Will Dressing Up As A Scene Kid For Halloween Offend Real Scene Kids

Dress like a scene queen?

I haven't heard of half of the people you mentioned, are they all the pop-Myspace generation? First things first - DO NOT FOLLOW THEM. All you see of those popular Myspace kids is what you see on their Myspaces and in their photoshopped photographs, which they probably spend hours posing for. It takes ages to add 20, 000 froends onto your Myspace page. There people spend thier entire life trying to pose in photographs and clicking on an "add friends" button their whole lives. It takes a lot of time and effort to look that way! You don't see how sad they are in real life. To want to do something like that you would have to be pretty lonely in reality, something would have to be missing from your life to want to wake up one day and decide you want to sell yourself like that (except it isn't actually selling, because they are not getting paid for it).

Don't strive to be a label, ok Hun? Try to follow your own trends, create your own personality, be who you want to be.

When all these kids who have wasted their lives on the internet and taking photos of themselves are older they will be nothing but an embarassment to themselves and to the rest of society, they will have no job no money and will be nobody. The furthest you can get is Jeffree Star, and most of the people in my class haven't even heard of him. The only people who have heard of him are the people who are sad and spend the whole of their lives on the internet. Don't idiolise people like this.

As for clothes, the main fashion appears to be kawaii, or asain fashion, manga (like the japanese cartoons), crazy hair, tight funky coloured clothes, hair extensions and a LOT of makeup. Hot Topic is aiming there, but their aim is a bit more dark and venting towards the emo/goth/skater scene.

Jewellery is all DIY, practically every single Scene Queen on Myspace shops at LoveBites and Bruises: http://www.lovebitesandbruises.com and then resells their jewellery on their Myspace stores or personal websites.

Just be who you are.

What would be a good halloween costume for a scene kid.?

Ok no mean to be rude or anything, but scene kids are real, not like vampires or anything....I mean do you see a witch walking along the street? or frankenstein riding a bike?No you dont. But do you see scene kids shopping in the mall? Yes! Scene kids are real and are not halloween costumes,so why dont you go as something else, rather then going as something that actually exists.....And people will think that, you dont look like a halloween costume at all,and maybe some people will think your a poser...

Why do you hate scene kids?

This may not apply to you, but I would adore your opinion if it does. Just in case you were wondering I for a fact do NOT hate scene kids. Some of you might leave a reply with a comment suggesting labels as a "horrible thing" but in todays society we cannot escape them. Except it. Once again I would benifit greatly on your feed back justifying your hatred towards scene kids.
Thanks :DD

What was YOUR most successful Halloween costume?

Hummmm… Do I want to admit to my hooker black cat or should I just admit I was a realistic nurse?Hooker cat was black short shorts, fishnet pantihose, black sheer top over a black tank, black hair, cute ears headband, a tail that was the right length for a cat my size, cat whiskers and nose done with my eyeliner and finished off the outfit with some black satin 5+ inch f-me pumps. My nurse was a classic white uniform dress, a little old style nurse cap, my white sketcher tennies with pink trim, an optional lab coat, white hose, a punny name tag and I added a real pink stethoscope.

Neighbor kid is dressing like Confederate soldier for Halloween. PLZ HELP?

I think you all have some misunderstandings about the south, the civil war, and the history of our country in general.

While the question of slavery precipitated the civil war, this was not entirely why it was fought.

The economy of the south was based almost entirely on slave labor. When abolitionism started to spread in the northern states, southerns began to worry what would happen to them if slavery was to be abolished in all states. When Abraham Lincoln, who was an abolitionist, won the election southerners took this as a sign that slavery would be abolished in the south, even though Abe said he had no intention of doing such a thing (he may not have even had the authority to do so). Acting on fear, a decision was made in the south that the souther states would remove themselves from the union...remember, it was united STATES. Most countries are country states, and at the time of the civil war, the federal government still did not have the level of power over the states that it has today. The southern states, still seeing themselves as independent regions, felt they had every right to leave the union, however the larger government disagreed.

And so began the civil war. The southern states were fighting for what they thought was their right to stately independence and to protect the only type of economy they knew.

