3 Year Old And 4 Year Old Congested And Coughing

My 4 year old can't stop coughing?

If cough medicine isn't helping, then you'll need to get him into the doctors. You don't have to rush him to the ER, a regular appointment for tomorrow will be just fine. While waiting, you can give him the cough medicine (and follow the dosage amount), if he will drink regular tea (not herbal) and honey, that will help with his cough and a sore throat (which he is probably developing). If he won't do tea, try warm water and honey. Use a vaporizer in his room tonight, and I've always used a little bit of Vapor Rub to put on my son's chest before he goes to bed. It relieves cough and makes breathing easier. Make sure you administer correctly, per the instructions.

Best medicine to give 4 year old for cough/ congestion?

It's funny you ask. I have a 4 year old with a cough and congestion. For her entire life I have had nothing but problems with giving her medicine. I would just dread when she got sick cause there wasn't too much I could do to help her. I give her chewables she spits them out, cough medicine she pukes all over the place. I'm not sure if you are in the same position with your 4 year old and I'm not sure which one works best since my daughter has always been impossible with taking medicine. But, tonight we hit a milestone - I'm so excited we found something she loves and they worked great (so far anyway). Tonight was the first night but they are the Triaminic strips. Place 1 strip on the tongue and they dissolve. My daughter was begging me for another one. Berry flavour and they are for cough and congestion. Good luck!

Is 10 ml of cough medicine too much for my 3-year-old?

Q. Is 10 ml of cough medicine too much for my 3-year-old?I know this seems like a troll post, but I’m a sucker for helping.I’ve no clue what medication your trying to give, but my guess is that there aren’t directions for 3 year olds because doctors no longer recommend young children receive cold meds. If you’re intent on giving your child meds, try calling your doctors office, or the nurses line (back of your insurance card, pediatricians office or local pediatric hospital) while you have the bottle in hand as they might be able to advise you.If it were my little one, I wouldn’t give my three year old (or any young child) cold medicine. I don’t give it to my six year old, either. What helps my little one (because she’s older than 1 year), is a little honey. It soothes her throat and eases coughing.I also give her extra fluids and use a nasal saline mist made for babies. Both help break up mucus. She enjoys (warm) decaf green tea w/ lemon and honey. Sometimes with a little ginger.I also make her favorite soup and snacks, while ensuring she gets extra rest and tlc. This makes a big difference. If your little one is coughing so much that they need cough medicine, is extremely tired, has fever (esp that doesn’t get better w/ meds) , difficulty breathing (grunting etc) ot isn’t feeding and drinking well, I would have them seen by their medical provider.

4 year old with fever over 103, & cough.?

I think your daughter needs to sleep it off. She probably has a viral condition that can only run its course. Yes her fever is high. Just give her tylenol as prescribed on the bottle. and don't wake her up to check her temp. She needs to sleep. Just keep her hydrated and comfortable.

Can I use 9 year old cough medicine?

Hell No!What you need to do is open your medicine cabinet and rigorously check all medicines for their expiration date. Then you take out all the expired meds and get rid of them. This is somewhat problematic in the US, where no unified system for taking care of old meds exists. It is somewhat easier in Europe, where you just hand them in at your local pharmacy to be safely disposed of. In the US, the usual advice is to mix the medicine with used coffee grounds if it is a solid and then dispose in the trash. Or your sheriffs department might accept old meds on certain days, check google. The thing about medicine is, that it uses precisely calculated amounts of “stuff” — also known as pharmaceuticals — which are known to help with certain diseases. Usually the active ingredients are suspended in some form of carrier. And as is usual, things people make don’t last. Not only might the medicine in question be ineffective, it may also contain harmful products of decay.DON’T USE EXPIRED MEDICINES.
