A Stray Cat And A Pug In My House And I

Why are stray cats attracted to my house?

Did you maybe really annoy your neighbor with your incessant renovations, causing them to send away for catnip and catgrass seeds, which they scattered all over your lawn and under your deck and through your wife’s prize flowerbeds?Because that’d do it.Trust me ;-).

A stray cat showed up to my house and I let him kind of hang around outside. He seems to be taking care of himself but he constantly meows. Why is that?

All of these are great answers. I was at one of my employees house and a stray kitten came to us outside of his home rubbing on our legs and crying. It was crying a lot and looked very healthy. However he said several times that he would kick the cat as hard as he could. So I thought taking the cat with me without even thinking about who it might or might not belong to was better than a prison cell for me. She was very loving and liked to stay in the hood part of my sweat shirt. I took her home and to keep her away from my other cats while I was outside I let her stay as I walked back out to bring in more paperwork. She jumped down and ran off. I left and came back hours later she ran up to greet me. I took her to the vet the next day and found out she was not a kitten. She was six months old. So she got fixed and shots and checked out. She has never tried to go outside (I won't let my cats outside) and is still very loving and talking (crying) for attention when I am in the room.  One of my cats was on medication and not doing very well when I found her and he died a month after she adopted me. Because the new cat is an attention hog it took my mind off of the death of my other cat. All of the advice given here by the other Quorans should be taken into consideration. I did not even think about putting up flyers as in that neighborhood there are too many feral cats and whoever let this cat out or never let them inside was not a responsible owner in my judge mental opinion. I see too many of them run over or being shot by animal haters.  I think as one Quoran wrote that maybe she was looking to adopt a new human.  It is interesting that my other cats wake me up to feed them. She wakes me up to be loved on and played with. Best wishes

I FOUND A STRAY CAT!?

ok a couple of weeks ago while we were eating dinner i kept on hearing this meowing noise. We found a cat under the house. we lured it out with food and locked up the opening so it could not go back in. 2 days later i saw the same cat in the front lawn. so i got some dog food and some tuna fish (i washed it first) and left a bowl out to see if it was hurt or not. It was not and it was afraid of people so it finally let me pet it after about 30 minutes. A while later my mom ended up etting it a bowl and food fo it to eat since it was really skinny. It has been basicaly living in my house just eating and sleeping outside. it now lets me touch it and is very friendly. we want to get it to the vet and give it a checkup. i feel bad for it and i was wondering if we should just keep on what we are doing or dopt it into our home. and we have to dogs one dogs wont do anything but the other will probably pick it up my its mouth and after a while it will get used to it. WHAT SHOULD WE DO!!!!!!

How well do pug dogs get along with cats?

My 10yo pug/Boston terrier mix, Hank, has always loved cats. They could wallow & head-bonk him continuously & he’d allow it. When a stray I’d brought in ended up having kittens, he used to guard those babies like it was his job. In fact, I used to have a picture of the momma cat (named Boo) lying in a pet bed, nursing her kittens while looking up at Hank who had his head rested on the side of the bed, watching over them. My other cat, Herbie, a semi-feral who had come to me through a rescue after getting caught in a car engine, adores Hank. After adjusting to the house & finally realizing no one, human or animal, would hurt him, he bonded with Hank quickly & can often be found lying on top of Hank at night - Hank snuggled up against me lying under the blankets with his butt sticking out with Herbie lying directly on top of him, meowing at me to wake up & pet him.My pug, Wednesday is a different story. She’ll try to chase Boo but after several times of no reaction from the cat, she finally gave up. Boo just kinda lounges around & gives her a “What the hell is wrong with you?” look anytime Wednesday tries to rush up on her. She had to learn the hard way with Herbie. She tried chasing him & got popped in the eye. He wasn’t going to put up with her shit. Thankfully, it didn’t do any damage aside from giving her a goofy looking wink for a couple days.My most recent addition, (Cooper) a pug/dachshund mix foster failure who came to me after being rescued during an emergency cruelty seizure, tried chasing both cats. The first reacted how she usually does - won’t run or give chase & instead head-bonked him. Herbie was more cautious & would jump onto a bar stool instead of letting Cooper catch those paws. Cooper is Hank’s little shadow & has started doting on the cats the way Hank does. I’m so happy he took after my smart, sweet old man instead of my bossy, instigator pug lol.Although every dog is different, overall pugs are a social, happy little breed who mostly gets along with everyone & everything. They love to be loved & being with their family.*Note: I apologize for any typos or grammatical errors. I typed this up on my phone while waiting in line in hell - Walmart

If I died at home, which would eat me first, my dog or my cat?

