Will My Asthma Disqualify Me From Law Enforcement

Will my asthma disqualify me from Law Enforcement?

im 19, going into my sophomore year of college, and just switched over to Law enforcement and criminal justice. I was diagnosed with asthma at a very young age, but became active in sports and stuck with it all the way through high school, never had an issue with it. the kicker here is that I was disqualified from both the Marine Corps and Air Force 2 years ago because of my asthma. They had me take a Pulmonary Functions Test and my breathing is not perfect, even though I lead an active, athletic lifestyle. im hoping this is a way to continue that active lifestyle, and it's about as close to the military as i'll get.

Will asthma stop me from becoming a police officer?

If you can complete the tests and the further tests and work in the academy asthma will not likely keep you off the job. Just remember, thousands of other things might.
This is especially true with medium and larger departments.
Their personnel and medical people are professionals, not just some character who thinks they know about police work or the law.

Really not a problem as long as you are controlled and such things as a inhaler still works for you.

Will this disqualify me from becoming a police officer?

I'm a 20 year old female and I am 5"5 and weigh 150 pounds. I am currently in college and working towards earning 60 credits to go into the state police. I made the Deans list for this past semester. I have a few things that Im not sure if they will disqualify me from becoming a police officer. First, I have mild asthma. I only have to use my inhaler before I start exercising and then I'm fine. Second, I was in a situation at school where I had to defend myself against a girl who started attacking me. The police both charged us with a summons for harassment but the charge got dropped in court and the judge said that it will not show on our records. I am planning on getting it expunged in 20 days. Third, I got a concussion from the fight and I had to get put on anti depressants until the neurotransmitters in my head regulate. I have to go to a concussion specialist and counseling. Will any of this disqualify me from going into the state police?
