How do I know what ring size to get if my size is 7 1/2 US? Do I get an 8 (ring sizes are only available in full numbers)?

First of all, make sure of your ring size by visiting a reputable jeweler. Most will not charge you as they may anticipate a future sale and should offer a measuring service free of charge.Once you know your exact size, you can look around for a supplier that’s has the required style of ring in that size. If you are buying a ring online, do not trust any sizes quoted on any website. Instead check the circumference of the ring and contact the supplier if necessary. There is a lot of variation in size between different suppliers and a precise measurement will avoid any disappointment at a later date. I wrote an article about ring sizes which you can read for further information. Ring Size: What you need to know before buying a ring online.

Will a size 7 ring fit on a 6.5 finger? Or should I stick with 6?

It can, but one issue that people don’t tend to account for is the width of the band itself. If you get your fingers measured with a skinny ring sizer, and then try to put a wide band on that’s the same size, it will likely feel too tight. It is entirely possible to have to go up a half size or more if your finger measurement was taken with a thin sizer and you want to purchase a wide band.Ring sizes are purely a measure of circumference and don’t account for the squishy flesh of your finger when you slide an actual ring on. If you plan to wear a wide band, get sized with a wide ring sizer. If narrow, same deal. If you’re not sure, get a smaller one and consult with your jeweler about having it stretched up to fit you exactly. Going up a half size is minimal and stretching tends to be nicer, structurally, than having to cut a piece out and solder it back together.

What ring size would a 5'3, 115 lb. girl be?

Well, I hate to tell you, but finger size but not have anything to do with how tall someone is and how much they weigh.

It is, however, a decent place to start.

I am 5'4" and 115lbs, and my ring size is 4.25. I have very skinny fingers.

If you can't get her ring size somehow (steal a ring she has, talk to her mom, talk to her best friend, etc.) then take a wild guess and go for a 5.5-6. Better a little too big at first than a little too small! After all, you want to be able to slip that ring on when she says Yes! Also get a lifetime warranty for the ring, and that will allow her to get the size changed as many times as she needs to throughout her life, free of charge!

Good luck and congrats!

Do tiffany rings fit smaller than other rings? Or are ring sizes universal in Canada and the U.S.?

Hi there

I went to go get my ring resized at Tiffany's today, because my husband gave me an extra band for our anniversary, and the whole ring got too tight because of the added stack.

I went up quite considerably (4.5 to a 5).

Do Tiffany's rings fit smaller? I recall trying on my friend's engagement ring the other day, it was 4.75 but felt pretty loose.

I ask this because I am worried that I should have tried on a smaller size...Are ring sizes universal, or have people noticed a difference between jewelers?

What ring size would fit an average 6 yr old girl, or 11 yr old girl?

I have a ring that's approximately 5/8th inch in diameter, and I was considering giving it to my 6 year old sister or my 11 year old sister. The problem is, I don't know what size their fingers are, and I don't want to present it to them if it doesn't actually fit, because as soon as either of them sees it they'll be understandably disappointed if it doesn't fit.

I am pretty sure it's way too big for the 6 yr old, but might it fit the 11 year old? What's the typical size of their fingers on average?

What Ring size would an 11 year old wear?

I'm trying to find a gift for my friends daughter. She is 11, but I don't know what her size is. I don't have time to get her finger measured by a pro but maybe I can? Please don't Respond with just go to a jeweler. Also do you think she would like an infinity ring?
