5 Math Questions Pls Help

Math questions pls help!?

1. D is greater than N by 50.

D = 1 + 3 + 5 + ... + 99 = (1 + 99) x [(99 + 1) / 2] / 2 = 100 x 50 / 2 = 2500

N = 2 + 4 + 6 + ... + 98 = (2 + 98) x (98 / 2) / 2 = 100 x 49 / 2 = 2450

2500 - 2450 = 50

So, D is greater than N by 50.

2. Ann had $55 in the beginning.

(Because the process is too long, I won't be writing it for now. If you request that you need it later, then I will post it up on this answer. Sorry for the inconvenience caused!)

3. The two whole numbers are 46 and 34.

(80 - 12) / 2 = 34

34 + 12 = 46

So, the two numbers are 46 and 34.

4. The two whole numbers are 16 and 625.

10,000 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 = 16 x 625

So, the two whole numbers are 16 and 625.

5. A table costs $750 and a chair costs $450.

6300 - (300 x 9) = 5400

5400 / (3 + 9) = 450

450 + 300 = 750

So, a table costs 750 and a chair costs 450.

6. There are two answers to this question.

Both 6, 8, 10, 12 and 8, 10, 12, 14 would work.

6 + 8 + 10 + 12 = 36

8 + 10 + 12 + 14 = 44

So, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 8, 10, 12, 14 would work.

Hope this helps!

Math question pls help?

a) Simple steps so you LEARN
First do (x+1)(x+3) = (x^2 + 4x +3)
Then multiply (x^2 + 4x + 3)(x+4)
= x^3 + 4x^2 +3x + 4x^2 + 16x + 12
Simplified to
x^3 + 8x^2+19x+12

b) First do (2x+3)(x-1) = 2x^2 +3x -2x-3 = 2x^2+x-3
Now 3x(2x^2+x-3) = 6x^3+3x^2-9x
Checking answer
6x^3+3x^2-9x = 3x(2x^2 +x-3) = 3x (2x+3)(x-1)

c) Similar to a and b above

d)4x^2 + 9x + 2, Here we have to find numbers that add up to 9(because you have 9x) and these numbers when multiplied should equal 8 (4 and 2).
So 8 and 1 are those factors
4x^2 + 8x + 1x + 2
= 4x(x+2) +1(x+2)
=(4x +1) (x+2)
x = -1/4 , x = -2

e) Idea similar to d) find numbers that add to 1 (since you have 1y) and multiply to give you -6 (2 from y^2 multiplied by -3 = -6).

2y^2 + y - 3
Numbers that work 3 and -2
2y^2 -2y + 3y -3
2y(y-1) + 3(y-1)
Answer = (2y+3)(y-1)

f) x^3 - 16x
Factor out a x first
x(x^2 - 16)
Consider x^2-16 which is equal to
x^2 + 0x -16
So as above need two numbers that add to 0 and when multiplied give you -16. The numbers that do so are 4 and -4.
x^2 +4x-4x-16
x(x+4) - 4(x+4)
Answer is (x-4)(x+4)

Second part of questions
a) Rewrite with negative exponent 5/a^3
Answer is 5(a^-3)
b) Evaluate 81 ^ (1/4)
Answer is taking two square roots first of 81, than of that of the answer
81^(1/2) = 9
81^(1/4) = (81^(1/2))^1/2 = 9^(1/2) = 3
So answer is 3

c) Not sure what the question is but I am assuming you want the square root of k^5 or the square of k^5

Square root answer is
(k^5) ^(1/2) = k^(5/2)
Square answer is
(k^5)^2 = k^10

d)
Answer is
(i/2)^-3 = 8 / (i^3)

Good luck, I hope you learn from these steps. The only way to learn and be successful in doing this on a test is by practice.

Math question .......... pls help !!! ...?

1st person leave, he will only hv $1 left, as he'll gv to (x-1) people.
= hv a begining - what he gives
= x - (x-1)
= 1

This leave 2nd person to hv $(x+1), then he'll gv to (x-2) people,
so he will hv = (x+1) - (x-2)
= 3

3rd person by then will hv $(x+2) and he will gv to (x-3) people
so he will hv = (x+2) - (x-3)
= 5

by the same token
4th person will hv = (x+3) - (x-4)
= 7

Thus answer is $7

Pls help with math questions?

