2.6 Gpa What Are My Chances

With a 2.8 GPa what are my chances to get into CSU LB and Fullerton with APs?

Junior year's the most important. You don't "balance" the GPAs. Looking at your last name, I'll assume you're Asian, which would make taking AP Chinese kind of pointless. Lastly, did you pass all the AP tests? Good luck with the SATs.

2.6 GPA = Okay for CSUF
AP Chinese = Refer above
AP Econ = Cool, cool
IB Psych = Ain't IB European-based? Hmmm......

What are my chances of getting into OCS w/ 2.6 GPA and...?

I have a pretty bad GPA (2.6)... Truth is, I never really cared for college and really the only reason I went was for the career opportunities that college promised (in the future). I'm 24 now, have a stable but boring office job... I miss being physically active and I wanted to join the military in the past, never really had the balls to do it until now though.

My PFT is 290 but with some more conditioning work, I'm confident I can get it to a perfect 300. I want to join the infantry or w/e combat related MOS is available when the choosing is done. I really wouldn't want to end up doing administrative or auxiliary work.

Do they have strict GPA requirements? In an informal conversation, an Army recruiter told me I have no chance getting accepted as an officer w/ a 2.6GPA.

What can be done to improve the possibility of being accepted?

I have a low GPA (2.5) what are my chances of being accepted into Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University?

Keep in mind this was several years ago, 20 years ago exactly, but I graduated high school with a 2.95 not because I was some dumb dumb but I played two sports and obviously there wasn’t enough time in the day to excel scholastically and athletically, at least it wasn’t for me.I wanted an MBA but my undergraduate grades would be an obstacle and my GMAT scores probably made some admissions officers laugh out loud. Since I was already a US Army reservist the Army made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. I could pursue my MBA through tuition assistance which in the first year of the Clinton Administration was paid at 100% but then that prick cut it to 50%. Nevertheless, I was able to earn my MBA and not accrue any student loans. Embry-Riddle, at least at the time, would put students who didn’t have fantastic high school grades and fantastic GMAT scores on academic probation for the first two semesters.Well, not only did I not have to worry about being on probation after my first year as my GPA was over 3.5, I graduated with a 3.65.I think not doing it the military way unless there’s been some things that have changed with your GPA your best bet would be to go to a community college get fantastic grades, most likely nothing less than a 3.85 and depending on what you plan on studying at Embry- Riddle spend money time and effort learning how to take the GRE or GMAT and score as high as you possibly can. If you plan on studying engineering, metallurgy, in other system-related subjects you may also want to take as many pre-requisite’s and score phenomenally well on those at shore community college.

2.6 GPA, whats my chances of getting into law school?

Just some background info

I graduated this past may from my undergrad and i'm currently lost on what I want to do with myself. I always wanted to be a lawyer from the time that I was a kid, but due to my college GPA, I don't really see that as a future for me anymore. So, I started considering going back to school for 2 years to get my teaching degree and teach secondary history (what I majored in). Then i started thinking about if I did that, law school would only be 1 more year of work and I could do what I've always wanted to do.

However, like I said the 2.6 GPA is really discouraging me from trying it for, I know I have to take the LSAT first, which I was thinking of doing next June, as this a full 11 months away, I'll have lots of time to prepare for it.

Was in a fraternity in college (social fraternity), but I held leadership positions, as well numerous philanthropies that we did for the community (had 2 or 3 we did every year). I've also helped to raise money for my local big brothers and big sisters back home.

Do I have any hope of getting into law school? If so, how slim are they? Also, I saw the list of tier schools for law school, are T4 schools really that worthless? (From what I hear anyways)

Lastly, If I should give this a shot and go for it, whats the best place to start studying for the LSAT? I'm guessing picking up one of the prepare books and also take a class for it (heard that that's really helpful)

Chances of getting in clark atlanta university with a 2.6 gpa and average SAT scores.?

I would suggest that you volunteered more and put everything including canceled clubs on your resume. You need to have more things to put on your resume that makes you look better! Even the smallest volunteering you can make look better then you might think. The fact you do not have that good of SAT scores you should consider taking the Act's people who do decent on the Sat's usually do better on the Act's. I would say you have a good chance of getting into Clark Atlanta University. But do not limit your self to one school!

My friend had a 2.8 GPA and about your SAT scores she got in!

Good Luck! =)

Very low science GPA, chances at law school?

Not very good. An overall GPA of 2.6 is unlikely to get you into law school in the near future. Poor performance in science classes doesn't bode well, because lawyers need analytical reasoning skills, which science helps develop. That wouldn't look good to law school admissions committees.

If you performed that poorly as an undergraduate, do you really think you're suited to graduate/professional study?

However, the further you can get from a poor undergraduate performance before applying to graduate/professional programs the better. Take more than a year off (at least 3 would be a good idea), get a decent job and perform well at it. Establish good relationships with employers who could write you recommendations. Do some interesting things with your non-work life.

Don't worry about being too old for law school. Plenty of people in their 30s or even 40s go to law school. You'd still be in your 20s.

Does having a low GPA/% scuttle my chances of getting into an MS/MBA program premanently?

Undergraduate academic performance is strongly considered by top business schools. They publish the profile of the incoming class in order to make their standards clear to anyone who intends to apply.  That said, the admissions committee has latitude to make exceptions as evidenced by the sub-median GPAs in the incoming class each year.  Based on client engagements we have managed over the past 17 years, grades in the low 3’s out of 4 are not necessarily a showstopper. You can mitigate average or even below average grades by explaining the circumstances (e.g., working full-time during college, etc.), earning A’s in rigorous extension courses, and – most important of all – achieving a GMAT score that significantly exceeds the median for admits. But that's only the start. You also need to present a stellar professional and personal profile that helps eliminate any remaining doubts about your ability to compete and contribute at b-school. And, finally, you must make a compelling case for how the offerings and resources of the targeted school are essential to fulfill your potential and accomplish a distinctive, meaningful post-MBA goal.  By optimizing the rest of your candidacy, you can show the adcom that your college GPA is an aberration overshadowed by your assets.Let your modest undergraduate record serve as motivation to exceed all other expectations that the admissions committees have when considering applicants. The only sure thing is that if you don’t apply, you won’t be accepted.Dan Bauer, MBA HarvardChief Executive OfficerThe MBA Exchange, Ltd.www.mbaexchange.com

Will a low GPA ruin my chance at a Google internship? As a freshman, I applied to Google for a summer internship. They asked for my grades. I got a 3.27 GPA, but I got an A- in CS 1, but I have an android app published and worked at a tech startup.

Asking for grades is standard. Just one semester does not provide great insight about your future GPA. I would probably emphasize the CS specific grades, along with the overall GPA (the "which a lot of people struggled with" part is irrelevant). In my opinion, if you have CS-related achievements, these can get you an interview regardless of your GPA (extra-curricular activities can often be more meaningful than grades). So, describe your work in your last internship and any metrics on improvements you did (e.g. made a component xx% faster), and your android app: technologies, challenges, number of users (if relevant), etc.Show your passion for computer science and be objective whenever possible. There are several related questions already on Quora, e.g.Should I still apply for a Google internship with a 2.6 GPA?What minimum GPA one should maintain to get an internship at top notch companies like Google, Facebook, Apple?

Will a low GPA (2.5/4) in a master's degree affect chances in getting a Ph.D?

Yes. Hugely. GPA is among the first filters to eliminate the unqualifies. However, there are PhD programs that beg people to apply. Obviously they are lowly or unranked programs, and/or located in middle of nowhere. But if getting PhD is your sole purpose, then choose your targets smartly and you will find something.
