Why Do You Think Obama Care Will Work

Do You Think Obamacare Will Work Or Fail!?

Its already a failure and will continue to remain so. The obamacare supporters here can point to its wonderful sounding regulations all they want, the outcome of those regulations have proved to be disastrous. Thats the one thing they cant and wont do: admit to the terrible consequences of this law.

Way back before it was signed into law, they were promising that this law was the answer to all our problems. This would be the legislation that would deliver all sorts of miracles and fixes. Instead the exact opposite has happened. And it has added way more problems on top of the old ones.

Now the same people who pushed this garbage on to us with all their phony promises, are now pushing single payer, along with making the same promises all over again! I think they should fulfill all their promises regarding obamacare before they even talk about changing our health care system yet again.

Do You Think ObamaCare Will Work Or Fail?

The program was doomed from the beginning. The math never made sense. You add 20 million people to a system which has a bunch of babyboomer doctors reaching retirement age just as a large number of baby boomers are reaching the stretch of their lives when they would already tax the system. Nothing in the system adds one doctor. Surely you've at least heard of the concept of the game "musical chairs."

Remember: nobody named Obama is ever going to be subject to Obamacare.

What do you think of Obamacare?

Having worked in the Canadian single payer system and our own for profit hospitals, I greatly admire and prefer the Canadian. From the point of view as a critical care nurse, I loved being focussed on treatment first. The second the patient hit the triage desk we were about treatment only. The bureaucracy came later.

In the USA nurses and doctors are expected to count each individual gauze, every tube of lotion, and every second spent on billing is time spent away from providing care. In Canada we just do our nursing duties and let stores and accounting count the costs.

Accounting is a place a single payer system saves Canadians a fortune. In the USA we have entire towers filled with bookkeepers and accountants, not to mention the required collections department. Canadian hospitals have accounting departments that take up less room than most nursing units, which leaves the towers available for more patient beds. Fewer accountants means more nurses. People who argue that their system costs more fail to take this efficiency into account.

Obamacare is a small step towards that superior Canadian system, where every citizen is covered through the general revenues of the tax system. In Canada there has not been a medical bankruptcy in the last half century, and no person has been denied treatment because of a pre existing condition.

I never worked in Europe, but nurses and doctors have assured me that this is true in every industrialized democracy but ours. In terms of access to health care we are number thirty seven!

The Canadian system is great for doctors as well, although the younger ones do not realize it because they do not remember how they used to need five clerks for the single one they employ today. They also do not need bill collection agencies and lawyers to track down their patients. Seriously, the Canadian system save so much on bureaucracy that can then be spent on parient care!

I admit this is more about private care, including the Obama version, versus single payer universal coverage, but my point is that I think Obamacare is a very small but significant step towards equality with Canada and the European Union. That's why I will vote for a Democrat who supports single payer before any other candidate in the upcoming primaries.

We deserve to be at least as good as Portugal, don't we?

How does Obamacare work?

Headless Horseman should be considered Brainless Horseman as well. No need to worry my friend. It is going to be thrown out by the Supreme Court as it is unconstitutional to force someone to buy this. It is also tyrannical.

Unfortunately, the Republican party needs to fall and a Conservative party needs to rise. I mean Mitt Romney? Are you kidding me? That is going to be the one that defeats Obama? Read: Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters.

Isn't funny how the Liberal media doesn't go after Mitt even knowing he has been leading the polls for quite some time? It is because he is a wolf in sheep's clothing! The media is waiting to reveal everything about Mitt Romney that is true because they know Obama can beat him. And even if Mitt does win, he is just like Obama.

Romney care was based off of Obama care. So who will i vote for, whoever the media hates the most and has a chance to beat Mitt. Good luck and I hope things get better.

Do you think Obamacare will badly hurt the Economy?

Health care is one if not the biggest sector of the economy and its just been nationalized. It can do nothing but hurt since it is a huge budget buster. Since the deficit is our greatest national security threat, there's also that aspect of it.

What do you think of this tweet from Mike Pence: “As ObamaCare fails, Democrats are continuing their quest for government takeover of health care. Socialized medicine will lead to bureaucrats making the most important decisions effecting our lives.”?

