Why is virginity so important? especially for women?
why is it so important in religion for the woman to be a virgin but it doesn't matter if the man is or not? why the difference? i know i was raised jewish but i was curious: are jewish men supposed to be virgins on their wedding nights too, or at least preferred to be? (like women) what about christian men? if not why is it so important for women and not men. why is it such a big "gift" for her husband but he does not have to give the "gift" back? (look at the biblical laws--so many dealing with virgin women and none about men) just curioous about the differences.
