Will Getting More Ram Memory Make Sims 3 Run Faster

If i buy more RAM will the sims 3 run faster?

i dont think you have a graphic card. you got some intergrated piece of **** that uses a marketing term to let you think you have a card, while it really is just a low powered graphic chip.

go buy a graphic card if u can install it. if not, forget the rams.

hmm.. i do want best answer since i just read everyone elses answer and they're all crap. no the ram will not do anything. 2gb is all u need really for any computer to do almost anything. obviously, working with larger files requires more ram, but you will probably never work with a file bigger than 1gb in your life. (I said work, not watch a large video file.) so yes, u need a graphic card. Depending on your processor also, you might need to upgrade. Almost all modern processor is fine good enough, unless your computer is back in the single core Pentium days.

Will add more ram make my sims 3 game run faster?

Okay so I'm not the most technically advanced person. I have an hp laptop with 4 gb of ram. The sims games I have are the sims 3, ambitions, generations, into the future, late night, pets, seasons, show time, and supernatural. Every time I added a new expansion pack to the sims 3 it would run slower and slower and even stop working. So if I buy 4 gb of ram and add it to my laptop will my sims game run faster? Or what should I do?

How can I make the Sims 3 run faster?

I went to system requirements lab and I pass pretty easily, but the game plays slow. I lower all of the graphics options all the way down and it's still pretty slow. There isn't a recommended tab for the Sims 3. So I was wondering what you recommend.

I have:

Windows XP
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz
3.20 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.2 GHz
1gb of RAM
256mb of Video RAM

How can I make it run faster?

Does The Sims gets harder to run as I install more and more expansions?

I’m not sure that it’s the GB size of the actual packs that matter, but yes the more content you have in your game the slower it will be, at least when loading. I’ve noticed this with each one over the years. Especially if you also use CC (Custom Content). It will take longer to load certain parts of the game, namely CAS and Build Mode. Because stuff packs and expansions add, well, more stuff for the game to load in.Edit: Just a little note I thought I’d add, I know that it definitely does affect it because it happens to me too, I could run the base game alone on High, but the more expansions and stuff packs I add the slower it starts to run and I have to turn the graphics down, and that’s without CC. I took out all of my custom content a while ago to find one faulty file, my game ran a lot better without all the extra stuff to load. Also it may be worth adding that with The Sims 3, they added an option to disable and enable whatever packs you wanted each time you open the launcher, specifically for performance reasons. So it’s definitely nothing wrong with your computer, the sheer amount of stuff you put in it can certainly start to slow it down.

If I uninstall programs, would this make my computer run faster?

It wont make your computer run faster necessarily. Technically what slows down your computer is not usually what is stored on the hard drive but what programs are running in the background. Upon booting up your computer, the operating system starts running programs that are placed in the startup. Some are necessary to keep and others can be "disabled" so that the unnecessary processes don't eat your available resources (memory) and slow down the computer. To check your startup you can click Start, then in the run box type in "msconfig". Once there make your way to the startup tab at the top and take a look at what is in there. If you see things that are not necessary you may disable them and this might help with the speed. To top things off, I would also recommend that you do a disk defrag which will help as well.

Can I run sims 3 with 1.40 GHz, 4Gb ram, ATI Radeon HD 4330 512mb?

My Processor is Intel Core 2 Solo processor. and my ram IS a 4Gb DDR3.

I just wanna know now if I can upgrade my graphics card? Is that possible? Because I heard laptops can't be upgraded. But on my laptop, it says;
"ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 Up to 1742mb.
Does that mean I can upgrade it?

Will an ASUS 17.3" laptop with 8GB memory allow me to play The Sims 3?