1.
Set up a proportion:
building/shadow = tree/shadow

150/20 = x/2

Cross multiply:
300 = 20x

x = 15

2.
Add the lengths together:
1yd 2ft 6in
2yd 1ft 5in
+ 4yd 2ft 8in
------------------
7yd 5ft 19in

Now, convert inches to ft (12in = 1ft):
19in = 1 ft 7in

Remove the 19in from the above answer and add 1ft 7in in its place:
7yd 5ft
+ 1ft 7in
------------
7yd 6ft 7in

Now, convert 6ft to yd (3ft = 1yd):
6ft = 2yd

Remove the 6ft from the above answer and add 2yd in its place:
7yd 7in
+ 2yd
-----------
9yd 7in

3.
This one is a little more complicated (it's also very poorly worded) and can be calculated in a couple of ways. I find the following to be the easiest way:

Cost x (100% + profit) = Sale price

15000 x (100% + 15%) = Sale price

15000 x (115%) = Sale price

15000 x (1.15) = Sale price

17250 = Sale price

5 math questions please help?

27. The amount of the closing costs is 3% of the loan amount. The loan amount is the price of the house minus any down payments. In other words, the loan amount is $97,900 - $8,000 = $89,900. 3% of $89,900 = 8900*.03 = $2,697.

28. The interest rate is 8% per year or (0.08/12) = 0.0067 = 0.67% per month. The interest amount for the any month is the amount remaining on the loan times the monthly interest rate. If he owes $90,000 at the start of the first month, then his first monthly payment will require $90,000 * 0.67% = $600 in interest.

29. The same idea applies here as in #28. The monthly interest rate is 7%/12 = 0.58%. The amount of interest would be $189,600 * 0.58% = $1,106. The amount applied to the principal is the monthly payment minus any interest charges: $1,340.47 - $1,106.00 = $234.47.

30. One mill = 1 tenth of 1 percent = 1%*.1 = 0.01*.01 = .001. Therefore, 25.13 mills = 25.13*.001 = 0.02513 = 2.513%. $74,200 * 2.513% = $1,864.65 owed in taxes each year.

31. You will have to find the assessment value of the home based on the market value, then determine the taxes owed from there just like we did in #30. If the market value is $92,500, and the assessment rate is 80%, then the assessment value is $92,500 * 80% = $74,000. Again, we saw from #30 that 25.13 mills = 2.513%, so the taxes owed for one year is $74,000 * 2.513% = $1,859.62.

32. This one is simple. He is simply covered for 80% of the replacement value, which is $215,000.00. Therefore, his coverage is for $215,000 * 80% = $172,000.

Run for your life.
Here's my extremely perfect and well thought out plan:
1. take the paper. burn it.
2. go to class. set of firecrackers as a diversion
3. while everyone is running around screaming, dig a hole under your desk with your handy dandy pocket shovel
4. be on your merry way to canada or some happy place where there is no math

Hello

1/
You are stood in the middle and raise your arm out in front of you and Point a direction.
When talking about a compass North, East, South and West are referred to as points of the compass. And they are 90 degrees between each in turn.

2/
Which one has a beginning and an end?
A line goes from A to B

3/
A line goes from the Start to the End
A Ray is triangular so will have the Start and an End to each side of the Triangle (Like a Partially opened Fan).
A Point Goes no where so has no Start or End
A Parallel is 2 lines so will have Starts and 2 Ends.

4/
The corner of the Picture is 90 degrees so is called a Right Angle
The Light goes out like a Fan from the Light House (With the point at the Light House).
The Center of a Darts Board is Round
The 50 yard line is a Line.

5/
From the Front the Pupil is Round but the images outside are a lot bigger than the part of the Inner Eye that you see with so the Point is at the Inner eye and then goes out the pupil getting bigger like a Triangle or Ray.
