passage of time differently to someone without it?

I was diagnosed with inattentive-type ADHD when I was in my 40s. I have written a couple of humorous articles on the topic, and yes, time issues are very real to the person with ADHD.When I have an appointment or need to be somewhere at a specific time, I typically begin getting ready at least two hours before I need to be there because I know that somewhere along the line I’m going to lose a chunk of time. I’ve had mornings where I was getting ready for work and lost almost an hour, when I could have sworn that the last time I looked at the clock was only 10 minutes ago. I’ve been late and nearly lost my job more than once in my career. The first thing people need to understand is that ADHD is not a difference in behavioral preference. Instead, ADHD can be partially attributed to a difference in how the brain is structured. What may look like behavioral choices — laziness, sloppiness, and forgetfulness — are likely due to differences in brain structure.ADHD brains are also wired differently. The brain has a default mode network (DMN) that controls the brain functions when it’s awake but in “resting state”. The DMN is what is active when you daydream, recall memories, and perform other task-irrelevant activities. When a person is handed a cognitive task to perform, the DMN deactivates and the appropriate attention pathways light up, if you will, to accomplish the task. But in ADHD the “daydream” mode doesn’t quiet down when the attention circuits are kicked on. So people with ADHD can tell their attention circuits to pay attention to the task at hand, but the circuits that link to the DMN fail to send the signal to shut down. When you think about the fact that our brains process 400 billion pieces of information every second, it’s pretty easy to see how the ADHD brain can become overwhelmed and lose track of time, forget a person’s name, turn in work that is sloppy or incomplete.By the way, it took me approximately 1.5 hours to finally complete this, due to my ADHD… just sayin’.

What are some of the best investment strategies?

Value investing. It works for permanent reasons that are unlikely to go away and has worked over most long periods of time.Source: Brandes, https://www.brandes.com/docs/def...First:Make sure you truly have a long-term, 5+ year time horizon. For more, see How and Why to Be a Long-Term InvestorDon’t expect something as unrealistic as having amazing returns every year. Value investing works over the long-term in part because it doesn’t work all the time!Value Investing works as follows at a high level:Find companies that have sufficiently predictable long-term economic characteristicsUnderstand their fundamentals, including performing a structural industry analysis, understanding the nature and magnitude of any sustainable competitive advantage, assessing the management team and the balance sheet.Estimate a range of intrinsic values for the businessInvest in companies trading with a meaningful margin of safety to your estimate of intrinsic valuePut together a portfolio of such investments that is sufficiently concentrated so that you are not diluting good investments with mediocre ones, but sufficiently diversified so that no one mistake can permanently impair your portfolio beyond recoveryThe above is not easy to do, and most people are better off not doing this themselves. As a matter of fact, a good number of people are likely to be better off with a simple dollar-cost-averaging strategy using low-cost index funds from a reputable firm such as Vanguard. Unfortunately, as I wrote in The Low Cost of Inaction: Don’t Just Do Something, Stand There! right now the market is not offering either attractive overall returns or plentiful individual opportunities (see charts below), so you should be careful regardless of the path that you choose.

What are some good habits to follow?

In no particular order:Floss before going to bed. To ensure that you don't have junk stewing in your teeth for 8 hours.Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning and last thing at night.Perform kegels every day. Read more on why this is awesome."Eat the frog". Write down 1 task that you must absolutely perform in order for the day to be a success, and do it first when you get to work.Send 1 call/text/email to an old friend or colleague that you haven't spoken with in a while. Over one year, that adds up to 365 reignited relationships (or 61 relationships reignited six times apiece).End the day with fewer emails in your inbox than you started with. Repeat until you get to inbox zero.Give away / donate one item in your household every single day. Repeat until you have an uncluttered, restful home.Answer one question on Quora per day. Work on your writing ability while contributing to the organization of the world's knowledge.Walk to and from work, if possible. Exercise! Sunshine!Eat at least one fruit or vegetable each day. Sure, you should probably eat a half-dozen servings of each. But things can get really screwed up when you are eating zero fruits and veggies. Start small and be consistent.Express gratitude. My days go so much smoother when I remind myself: "dude, you could just as easily have been born in a Sudanese refugee camp. You're one lucky mo-fo."Spend at least 20 minutes reading something that is completely unrelated to your career (or "personal development"). Creative thinking requires varied inputs. If you have monofocus (e.g. only read about startups all day), you're severely limiting the amount of interesting ideas you can come up with.Get uncomfortable at least 1x per day (ideally 3x or 5x). By "get uncomfortable" I mean "summon the courage to do something that makes you anxious". Speak up during the work conference call. Say hi to the pretty girl or fella standing next to you in line. Run 4 miles instead of 3. Et cetera. Remember: "Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." - George Addair

SHORTT FUNNY jokes or riddles? please fancy a laugh :)?

There are many natural ways to cure premature ejaculation. A proven natural method can be found on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=565

Recent polls have shown that the average length of intercourse is usually anywhere between 2 to 12 minutes. Most often those diagnosed with premature ejaculation climax in less than a minute or two, and there are even those who ejaculate before there is any sort of penetration. In all actuality, “too short” is really just a matter of opinion. The most important factor is if a man feels that he is unable to control his ejaculation and is frequently climaxing before he would like. Any man who feels that this is a problem for him may be suffering from some form of premature ejaculation.
