Have you ever rescued an animal? If so, what took you to do this?
I have personally taken in stray cats, and all my cats are rescue cats though not all rescued as such by me. I’ve done my best with various injured birds, with mixed results [some die of shock] but called the RSPCA on the seagull; Herring gulls are big and scary and I’m disabled, and I was afraid of hurting it if my ineptitude caused it more damage. I’ve taken a heron to the vet, but it did not make it. I’ve had injured hedgehogs unable to be released into the wild in my garden, and blew my pocket money as a child on an injured tortoise [he’s still going strong]. I will always do my best for an animal in distress, whether this means personally, or donating when I can to people who are doing the rescuing. I am not, alas, as active as in my youth when climbing over walls or whatever to reach stranded animals was just another day in the life.
Is it a good idea to adopt a street dog as a pet? If so then what all should I consider before getting one?
Street dogs are damn smart + Zero maintenance!I have 8 street dogs, you can play with them (don't expect to play like golden retriever), no need to worry about food you can feed what you eat!It's OK if you don't spend time with them but freedom is must for them, it's in their genetics to roam freely!One of my dog opening the gate like a pro and going for a walk!Ticks are very common and dangerous, ₹400 for anti-ticks drops(for one time,for one dog)! Every time you see Ticks you should apply.Vaccination should be done when it's a puppy ! What type of abuse / certain kinds / all kinds...I could give you some specifics about what I know...but abuse is abuse...whether it's mental / physical / emotional / bullying...whatever the case maybe... you can get a lot of info off the internet...or try calling a placement agency that deals with kids this has happened to and see if a case worker / councelor can speak with you. They can't give you specific cases, but can help in answering some of your questions.
