2003 Dodge Ram Tail Lights Wont Blink

Brake lights stopped working on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500. Any suggestions?

you either have to replace the circuit boards with new ones on the tail lights or go with used ones, they burn out from constant use and cause that too happen, used they,ll cost you 45 bucks a piece for the whole light assembly on it,i buy used ones so i always got a spare a lens for them, good luck.

Brake lights are often integrated with the tail lights, both in the housing and in the bulb. The bulb will contain two separate filaments, one brightet than the other. The brighter one turns on when the brake pedal is depressed. In your instance, the filament connected to the brake light circuit is burned out, but the filament connected to the tail light circuit remains intact. You need to replace the entire bulb.

I have a Dodge Ram 1500, left turn signal flashes fast, no lights work on back of left side. See details.?

use a test light to check for power and ground like said above. check the fuses under the hood. you will not find a ground by the tail lamp because there is not one there. the same ground goes to the right and left tail lamps, license plate lamps, and fuel pump. it is actually in the engine compartment, and wired to the rear. if fuses are good you need to make sure the trailer wiring isn't corroded together at the plug(all trucks have a 4 pin plug from the factory). if you still don't find it you will need to remove the IPM to test the wiring. you will need a wiring diagram and voltmeter or you will have to take it to a dealer.

There are two types of no start conditions in a car: crank/no start and no crank/no start. The crank/no start is when the spinning of the engine is heard, but it doesn’t catch for the car to run on its own. The no crank/no start is just that-you don’t hear the car crank (hearing crickets) and the car doesn’t start. With most, it may be a given, but for those who honestly may not know, if you have a no crank/no start, check the car battery first, by turning on the lights. If the lights are bright and normal then you know that the issue is elsewhere. With this do-it-yourself method”, you are actually doing tests on different parts of the car, labeling the results of each test either “good” or “bad”. The car part is “good” when it is in operating order and “bad” when it is malfunctioning and more than likely is the reason for your nonmoving vehicle. For more in depth information click here

Where is the flasher relay or brake light fuse on a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?

Could possibly be the multi-function switch is causing this issue. The turn signals are requested when the multi-function switch control stalk is moved downward (LEFT signal) or upward (RIGHT signal). The control stalk has a detent position in each direction that provides turn signals with automatic cancellation, and an intermediate, momentary position in each direction that automatically provides three turn signal blinks as a LANE CHANGE feature when the control stalk is tapped or will energize the turn signals for as long as the control stalk is held in the momentary position. When the control stalk is moved to a detent turn signal switch position, a cancel actuator extends from the multi-function switch housing through an opening in the side of the clockspring case toward the center of the steering column. A turn signal cancel cam that is integral to the clockspring rotor rotates with the steering wheel and the cam lobes contact the cancel actuator when it is extended from the multi-function switch. When the steering wheel is rotated during a turning maneuver, one of the turn signal cancel cam lobes will contact the turn signal cancel actuator. The cancel actuator latches against the cancel cam rotation in the direction opposite that which is signaled. If the LEFT turn signal detent is selected, the lobes of the cancel cam will ratchet past the cancel actuator when the steering wheel is rotated to the left, but will unlatch the cancel actuator as the steering wheel rotates to the right and returns to center, which will cancel the turn signal event and release the control stalk from the detent so it returns to the neutral OFF position. The SCM reads the resistor multiplexed input from the multi-function switch and sends an electronic turn signal switch status message over the LIN data bus to the EMIC, which relays an electronic turn signal switch request message over the CAN data bus to other electronic modules in the vehicle.

On most cars I’ve driven, a flashing check engine light means something is very seriously wrong. That means don’t drive the car till you’ve fixed it.An OBD2 scanner is pretty much a necessity for working on modern cars. They don’t even cost that much anymore. Plug it into your OBD port, and it’ll most likely tell you what’s happening to make the check engine light flash. Look up the code and error message on google or youtube, and you can most likely find a description of how to fix it.If it says something vague, and then think about what you did and what the problems might be. If changing the plugs was ALL you did, there are a few things that come to mind as the first things I’d check. Think about what you touched, and what those parts do for the engine. The plugs, wires and coil are all things you might have disturbed or miss-installed, and they all have to do with ignition. My thought is that you might have one or more misfiring cylinders. An engine will continue to run, although poorly, with a surprisingly large fraction of its cylinders failing to fire, but the computer that controls it will see this as a pretty serious problem, and either detect the misfires directly, detect the extra oxygen in the exhaust, or both. Are all your spark plug wires back in place and making good contact with the terminals, both at the plug end and the coil end?If you have ‘coil over’ plugs, are the connectors to the individual coils tight?Did you check gap on all your plugs before you put them in? If the gap is too small or too large, the plug can fail to spark or spark so weakly it doesn’t ignite the gas.Did you tighten all your plugs to the proper torque? A loose plug can result in a misfire due to lack of compression.Did all the plugs have their crush washers, or was one missing?Did you reinstall all the plug wires to the correct plugs, or are some of your cylinders firing out of sequence? Are all your spark plug wires in good condition, or were some damaged during your work? It doesn’t take much damage to high voltage wiring before sparks come out at the wrong places. Is the coil in good condition? Is it dry? If you had the hood open in the rain, a wet coil can malfunction, as rainwater is quite conductive at high voltage. The plastic shell on an old coil can get brittle, and working with it can crack the insulation. Oily gunk on the coil can bake into a carbon layer that’s conductive and short out the coil too.

you're right, they probably should be. Sometimes there are reasons to have the headlights on during the day, and dimming the instrument panel is not good. The dimming is simply done by pretty dumb logic, the headlights on full (and Not DRL which turns on the headlamps by being in Drive) by switch and or Auto headlamps, then the dash is dimmed in the expectation that outside lighting is low and you need the dash lighting not be too bright so as to destroy your night vision. You are quite right, I wish they would put a little smarter tech behind that.Often, however there is a knob or wheel control on your dashboard that sets the intensity of the dash lighting. Sometimes if you turn it all the way to full, it will lock on max brightness. Try that.

2002 cavalier dome light comes on when you come to a stop at stop light or sign how do i solve prob?

Take the bulb out, but if your a scared of the dark. look at the door switches, is one about to fall apart ? If the drivers door switch is worn out or the drivers door is about to fall off. Replace the switch or take the wires off the switch and twist them together. Make sure to tape the twisted wires so they don't ground out on the body. Then when you want light, use the dash switch that will turn then on .
All the other doors will still make the light come on, when their open. You could remove all the door switches if you wanted to. The dim dash lights, turn on interior lights controller on the dash should still work. Just don't forget to turn them off when you done. That would drain the battery.

Hazard lights and turn signals use the same bulb, so it is not the bulb, the lamp, or the cables to them. Turn signals only work when the ignition is on; hazard lights work whether the ignition is on or not. The two systems have separate power supplies, so they have separate fuses. You may have a blown fuse.Different vehicles use different circuits, and it is not possible to accurately diagnose the fault with the small amount of information provided. You need a circuit diagram and a voltmeter, and a continuity tester. First locate and test the turn signal fuse. Do you have voltage to and from the turn signal switch? The hazard light switch is not a simple on/off switch. In the “on” position, a fused battery feed connects to left and right turn signal. In the “off” position, the left turn switch wire is connected to the left turn lamp and the right turn switch wire is connected to the right turn lamp, so there are 3 inputs and 2 outputs. The fault could be a fuse, turn signal switch, hazard switch, flasher unit, or a broken wire or connection.
