Why Wont The Uk Government Acknowledge Drugs Policy

Why doesn't the American government just ban guns?

Hey there!I have done gun debates at school… And let me tell you this, right from the gecko. Don’t join the hate gun club. Here’s a general, brief statement of a ten page essay that I wrote. I will leave a link to the essay if you want to read it.1 - Funny you mention China because last I heard was numerous mass STABBINGS in China. Where men with knives would walk into a kindergarden classroom, stab the teachers, children, etc… Funny how the media doesn’t point that out. ESPECIALLY since it happened close to the date of the Sandy Hook shooting.2 - Taking away guns reduces our chance of fighting back against the government if it say, is deciding to turn into a dictatorship… *cough* *cough* China *cough* *cough* Don’t even get me started on the horrendous human rights violation in China and no one can do anything because guess what? They get sent to camps where they get harvested for organs… WITH GUNS THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAVE!3 - Researchers have shown that shootings happen not because guns are evil, but of mental health issues. Sandy Hook and numerous other shootings are by people who have grown from a horrendous childhood (Sandy Hook kid was bullied intensely by his peers) or an extremist (2016 shooting in a gay club by you know, straight guys). So ban guns and ignore the problem or should we say cut off part of a cancer and let it grow back?4 - Its way better to train people in gun usage, like a police course 101, but less intensive and more friendly. Research have shown that VIOLENT teens who have gone through martial arts programs are calmer and more productive members of society. Going back to number 3, what was it about mental health?5 - Guns are a great self defense tool. You might say, “Guns are evil.” But picture your sixteen year old beautiful daughter in the house when burglars invade. Would you rather come home and comfort your daughter for defending the house or would you rather come home, find her naked and gang raped? Your choice. (Yeah, I know, damsel in distress and all that, sorry feminists!)To me the hate gun club is just, horrendously… Wrong. If the people would just spend two seconds doing research, they would find a better long term solution. Pretending that gun don’t exist doesn’t make it disappear, it is there, and it can be used for good…Thanks with much respect,Kent ZhengGun, Harder or Easier to Get? - Kent Zheng

Why did British a former enemy propose a common policy on Latin America?

Because it the Monroe Doctrine suited the British - it kept the Spanish, French and Dutch out of the Americas, and maintained our trade with the USA.
It allowed us to establish the "informal Empire" in much of South America - where Britain built the railways, telephone networks and dominated trade.
In fact, the US were in no position to police the doctrine, the US Navy was too small, but the Royal Navy - the largest navy in the World until 1946 - could police it.

The bigger question is why did the US propose the doctrine, when it could not police it, and it only really benefited Britain?

Whataburger Orientation, Drug Testing?

I have orientation in a few hours and was wondering if Whataburger drug test during orientation. Mine isn't being held in store, it's at some office like environment. I'm hoping it's just for paperwork and videos. But I need to know if it would be for drug testing as well???

AP Gov and Pol questions. Would you mind checking my answers?

1. A city council’s refusal to tolerate a pro-life rally most likely is a result of the city residents’
shared public sentiment against the ralliers’ beliefs.
European-style lack of interest in civic involvement.
refusal to acknowledge the American value of political tolerance.
unusually high levels of trust in decisions of the city government.
overwhelming majority of progressive political thinkers.

I chose (A)

2. The U.S. system of voting largely reflects a belief in
 equality among citizens.
 individual responsibility.
 a strong central government.
 separation of church and state.
the superiority of the ruling class.

I chose (B) because of civic duty perhaps? It could probably be (A) but I think (B) sounds better overall.

3. The growth of direct primaries has resulted in which of the following major change to political parties?
Political parties, instead of the Senate, host and determine the rules for direct primaries.
National conventions held by major parties, instead of congressional caucuses, nominate candidates for primaries.
Citizens can no longer run for an elective office without the approval and support of an organized political party.
Private fund-raising by primary candidates has given way to public financing of political parties.
Political parties have less influence over the elected, because the parties cannot control

This one I'm really not too sure about. I don't know if (C) would be correct at all, but I'm torn between (A) and (B)

Why drugs and prostitution legal in Amsterdam?

First of all 'Amsterdam now a rich country?' is nonsensical. Amsterdam is a city in the Netherlands, which is listed at no. 11 in terms of Global Competitiveness - not bad for a nation with 16 million inhabitants.

Second 'Because they are not Christians!!' is also nonsensical. There are many Christians living in Amsterdam. My brother-in-Law has an uncle who ministered to the prostitutes for many years. His church was one of the most popular in Amsterdam.

Tax generated is negligible, true - research suggests only a minority pay taxes, mainly because working illegally is still more advantageous, or there are concerns about being openly registered - and stigmatised - as a sex worker.

Regulation however, IS a valid reason, and that's precisely why brothels were legalised in 2000: to protect the underaged, illegal, to reduce related criminality, to protect prostitutes. In 2006 there will be an evaluation of this policy.

Prostitution itself has always been legal in the Netherlands, mainly because it's proven impossible to ban in any country and there is concern about the welfare of prostitutes. Read the wikipedia article for a more succinct response.

As for drugs: in the Netherlands, drugs are considered a public health issue, not a criminal matter. And there is definitely a distinction between hard drugs and soft drugs.

Like prostitution, it's based on the belief that when faced with a social problem it is better to acknowledge it and take steps to regulate it, instead of enforcing laws that fail to stop the problem.

Perhaps not everyone agrees, but the Netherland IS a society where different opinions can be voiced and debated, and contribute to the shaping of policy.

It sure beats ignorance.

Do you think that the assimilation policy adopted by the U.S. goverment was a good idea?

assimilation is just a nice word in place for " you better adopt to American ways or else." foreigners came to America because they hoped for better life. instead they got put in the dirtiest homes and given bad paying jobs. They wanted to express their culture and instead they had to change to American ways because Americans were afraid of new culture. Assimilation doesn't accomplish anything except sore feelings.

I have to take this for working at cvs, even thought i dont work in pharmacy please help?

Just look over the study guide they must have handed out. Read it and this quiz will be much easier.
