Will I Get Accepted Into Uci

Can I be accepted into UCI?

Those grades aren't bad. Hell, they're good enough for maybe the big 3. UCSD-worthy. But it sounds like you're just trying to take those classes not because you want to, but because you are forced to.

But have you done anything other than schoolwork? UC's look for diverse people. Grades, honestly, aren't everything. SAT's aren't everything. Community involvement...clubs, leadership experience, work etc.. are important.
Your personal essay is a pretty big deciding factor as well.

Depending on what you want to do as a career...take those AP's. They really are beneficial. I BS'd my way through my calculus course in high school and regretted it, because it turns out it is really useful in college.
Don't just take these classes just to look good on your transcript for college. They really are useful later in college.
Take another year of spanish if you'd like, but that thing about 6 classes during senior year...complete BS. I had like 4 classes my senior year and I got into UC Berkeley. It's really more about you as a person overall and what you do in AND out of school.
But yes, take those AP's and challenge yourself.

Anyway, to answer your main question, yes they look good enough for UCI.
I know people who just do schoolwork and be lazy and get like a 3.3 GPA and got in. But don't be like them.

My chances at getting accepted at UCI?

Based on the stats that you gave me of a 1770 SAT and 4.13 UC GPA, don't foget about the two subject tests you have to take in two different concentrations. I say you have a really great shot at getting into UC Irvine. Your SAT is what is holding you back because it is signicantly lower than your GPA. I cannot assess your extra curriculars because each UC Campus has a different way at looking at them.

Some stats you might want to know about UC Irvine:

Admits: 20,587
Applicants: 42,429
High School GPA: 3.95
ACT Composite Score: 26

You should definitely look into the other UC campuses, here are the following average SAT scores of admitted students into the UC Campuses:

UCLA: 2003
UC San Diego: 1943
UC Irvine: 1839

What are my chances of getting accepted into UCLA and UCI for nursing (SAT score=1340 and GPA=4.23)?

Can I still get accepted to UCD, UCSB & UCI with 3 Cs from my sophomore year?

Yes you could, admissions is more than just grades. They consider extracurricular activities, admission essays, and standardized test scores. That being said, make sure your grades after your sophomore year are considerably better, and that this was just a bad streak in your academic career. To me, grades are just a small part of the picture now, with lots of applicants having stellar GPAs and SAT scores. The big thing that separates everyone apart is their extra-curricular activities, or letters of recommendation. The kid who achieved major change in his community, is a nationally competitive athlete or started a successful startup stands out more than just one who got a good GPA and SAT score. There are other ways that show your grit and dedication than just academics.

Will I get into UCSB if I got denied from UCD?

These are my scores and such, but I've heard that UCI and UCD now rank higher than UCSB? IS this true?

I am applying for bio at these schools, and I already got accepted into Cal Poly SLO and Loyola Marymount University. I am also Catholic and have 120+ internship hours at two local dentist offices.

UC Irvine early acceptance?

I got accepted into uci in mid Feb. I'm not an elc student or anything, but does that mean I have a better chance of getting accepted into other UCs as well?
I applied to ucla, cal, ucsd, uci, and ucd.

If I was accepted into the UCI Honors Program, how are my chances looking for getting into UCLA or Berkeley?

It's really hard to tell, they each do their own thing. The admitted freshman average stats for UCLA and Berkeley are higher than for UCI.

Did you receive an email invitation from UCLA to apply for the Regents Scholarship? While that isn't a sure thing that an applicant is going to be admitted (especially if they are applying to certain programs where the department makes the decision, like Theater), it shows that an applicant is at the very top of all applicants, I think it's the top 1.5%. Application was due in early February.

Did you receive an email invitation from Berkeley to apply for the Leadership Scholarship? It states on the email that the invitation does not indicate your admission status. However, receiving the invitation does indicate that one is a strong candidate. Application is due soon.

That being said, admission to UCLA or Berkeley can be a crapshoot. Not so much as in the past, but some top students aren't admitted, and some that will need extra support for academics are admitted (who aren't recruited athletes). I know someone (CA resident) who was denied at Berkeley, but admitted to Harvard, Georgetown, etc. UCLA and Berkeley both consider your personal statement and it can play a good part in admissions as long as one is basically qualified.

At least you know that you are already in one great college! (My son was accepted to his top two choices, one early and one early notification due to scholarship consideration, thank goodness or the months up to April would be awfully stressful. Better to have a very very tough decision.)

Good luck!

Is UC Irvine hard to get into? Will it be for me?

Your SAT scores are 100 points lower than they should be on each section of the SAT and that will work against you at a large state school like UCI. Your grades are also somewhat erratic -- high grades your first two years in English, for instance, and then low grades your junior year. I would guess that you'll struggle with your two AP courses this year since they are both math-based and you seem weakest in math and science. The odds aren't good that you'll get into UCI, so you should select some other schools where you have a better chance of acceptance.

Will I get into UC Irvine?

I'm a Junior going to be a senior (graduating in 2013) and I'm hoping for some realistic opinions from a third perspective. I beyond any imaginable lust want to go to UC Irvine. I have a 3.8 weighted GPA, And currently have a score of 1710 on my SAT, but that was without any major studying and I hope to retake it in September and I think I can reach 2000, I'm scheduled for the act in June but I don't expect much. I'm on the swim team and waterpolo team but I'm nothing special. I'm also a member of academic decathlon (which counts for 5 pts class credit first semester), and I'm also a member of groups like CSF (California scholarship federation) and cross cultural groups like One World Club and I am going to the building bridges (ethnic camp) at the end of the month. Next year I have 5 AP classes which will make a total of 8 AP classes to put on my transcripts. I know all this is good, but is it good enough for a UC? I'm just worried I won't stand out in the mass of applications.../: opinions appreciated!
