Scale of 1 10 How good are you on the dance floor

How do you draw a floor plan to scale?

If you are going to use a software and going to draw a floor plan on PC, no scale is required. On PC we always draw on 1: 1 scale. On screen you reduce the total drawing by zooming in and out. However the drawing is drawn with scale 1:1.

Earlier it was necessary to make drawings to scale during the pre-PC days. But now it is not necessary.

The question is of printing the drawing on paper. Suppose your floor plan is of dimensions 10000 mm X 6500 mm. (32’ 9” X 21’4”)

A4 size paper measures 297 mm x 200 mm

By providing proper margins paper available for printing is of 275 mm X 170 mm.

If you use a scale of 1:40 the drawing can be plotted on area 250 mm x 162.5 mm

If you want a bigger drawing you use size A3. (400 mm x 297 mm)

Now we can use a larger scale say 1:30 and the plot area will be 333.33 mm X 216.66 mm.

Fit to scale command is also available.

Drawing by hand

If you want to draw by hand, you will have to use a scale.

You will have to choose a scale considering the paper size available. (The above example will give you an idea how to choose the scale.) All dimensions will have to be converted by dividing each dimension by the scale.

Architectural scales are available where the above divisions are not necessary. You can measure dimensions directly on the scale. You will to choose the scale available from the box. These scales will be available only in steps like 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 etc.

In metric system the steps will be 1:2, 1:2.5, 1:5, 1:10 etc.

However in PC you are drawing to scale 1:1 only and for printing you can use any scale. Scales like 1:3, 1:93 and 1:4.8 also are possible.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how good a person are you?

I will rate myself 4/10.

First let me tell you why even I gave myself 4 on 10 (although I wished to give myself a big ZERO).

I gave myself 4 on 10 because I respect my parents. I want them to be proud because of me. I want them to be happy. I want to give my parents all the comforts of the world.

Now the reason why I wished to give myself a zero:

Let me tell you, that I am a jealous person. I am jealous to everyone who succeeds before me. Not only I am jealous of people around me, I am even jealous of celebrities (Sushant Singh Rajpoot tops the list because he has my love, Kriti Senon).

I don’t want anyone to be successful before me. You know why? Its because I have a sense of insecurity hidden in me. Insecurity of getting forgotten amidst common people who come and go. I want to be remembered. Not because of some stupid ‘good deeds’ but because of my hard work and success.

Yes I know that’s not good, but its who I am. And hence I don’t consider myself either a good person (still not that bad, but…) or a good friend.

Thats all folks.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest), how would you rate yourself on looks, morals, entertainment, intelligence, and strength? Why?

Looks 8

Morals 9

Entertainment 8.5

Intelligence 8

Strength… well this has many kinds.. overall I will say 7.5

Those, who know me in person, know the reason… coz not everything can be explained… something are just for experience

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much are you expected to answer in technical questions at an interview?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much are you expected to answer in technical questions at an interview?

Thanks Jemima Khan, I appreciate the A2A.

This question has the wrong focus. You answer questions as best you are able in any interview.

It’s not like every interviewer in the world, for every position, at every employer, all get a memo that says, “Any candidate failing to successfully answer x/10 questions must fail any interview with you”.

Neither is there a standard set of technical questions every interviewer asks for every position at every employer.

On a scale of 1 to 10, what do you rate "on a scale of 1 to 10"?

On a scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 2.

I’m not a fan of Net Promoter Score, or any numeric scale.

Why? Because it doesn’t give you enough feedback. If I had only said “2” as my answer, it wouldn’t be worth much, now would it?

You can’t learn what the problems are from a number, or what you’re doing right.

You can’t learn how to improve, and what features people would want.

You can’t learn WHY, which is so crucial.

If you ask your customer to rate your service, and they say “8” out of 10, that’s nice, you’re doing a pretty good job, but you have no idea what could make it a 10, and what was good enough that you got an 8.

If you want someone to give you feedback on your website, and they give it a 4 out of 10, how do you improve it? You have no real actionable feedback, just a number. It’s fairly worthless.

I’m a huge fan of asking open ended questions, and never a yes/no or a scale question like that.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much does stepping on a Lego hurt?

We all know this little devil in life.

This little tiny thing has caused

hospital visits (really)
panic
wars (not really)
creative cursing
cuts
bruises
every other kind of malady and hurt known to mankind

We all hate it. Now you have never truly experienced this pain in full if you have to ask this question. This thing is truly EVIL.

‘Nuff said.

This doesn’t fit on a scale of 1–10. If we hypothetically measured it on a 1–10 scale. I repeat, HYPOTHETICAL. It would still be 1,000,000,000+. It cannot be expressed to you in words how truly painful.

Imagine walking to your bed in the dark, tired out of your mind. It’s been a long week and you just want to sleep for a full day. And this thing is just lying around. You step on it and all your plans of sleep are delayed because of this evil abomination to humanity.

NUFF’ SAID.

I ask a person about their well-being on a scale from 1 to 10. I repeat the question a year later. How can I tell how many of those who answered "1" both times didn't actually get better over time, as there is no possibility to answer with "0"?

I think what you want to say is that because the minimum value possible according to the scale (1 here) was already selected as an answer, how'll a person respond the next time if he feels even worse because there is no option to go for zero.

I agree with what Jarle says in the second paragraph.

A good scale should take into account all possibilities, but nothing else.

But, no matter how many levels you provide in a scale, there will always be the problem of the need to go off the scale.

Suggested answers:
1. Pad the scale with 0 and 11, when you ask the question the second time.
0 to reflect feeling worse than before, assuming 1 was selected the last time.
11 to reflect feeling better than before, assuming 10 was selected the last time.

2. Change the meaning of the numbers on the scale the second time. e.g. let 5 be the answer if the person feels the same way he did the last time; less than 5 if he feels worse than before; more than 5 if he feels better than before.

Then, the answer according to the absolute scale could be calculated as:

Answer on absolute scale the second time = (Answer on the relative scale)/5 * Answer on absolute scale the first time.
