Will My Self Arm Cuts Fade Picture

Will my self harm cuts scar?

It most likely will scar for at least awhile. You must have a lot going on in your life if the only way you have found to relieve your pain is by cutting. Even though you didn't ask for help, I suggest going to a therapist immediately. The sooner you are able to talk about what is depressing you, the sooner you will start to feel better, or at least find other ways to cope besides cutting.

How long will pink self harm scars take to fade?

If they're not particularly thick or deep, it could be only a few months until they're not really noticeable at all, especially as it has already been five months. But scars fade pretty slowly even when they're well healed. Once they are faded, scars tend to always be a little bit shinier than regular skin, even if they otherwise blend in completely, but in most lights this isn't that noticeable. This shine will probably mean they'll never appear to be exactly skin colour, although the difference is subtle enough that most people won't pick up on it unless you're in unfortunate lighting.

Scars also aren't technically skin, so they don't tan, and they get sunburned much easier. A little bit of sun won't be a big problem and especially not for minor scars, but too much sun exposure for scars will make them a darker colour (and it won't match a tan, it'll likely be darker pink) and potentially thickens the scar tissue, which can make them puffy and more obvious. Like I said, probably not a problem if your scars are minor and already five months old, but natural tanning isn't a good way of hiding them - especially if they're paler than your normal skin, because the colour difference will only get worse. It can help if they're brownish and darker than your skin, though - but personally I'd fake tan if possible in that case.

Will my self harm scars ever fade (pictures)?

I`ve been cutting for a couple of years. Most of the cuts I think are not that deep; however about 3 months ago I attempted suicide and the cuts from that night are worse than the others. After that I started to get some help and I`m now beginning to feel hope for my life and my future; but along with the hopefulness my scars are hard for me to look at. I really can`t go out in public if people will see them; the feelings that caused my cutting are from insecurity, and I have social anxiety that causes me panic attacks. But at the same time I don`t think I can let my scars control my life if I want to get better.
I want to know if I can fade them to where they won`t be noticeable so I can wear short sleeves and go swimming again and just not have them control my life or make me feel bad about myself.

All of the cuts were made with a razor blade and I haven`t treated them with anything so far (I know, I should have) EDIT: before I even decided to upload this question I relapsed and cut again and I feel really guilty about it, so some of them are new (bright pink)

How long do self harm cuts take to fade?

About three weeks ago, I cut my thighs. 20 thin lines on each. The cuts only bled for about 10 minutes and then stopped. Just about a week ago they started to get scabbed over. They are now light lines, but still very noticeable.

So my question is: how long should it take for them to heal?

Keep in mind they are very small lines, not very deep, and only bled for about ten minutes.

And if you are wondering, I am definitely not planning on cutting again. Enough is enough, and I'm done. I decided to start drawing lines on paper when I get the urge to do it.

Will my self harm cuts leave scars?

Please don't judge me. I know what I do is wrong and I am currently getting help so please spare me the lectures. Anyways I've been cutting for a while now... I usually use a blade (taken out of a pencil sharpener) and I cut on my wrist. I'm not really sure if I go deep or not... I mean my cuts bleed. Quite a bit. For quite a while. I always have to wrap a bandage around my wrist in order to get the bleeding to stop. My wrist is kinda purple/blackish too. So will these cuts leave scars? For years? For life? Please answer seriously. If you're gonna take this as a joke then leave. Thanks in advance

Will applying vaseline over self-harmed cuts make them fade?

I don't know what those people are talking about
I've been in your situation, and if you have stopped, vaseline definitely helps the process, and really reduces the scarring.
If there are still scars there that are really visible, then bio-oil is actually amazing for it. Apply some shea butter every morning at least, and then use the bio-oil after that.

I really hopes that helps :)

How long will it take for a self-harm scar to fade? I think it was 2 mm deep. I really need to know. What can I do to speed up this process?

I have self-harmed on my forearm last year in February and March. My wounds varied from as shallow as your to cutting all of my layers of skin. I still have the scars, almost a year later, but some are more or less visible than others. When my mom found out she made me use creams to help the wounds heal, and it helped in scarring faster. I don’t know where you live, so I can’t search up something specific for you to use in this regard, but I’m sure there are some other ways to make them fade faster, one answer already put a link to help you with that. How to Get Rid of ScarsEasy Ways to Get Rid of Scars Fast | LEAFtvIt takes a long time for scars to fade, I have some that even after years and years they are as visible as day.I don’t know if I should make a photo of my scars to show you how much they fade in a year’s time, but if you ask I will edit the answer and put one.

How long does it take for self-harm scars to fade?

I have a loofa I scrub my scars with, just scrub them but not too rough. Then I have bath gloves that are a little rough for scrubbing so I go over the scars again with them while I'm scrubbing my whole self with a bit of a rough body scrub. There's several brands that make exfoliating body wash so just choose one you like. When I get out I rub Vitamin E into them. It does help but it takes time. It will help to make them fade tho. You can buy the capsules and snip them open or purchase a bottle of the pure oil. It is expensive but I've been using it for many years and it does work. Also, if at all possible talk to your mother about it. If you don't feel like you can talk to her directly, (If you’re still in school) speak with a school counsellor or the school nurse. Even a teacher you feel you can talk to or the principle if they aren't a uhmm… if they are someone you think you can talk to. Someone else gave the suicide hotlines and you can definitely call them. Even if you just wanted to hurt yourself but not kill yourself you can still call them. They are ready to deal with whatever kind of problems you're experiencing. You can do this. Let people help you learn how to cope in a different way. You're worth it and I have faith in you. Have faith in yourself.