Bureaucrats already make the most important decisions in our lives, if you are an American. Only the bureaucrats don't work for the government, they work for the insurance companies. Therefore the people overseeing those bureaucrats are motivated only by profit, so that their prime motivation is to keep costs down, which means providing the minimum amount of healthcare possible. If healthcare bureaucrats worked for the government, profit would not be a consideration, and they would be responsible to the public that they served.Which situation do you think would be better for patients?Medicare is provided by the government and overseen by bureaucrats, and it is very popular. I have Medicare and it is terrific.Expanding Medicare to cover all Americans is not only possible, it would actually be LESS EXPENSIVE than our current system. Yes, your taxes might go up a little, but you wouldn't have to pay thousands of dollars every year for private healthcare, plus all of those co-pays and uncovered expenses. You could still get private healthcare to supplement your Medicare plan, if you wanted it and could afford it.If everyone had Medicare, no one would have to worry about in-network versus out-of-network costs, or arguing with their insurance agency about what is covered and what isn’t. Your healthcare couldn't be taken away because your plan has a limit on how much they will cover in a year. There wouldn't be a two-tiered medical system where those who can afford it get good care and those that can not afford it get no care (under the current system you will be charged for going to an emergency room, that is not “free”).Every modern First World nation has healthcare that covers every one of their citizens - except for the United States. Only in the United States can a citizen face bankruptcy because of their medical bills. And most of those “socialized” healthcare systems provide better outcomes for patients at a lower per-person cost. The United States is no longer the “greatest healthcare system” in the world and you can only get top-rate healthcare in the U.S. if you can afford the expense (which is growing at twice the rate of inflation). The bureaucrats already run the healthcare system, so would you rather have those bureaucrats working for you, the citizen, or for the profit of their stockholders?

What do you think about Donald Trump and Obamacare?

I really have no idea about what kind of person wakes up one day and says “Hey, I think I’ll take away 20 million Americans’ healthcare—why? Well because I promised I would—no other reason”.Trump promised “way better and way cheaper” healthcare for “everyone” (yes, he said “everyone”), but, like most con men, he delivered nothing of the sort. What Trumpcare was (actually it was Ryancare, since Trump hasn’t a clue about how healthcare works or even what it is), was this hodge-podge of old, unworkable ideas.I mean, think about this: “tax credits” for people who don’t make any money? Say WHAT? “Block grants” for states to distribute so that people would have “access” to health care. “Access”. That’s like saying by putting a Mercedes showroom in your neighborhood you have access to a new Benz. Well, that’s true, but….Trump could have, if he only had a brain (apologies to the Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz), completed a master stroke for America and for himself by championing Single Payer Healthcare (basically an expansion of Medicare, but for everyone). But he missed that chance for glory, and decided instead, that since he could not take away the healthcare of 20 million people, he would do whatever he could to slowly “kill Obamacare”.Some say there is a difference between stupid and evil, but I’m not so sure anymore.

Why is Obamacare currently failing?

For the people who have it, Obamacare was and still is very successful. I have plenty of patients who just picked up the phone and called an insurance company and got a reasonable, affordable policy without too much hassle. The primary reasons why Obamacare was not more widely accepted was because of the numerous destructive cuts the republicans put in place to debilitate the program. The first and most destructive insult was simply making it clear to the insurance companies participating in the plan that they would do whatever it took to keep the plan form working. If you’re an insurance company and you know that the government is not going to support the plan and that they will do anything in their power to keep it from working, it’s kind of difficult to keep selling plans, right? The next most destructive move the republicans made was to end their financial support of the program through a number of incentives directed at consumers and insurance companies.Getting rid of the individual mandate was another nail in the coffin. Never mind that every type of insurance on the planet relies on participation from a large population of people in varied risk categories. Did you for one minute think that your auto/home/dental/vision/life insurance coverage is not subsidized by the sheer number of people participating in the program? News flash: it is!!!! Why would you think that health insurance could be different and still succeed?Getting rid of the individual mandate was an easy sell to the general “we should get everything we want for free” republican supporting populace. That’s why it was a mandate. Duh. Guess how health insurance works in the entire rest of the civilized world? People pay for it. Yes, that’s right, they pay for it! Whether they pay for it in income tax, real estate tax, poll tax, gasoline tax, bridge tax, burger tax, or carpet tacks, every person who uses it pays for it in one way or another. Why would you expect the US to be any different? Oh, that’s right, you’re a magical thinker, like Mexico is going to pay for the wall, right?Unfortunately for the republicans the ACA is like Jason in Halloween. Despite being shot in the head, run over, set on fire, buried, and drowned in a vat of acid it continues to survive. Not only that, but the general public even notices that they kind of like it. Get ready for the hypocrisy.
