A Recent Decision Handed Down Regarding Closure Of The Courtroom. Isn

Doesn't a new court order supercede a previous order?

Someone close to me was arrested for domestic violence almost 2 years ago. Courts ordered 30 days in jail, all but 5 suspended and to attend BEP (Batterers Education Program). The BEP classes were not finished by the deadline so person went to court for contempt of court and was ordered the full 30 days in jail carried out by community service and attend BEP classes. AGAIN this person did not complete all by the deadline so again went to court with an order. State wanted 6m in jail but the judged ruled that the person must complete BEP classes by a new set deadline and then if they are not complete the person has to go to jail for a full 6m. Well we just found out yesterday that this person is in the Wanted list in the local paper and today found out that it is from the original 30 days. So there is a warrant out for arrest and 30 days in jail!!

Doesn't the new order cancel out the first one? and so on down the line?? That was our understanding!
