2 Year Drop For Aipmt

How many students drop more than 2 years for NEET/AIPMT?

There are many students who drop more than 2 years. This is more common in the northern states of the country that is UP, Bihar and Rajasthan.Students just don't give up and are ready to invest more years in studying for cracking the exam. But honestly I think, they should stop after 2 years drop because the age factor comes in between and other opportunities are also getting lost at the same time.Getting admission in a medical college is not everything and it gets hard to accept this fact.Getting into a medical college does not guarantee success and it comes with its own perks and hardships. Its okay to accept the facts and move on with some other course. There is always scope ahead for a person who wants to work hard.

Am I crazy to drop the third year and prepare for the AIPMT? Are any students ever selected even after dropping out for so many years?

Thanks for asking … I would say that it depends on how badly do you want to do it. If you have really set your heart on being a doctor, then it doesn’t really matter how many tries it takes. However, if you are uncertain about it , then maybe its time to take a rain check. You have to keep in mind the fact that MBBS alone takes up nearly 6 years of your life … add to it post graduation — which almost everyone these days needs to earn a decent living — and you are looking at another 3 years in best case scenario. Not to mention the difficulties that come with becoming a medical student and practitioner … in the end, it is your decision. Take a call, and then don’t repent it . All the best.

Is it okay to drop 2 years for the AIPMT? In case I get selected, will there be any bad side for my career?

Considering someone not a superkid who gave is giving away 2 yrs of drop for AIPMT, its risky as u might not get selected and secondly possible that u cant get ur expected college.bad side is about the negativity you will drown into in case you are not selected, or in case, you will hear from parents “ about shaadi karlo beta” gyan. and that is the only problem, rest if you are selected, it would be really a great ride for you, becoming a doctor.all the bestHope that helps.

AIPMT Droppers: How much did you score in aipmt in your 1st attempt and after taking a drop?

Well, my story is a bit unorthodox for a dropper. I started studying for AIPMT when I was in 11th standard . I wasn't interested in the corporate institutes like Aakash and Allen as their branches in my town(Meerut) weren't upto the mark. So I went for individual coaching. I got 90.2% marks in my 12th board examinations. I was fundamentally stressing on my pmt preparation and boards came a bit low on my priority list. I appeared for the PMT exam (along with my 12th standard) in 2015. In the first paper, that got cancelled, I was scoring 594 marks. Though I was expecting a bit more from myself, having scored more than 594 throughout my preparation. The cancellation of the paper gave me a second opportunity. I came out of the second paper and calculated my marks to be 625. But as fate would have had it, I screwed the OMR and ended up having 525 marks. AIR 3225. I was broken, shattered, pathetic. It took a month to get out of it. 90 out of 100 people advised me to move on and get a college. But I made my choices. My abilities were something I and my parents had faith in. So this time around, in NEET 2016, I am securing 657 marks according to the official answer key issued by CBSE and the results are not far away. I am just happy to have made the choice that I believed in. That belief was instrumental in helping me run the marathon. That's it.Thank you :)

Is it good to take another drop this year for preparing for pre medical exam?

as your aipmt attempts as exhausted i wouldn't suggested you to take a drop butif you are determined for medical and ready to cope up with pressure and stress of a third year drop you could take it according to me mbbs takes a lot of time to be graduate and there is no sense without post graduation you cou8ld go for another courses in bio stream as microbiology etc don't change your stream it is tough to study a new stream as we have to start from ABC better you chose any other career option in bio stream
m a bio maths student and i know how difficult it is to manage two streams together i have also taken a years drop, moreover medical is having a few number of seats and competition and fees both are high if you wanna do mbbs from russian colleges or other than indian collges you can get everything at canbedoctor.com
all the best

Is it advisable to drop 2 years for medical entrance?

YES, if you want to become a doctor. No, if you don’t want to become one.By “I want to become a doctor”, I mean the will, the eagerness, the passion to become a doctor, not like ,”Everyone else is doing it”, “My parents want me to become a doctor”, “I am poor at maths”, “It is a good earning job”.I have seen people drop 4 years to join MBBS. They had the desire to become doctor.Life isn’t a cakewalk after PMT. You have to spend 5 and a half years in a gruelling environment. After that, you have to crack PG entrance, and again work hard for 3 years in MD/MS. There will be days when you have to work for 20 hrs a day. There will be days when you won’t even get a nap for 40 hrs at a stretch. This can only be done by someone who actually wants to be a doctor.Decide for yourself. And one more think, I have seen AIR 10 AIIMS waiting for 2 years to get a PG seat, and I have seen some not-so-good rankers in AIPMT getting a seat in 1st attempt. AIPMT is no way linked to PG. You can be a very good doctor even after dropping 2 years.Best of luck.
