Why Does Yahoo Not Run Virus Scans On Email Sent To Me. I Received And Email With A Trojen

Can a trojan virus spread through emails YOU send?

Yes it may happen but you should try to scan any file you get via e-mail using a good anti virus software before opening it

My yahoo email has trojan, sending out massive emails with virus. How to eliminate virus/or acct?

I've scanned the computer, changed the password, but no luck. I'm scared to use it because it sends email to my whole list (and perhaps more) and that includes a link to a virus. It's a paid account yahoo plus account. How do I close it or get rid of trojan?

My computer and email were hacked but no virus was found on scan?

I would recommend to scan your system with these security software:

Exe Radar Pro to monitor any process that runs in the system (has built-in anti-malware):

SuperAntispyware to scan for spyware and other threats:

Avast Antivirus to have a good antivirus protection:

How do you get a Trojan, did someone send me a virus on my e-mail?

Probably from the threat detected website. Do a full scan right away and remove all Trojans. These are always serious.

For future reference:
If any website says you have a virus, don't click anything. Log out, and back in. Even clicking cancel or closing a fake "Virus Detefcted" window can infect your computer.

How do I remove a trojan horse which is sending emails on my behalf?

I think I have a trojan horse or worm on my computer which is sending ut 100s of emails from my machine, using my email address but a different user name. I know this is happening because I am getting a ton of "Deliver Status Notification Failures" for emails I never sent.

One I am looking at right is

From: Meghan Rainey [cjpeltz@comcast.net]
To: nellysnaughtygyrl@msn.com
Subject: Things I enjoy are

cjpeltz@comcast.net is ME, but I never sent this email even though the delivery failure notice appeared in my Inbox.

So, my key question is is there a way that I can fix this without buying a ton of expensive software? Something open source would be nice, or a recommendation from someone on how I can manually remove this.

Emails are being sent from my yahoo address without my knowledge and consent?

Ignore it. Because of email's poor security features, there is very little that you can do to prevent this. Fortunately, the problem is often short-lived. There will probably be a flurry of such messages, then it will drop off.

I doubt that the messages are coming from your Yahoo account. Probably some spammer has decided to use your address as a fake sender's address. There is also some possibility that your computer or a friend's computer is infected with a spam-sending virus that has pilfered your address book. You could try running an anti-virus/anti-spyware scanner to see if you find anything on your computer.

Just about the only way to stop it completely would be to create a new address, send it to all your friends, and tell them to start blocking messages coming from your old address. However, I don't consider this to be a reasonable solution.

What do I do with an email containing a Trojan infected Excel file? Do I just delete it?

I am glad you asked this intelligent question in as more open-minded manner as possible.First of all, you should have never opened the Excel attachment if it came from some untrustworthy person or email you don't recognize. That's a missed opportunity. Which means you opened the Excel already to find out that it was suspicious Excel files/document. If it contains Trojan files…it has already infected that machine or computer. You were unprepared for that to happen.Second, since you already have a clue of which email came with files that could dangerously affect you computer/device, you need to scan the device or files if it is has accessed your system memory or just simply quarantine that files if it came from someone who you thought they were trustworthy. Otherwise notify the sender If you know them advise them to verify that file was send from them directly. It could be that someone is impersonating someone's email to install a remote access tool using Excel like files.Third, delete the files and ensure that the future email from that same sender never reaches your email inbox. Use Spam filters on your email client or find out what other secure options are available for your email services.Good luck !!

What is a trojan virus ?

A Trojan Horse Virus is basically a program that hides within files and then attacks your computer when you download it.

Anyone with hacker software and a little brains can make a trojan and unleash it. However, they can be difficult to control. They are classified as viruses, because computers are constantly sharing info with the network and other computers, so it is easy for another computer to catch a virus.

The scary thing is that computer viruses can be hidden in almost any file, including image files. So people who open emails from strangers or visit unsecure sites may be at risk. And everyone is at risk if they don't have either a Firewall or an Anti-Virus program installed.

Sometimes viruses can be designed specifically to steal files and then delete them from the host, you may have seen something like that in a TV drama or a techno-thriller movie recently. Sometimes a virus will lie dormant or use one computer to carry itself to other computers.

There are people called hackers who for many reasons create viruses. Sometimes they want to steal files or money. Sometimes it is terrorism, sometimes it's just a geeky kid who's bored and way to smart for his own good.

To stop viruses, you should find Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware software. McAffe and Norton are the best companies to trust. But you should ask your friends. There are some good free alternatives too. Like Avast and AShampoo.

But please please do research first, because some sites offer anti-virus software, but really it's just a front for criminals...you download their program and they use it to steal your files and kill your computer!

Don't open strange emails or download attachments without scanning them first. Gmail offers a free attachment scan. So do a few other email services.

Also, if you're on a site, and hundreds of pop-ups start, that's a bad sign, avoid that website!

How do you send someone a virus to someone's computer using an email?

You send it as an attachment to the mail.If you are infected with the virus, you don't even have to consciously do it. If you are infected, the virus has [at least partial] control of your computer and can add attachments to your mail without you knowing it. It can even send the mail by itself, either claiming it was from you or from someone else. In fact, a computer which isn't yours can send the mail and make it seem like it is coming from you [this is called spoofing].Viruses are very good at spreading. They don't need your help. Personally, if you are considering doing this as a malicious or vengeful act, I almost hope karma teaches you a lesson by forcing you to endure this yourself. I actually don't, because it is not a fate I can wish on anyone. Neither should you.If you are wondering, how you may have done it unintentionally? See the above. If your computer has a virus, you need to get it healed. From then on, practice the best hygiene you can. Don't visit dodgy sites. No pornography, no get rich quick schemes, no pirated movies, songs, software. Etc. That won't prevent people from spreading viruses, but it might help make it sufficiently un-lucrative that people try other scams.
