38 weeks 2 days pregnant, pulse in lower back?

There is a big artery in the middle of your body called the abdominal aorta. When you aren't pregnant, you can actually feel this sometimes if you are skinny and lay on your stomach. When you are pregnant, the uterus pushes the artery further toward your back. I would bet that for a few seconds you baby moved in a way that compressed that artery and you felt the pulsation through your back.

38 weeks... labor starting?

I am 38 weeks pregnant today, and for the past couple of days I haven't felt "normal". 2 nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, and felt very nauseated. I didn't vomit or anything, but it really felt like I was going to. Today, I've had awful diahrea (sorry tmi) and a few strong contractions, slight lower back pain and nausea. (Again no vomiting). I took a shower and put my feet up, and after an hour of contractions coming 11-14 mins apart, they started to slow down to about 40 mins apart, and then eventually stopped altogether. Also 4 days ago I had an appointment with my midwife, and she checked me and said baby was at 0 station, 1/2 cm dialated and thinning out alot. I've had a ton of pelvic pressure the past 3-4 weeks when my son dropped. My question is, could this be signs of labor... or am I over reacting? And if you could share your labor stories that would be awesome.

What causes back pain at 36 weeks and 5 days pregnant?

Um, could it be that 7-1/2 pound boulder you're carrying around in your abdomen? Seriously, your uterus is almost maxed out by now, tipping fotward, straining the ligaments that hold it up, weakening the abdominal muscles. Weak abdominals will cause back pain, as will the pressure of the baby's head as it begins to settle into the pelvis. If the back pain becomes rhythmic, waxing and waning, and moves around to the front you may be in early labor.

What causes lower back pain at 38 weeks pregnant?

As you progress in the pregnancy and the baby is growing in size, your pelvis will be altering its shape. Both the outlet and inlet are remodelling (through relaxation of the pelvic ligaments) to allow the baby out during birth. An unfortunate side effect of this is pain can be experienced at the back of the pelvis where it meets the spine, known as the sacro-iliac (SI) joint. With the increased pressure of the baby and stretch of the ligaments, the joint can become compressed and sensitized, leading to pain. You can minimise this several ways. You can do gentle gluteal activation exercises. These help generate ‘force closure’ and help to stabilise this SI joint One example can be found hereAnd although it is late in the pregnancy you can do gentle pilates exercises like this at home. More info on these can be found here Prenatal Pilates - The perfect exercise during pregnancy - Sum of UsOne last thing you could try is getting your local physio to tape the joint. This helps with ‘form closure’ and can reduce the compression in the joint.

What causes heartburn at weeks pregnant?

If pregnancy is giving you heartburn, you want it to stop, now. Here are five ways to extinguish the fire.It was heartburn that got me in the end. I could take the swelling, the back pain, the constant trips to the bathroom, the itchy skin, the fatigue, the sweating, the sleeplessness and even the psychological shock of seeing the scale tip 200 pounds. But the constant, searing pain of heartburn made the miracle of pregnancy seem more like a curseby the middle of my third trimester, my mantra had changed from “Please, let him be healthy!” to “Just get him OUT!”Video:: Heartburn No More (TM)4. Sleep SmartTo avoid nighttime heartburn, don’t eat anything for at least three hours before bedtime. Elevate the head of your bed by placing books under the legs, and if you’re not already sleeping on your left side, start now; stomach acids will have to travel uphill to reach the esophagusno easy feat! Also, avoid antacids that list aluminum (such as aluminum hydroxide or aluminum carbonate) as an ingredient; it can cause constipation and can even be toxic in large doses. remedies containing aspirin (such as alka-seltzer) should also be avoided during pregnancy; look for salicylate or acetylsalicylic acid in ingredients lists. You don’t want an antacid containing sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or sodium citrate, either. Both are high in sodium, which causes water retention.

What might lower back pain at 15 weeks pregnancy indicate?

Lower back pains are extremely normal during pregnancy. They start from about mid second trimester and will continue till the end of your pregnancy.Lower back pains is due to a surge in progesterone which is responsible for stretching and relaxing the muscles of your mid body in order to make space for the baby. This extra stretching and relaxation also interferes with digestion and thus cause much complained about gastric problems including gas and constipation.By the end of pregnancy, another hormone called relaxin is produced which is very important to prepare your body for labor. It also works along with progesterone to relax your muscles so as to promote contractions and form a safe passage for the baby.
