You should do some additional research. The peppered moth story has been proven to be a hoax! The evolutionists doing the research GLUED the moths to tree trunks to take their pictures. These moths are rarely found on tree trunks. They normally rest on the underside of leaves. Even if the story was true it demonstrates absolutely nothing about evolution. The moth population ALWAYS contained both light and dark colored moths. Obviously if one color of moths could not be camouflaged and was eaten by predators, the population would naturally shift to the other group. What your other respondents have not told you is that the moth population has now shifted back to the original color. The shifting of EXISTING traits is irrelevant to the theory of evolution which states that NEW traits must evolve if a molecule became a man over billions of years.

All except number 2 apply (the genetics behind melanism in Peppered Moths is now known, and not knowing them wouldn't be evidence supporting evolution and/or natural selection). Number 3 could potentially be a sampling bias, but enough 'experiments' have been carried out to suggest that it is not, and it has been shown that (1) the moths will rest naturally on tree trunks & (2) the more typical resting place is medium sized branches - where the colour contrast would still occur. Also, the changes in the dominance of different colour morphs IS an example of evolution (which doesn't require that ne genes, or new species, are produced, only that the existing ones change their frequency in the population.