This answer is based on what I personally witnessed one morning on the news, it is a true story. The cat would eat you first, without even waiting for you to die. This happened a little over 10 years ago. It was in 2004 or 2005. An elderly lady had fallen and broken her hip while at home. This was somewhere in or around Los Angeles. I don't remember the exact location but I do remember that the news clip showed several different local LA news teams clambouring to get the story. The clip I was watching showed the woman, still alive, being wheeled on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance. She was covered from head to toe with a sheet, like what they normally do with a dead body. The reporter said this was done because of the cameras being there and the gruesome nature of her injuries. The lady owned a dog and over a dozen cats. After she broke her hip she was helpless and couldn't move. The poor lady laid there for close to a week before a neighbor came to check on her. In that time her pets ran out of food. The cats started to feast on her. The Dog did its best to protect her but was also overwhelmed by the attacking cats as they started to eat at the dog as well. In a follow up story on the news, it was stated that she and the dog both survived the ordeal, and she got rid of the cats. This all happened in the days before I had a computer. So I couldn't follow up on the story. That last news follow up was the last time I heard anything about it. I think that answers your question and at the same time obliterates any question a person may have concerning a dogs unwavering loyalty.

Stray Cats pooping on neighbour's door step how can I make this stop?

Is there something I can use that is safe to spray - we live in apt so it has to be something like a spray that the neighbour won't notice but the Cats will stay away.

I am now having issues with my neighbour in Apt H Valerie that hates Stray Cats because ... wait for it... their stigma. Yes that was the reason she gave me - NOW (and my Stray Babies as I call them) have NEVER done this nor been accused of this ) are defecating on her doorstep - I was completely unaware of this - but she has been bucking my Stray Babies from the beginning as in "there are so many of them" and "I may have made amistake movinghere" and she keeps threatening Animal Control - Now that I know I will keep an vigilant eye out for it and clean it immed but is there anything I can do - I have spent $1000s of my own money caring and fixing these Stray Babies to have this nasty woman come in and ruin everything.Sorry I went off subject somewhat but this woman claims she had two Cats of her own - then how can she be so mean to the Stray Babies

Adopted stray cat hasn't pooped for 3 days....?

Adopted the neighborhood stray on Friday. On Saturday took her to have her shots at the vet, she has now urinated a couple of times in the litter box, after being locked up and constantly forced to use the box. She had diareah on Sunday morning on the floor but hasn't pooped since. And I know she hasn't pooped anywhere in the house. What is wrong? Is this normal?

Why are pet dogs afraid of cats?

Because cats are scary.Obviously, some dogs have learned to see past that scary exterior. However, most of the time, at least in my experience, this is what happens when a dog is introduced to a cat for the first time:Dog sees small fuzzy. Is small fuzzy friend? Foe? Time to investigate!I shall greet this small fuzzy in the greeting of my people — by offering to sniff noses! There, small fuzzy sniffed noses with me! Small fuzzy smells strange, but I won't hold that against him. I'll show him I'm friendly by wagging my tail.Small fuzzy doesn't respond to my friendly wag. (Alternatively: small fuzzy responds by wagging his tail, a sign of agitation and aggression in cats.) I shall offer to play by bouncing around and barking in his face!Meanwhile, poor kitty was enjoying a nice nap when some big, lumbering brute of a thing five times his size just stuck its nose in his face. Cats are more reserved when they greet one another, whereas dogs are all over each other. The cat will either see this as terrifying or annoyingly rude, depending on how many dogs he's known. Either way, the overtures to play in doggie language are signs of aggression in kitty language. Kitty could run, but then he'd be turning his back on this behemoth that could conceivably be as much as forty times his mass. Instead, kitty turns to aggression, hissing and puffing himself up. And can you blame him? His afternoon snooze just turned into a life or death situation! Most dogs get the hint and back off when the small fuzzy suddenly gets all sharp and hissy and creepy. Those who can't take a hint usually receive a bloody nose.Forever afterwards, small fuzzies are linked with fear and pain and blood in their minds. Not to be trusted! Best just to leave him alone!Which is why my pit bull is terrified of my geriatric, five pound, declawed cat.Edited to now include photographic evidence:

How do I stop stray dogs from pooping on my porch...?

a fence would be good, or a baby gate to prevent them coming up on your porch.
