Why Does My Arm Hurt So Much After I Got A Shot This Morning

Why does it feel like I got a shot in my arm?

It sounds like it. Don't worry unless it doesn't go away after a week.

Why does My arm swell up and is in treasonous pain after shooting methamphetamine?

You might have a blood clot in that arm. I took care of a patient who was a former heroin user. He hadn't shot up in years and then one day decided he wanted to. He shot up in his groin. His leg ended up swelling and it was real painful. A scan revealed a blood clot in his vein in his groin and it was obstructing blood flow. He was put on a blood thinner infusion and then had to take a pill for a matter of months once he left the hospital. Not only are blood clots painful but if they break loose from your arm or leg and travel they can end up in other parts of the body and really do some damage. Brain = stroke. Heart = heart attack. Lung = inability to breathe.Go get it checked out if you haven't already. You may get a lecture on quitting your habit but you won't get into any legal trouble at the hospital. We want everyone to be safe and healthy, addicts included. If you continue to inject you may want to consider 81 mg aspirin a day. It thins your blood out and reduces the risk of complications from clots.

Why does the arm get sore after a tetanus shot?

Others have mentioned reactions and inflammation, but I wonder if part of it may also sometimes be the way the shot is given. I know that Novocaine shots always felt quite painful before I found my current dentist (35 years ago!) I asked him about this at one point after complimenting him on the amazingly painless shots he gave.In response he pointed the needle over toward the sink several feet away and briefly pushed down on the plunger. The liquid arced through the air and splashed against the back of the sink. He then looked at me and said, “Now if I tried to give you the shot quickly by pushing the plunger that hard, imagine what it would do to all the tissue that stream would be hitting!”His “secret method” seemed to lie in simply taking an extra couple of seconds to squeeze the shot in slowly.I have also found this to be the case with a particular shot giver at a local Rite-Aid, a wonderful gal named Annie who gives the most incredibly painless shots for flu, shingles, and AND tetanus!MJM, who was NOT liked by doctors as a child due to the earsplitting high-pitched screams emitted during shot administrations…

Woke up and my arm hurt. Feels like I got a shot?

I woke up this morning and my left arm hurt really bad. It feels really sore like after you get a shot but I didn't do anything like this yesterday. I didn't do any weight lifting or working out yesterday either. I cannot figure out why it hurts so much or what I should do to make it better.

I got a shot today and now my arm hurts, what can I do to make it feel better?

The best thing to do is apply a cold compress for 10-15 mins at a time. Take it off and apply again, alternating. Cold is the only thing that will calm down the inflammation and help numb the pain. Take some Tylenol or Advil as that will help with the inflammation also. Do not apply any kind of topical medication, especially something like Icy Hot. Icy Hot can be irritating to anything that is open and a shot, no matter how small the needle, creates a opening from the needle in which something like that can seep under the skin and burn and irritate the skin. This may cause an even bigger problem for you.
So, just apply ice and wait for the swelling and irritation to go away. The medication is what is causing you the problem. It needs time to fully disperse and your arm needs time to calm down from the trauma of the shot. Also just keep your arm still for tonight and tomorrow begin to start using it even though it may hurt some. If you don't start to use it it will stiffen up on you and really hurt. Good luck to you! Hope you feel better real soon! :-)

What does it mean when my arm swells after shooting meth? It's red and warm when injecting meth and hurts?

It means that you’ve missed your shot. Now it’s trapped under your skin and it will remain a slightly less painful lump. Now you have to just leave it alone but keep a close eye on it so that it doesn’t become absessed. Don’t shoot up in that same spot either. It can become REALLY infected then. You should be alright for now as long as you don’t keep spiking that same spot. If it becomes absessed, you can go the hardcore route and take another unused, clean hypadermic/ syringe and stick in there and pull on the plunger to suck out the zit like puss that could build up in there. Don’t go driving another loaded rig in there. It could double your problem. Most likely it will settle back to normal after a about a week. If it don’t, the redness and swelling get worse you’ll have to get it “lanced”. Either by doing it yourself with a clean, CLEAN rig or….go to the hospital to have them do it. If you go to the hospital, don’t lie,or make some shit up like it’s an allergic reaction to a spider bite or some shit like that. That is what will piss them right the fuck off. It’s better to tell them the truth. They might give you shit about it, but they will fix it for you. Whatever you do, DON’T panic and call an ambulance, because then the cops might get involved. Just have someone drive your ass there, or better yet drive yourself there. The less people that know about it, the better. Later on down the road you can brag about your “war wound”.

My right arm sometimes hurts?

I'm 22, and my right arm hurt sometimes. Like last year for example when I was 21 some mornings it would hurt so bad that i had to move it slowly otherwise OUCH! I don't have those pains anymore.. But sometimes when i'm driving or sitting at my computer my right arm will hurt. It's not on the forearm. It's up near the shoulder. Take a look at the picture below (this is not me lol, it's just a picture I found online). Look at this person's picture and look at that black thing on his right arm. That's pretty much the area where the pain is on my arm. I can seem to deal with it fine. But i never have this pain in my left arm. It's always been my right one.

If i stretch my arm out and randomly just move it around the pain goes away. The pain is not constantly there, it goes away. The mornings at this point in time are not rpainful at all. I haven't really had any issues moving it in the morning. Last year it was weird cause i had to move it slow on a few occasions but now the pain is there, but enough where it really hurts or prevents me from doing anything. Just concerned what the issue might be.