The northern states were fighting to uphold the strength of the union and the ideal of democracy. It wasn't so much that every union soldier cared to end slavery (though this became more so towards the end of the war) but if a state was permitted to leave the union just because they did not like the outcome of a democratic election, then that would open the flood gates for other states to do so when they felt it was in their best interest, effectively destroying the union and undermining democracy.

So you see, it wasn't really about slavery in such a straight forward sense.

What is the difference between scene and emo?

Emos tend to go more towards black things (Hair, dark eyeliner, black clothes etc) whereas scene is more colourful and bright. Scene girls for example usually go for back-combed blonde hair with coloured streaks and long extensions. Emo girls would prefer plain black hair. Hello Kitty hair clips and bright flashy myspace pages seem to be a particular favourite for scene kids too. Hope that helped :)

Interracial Scene Kid couples?

Okay this question is for "scene/emo" kids or anyone else really...

1.Would a white "emo/scene boy date a black emo/scene girl? and i know what your gonna say: "race doesn't matter blah blah blah" but I want a opinion from a real "emo/scene" kid not a opinion from someone who only thinks they know what they are talking about.
2. Why would/wouldn't a white scene/emo boy date a black scene/emo girl?
3. Are there any pictures of interracial scene/emo couples anywhere? Because I never seem to be able to find any...

Oh and I'm REALLY sorry if i offend anyone... if just trying to prove a point to a friend

Why is Disney's Moana Halloween costume controversial?

Well I don’t really know but I read somewhere that it apparently had to do with the Polynesian culture. Here a couple of links and what people have said and their reasons.Brooklyn Mom Says It’s Offensive for White Girls to Dress Up As Moana for Halloween — Here’s WhyShould you allow your child to dress as Moana? Please keep in mind, when they are complaining about the appearance of the characters of Disney. Disney actually based the characters of their countries of origin. It’s basically (In my opinion) everyone just being too sensitive, they think cultures have to be walked on like eggshells or someone will get offended. In the second article (at the bottom) there even was a statement from a Polynesian that said they were fine with it. People would only be offended if you for example, Dressed as a KKK or someone Someone who promotes and causes harm to innocents. But really why would children care? Please keep in mind this is just my opinion and I am not trying to offend anyone.

What are your favorite childhood memories of Halloween?

The greatest Halloween of my childhood was the time it was thunderstorming all day and I couldn't go trick or treating.I was all excited about my costume (an aluminum foil robot) but I sat around after school in it, watching the downpour and hoping against hope. When the word came down from on high (a/k/a “mom") that I couldn't go trick or treating, I was crushed. She said I could go down to the basement and play video games (it was a lousy Radio Shack console with lousy games, but it was still video games). I glumly clumped downstairs.Maybe a half hour later, she said, “Marshall! Come upstairs!” I went up, still depressed…and my mom handed me my trick or treat bucket (a plastic hollowed-up jack-o-lantern). “Time for trick or treat!” she said, and extended her hand like one of those showcase models on “The Price Is Right.”The storm was pounding away. Puzzled, I followed my mom's gesture…and noticed the sliding door to the living room was closed. My mom nodded to me and said, “Go say ‘trick or treat.’”I knocked on the door, called out the time-honored holiday phrase--and the door slid open…to reveal my Grandpa Joe with a little bowl of Three Musketeers. He saw my astonishment, and being a man of few words, he simply chuckled as he dropped a few bars into my jack-o-lantern.Now mom pointed down the hall. Every door--all three bedrooms, the bathroom, even the closet-- were closed. And each time I knocked on a door and said “Trick or treat,” the door would open to surprise me with a different beaming relative holding a different candy: Uncle Mike with Bun bars. Uncle Carmy with Milk Duds. My great--grandma “Bobi" Mary (I still miss her) with Marathon bars (anyone remember those?). My cousin Daniel with Whoppers malted milk balls. Then my mom told me to go back to doors which i'd already been to. This time it was Auntie Judy. Grandma Ann. Cousin Sharon. And finally my dad, with the biggest Hershey bar I'd ever seen.My mother had taken the time to recruit virtually every relative nearby to make sure I still got my Halloween. And of course I asked if I could do it all again. And again. And again. It was by far the most creative and magical Halloween of my life. And to this day, I'm still touched at my wonderful mother's thoughtfulness. And her thoughtfulness continues to this day.
