Accidentally Had Way Too Much Vitamin A

I took two centrum vitamins by accident... about 1-2 hours apart. am i going to be okay?

As long as you don't do this every day, you'll be fine. For some vitamins, the body gets rid of excess amounts, and for others the excess stays and is used slowly. The two tablets together have 100% of your daily requirement of Vitamin A, and there can be problems if you take too much vitamin A every day for a long time. Otherwise you'll be fine. Maybe your unconscious wanted you to take higher levels once; maybe you're deficient in something. Don't worry at all.

Accidentally took two Vitamin D pills?

Okay, so in the winter, I have to take Vitamin D pills once a day (5000IU). Which is a lot. Today I accidentally took two. Is it something I should worry about?.... Do I not take any tmrw instead ?..

Teen Boy Accidentally took Prenatal Vitaminn?

Its fine. Its very hard to overdose on vitamins-when there is too much on your body you will just pee it out.
Teenage girls sometimes take prenatal vitamins because they have extra vitamins, so you are fine.

I think i accidentally took too much vitamin A...?

See Edit below after additional info was added.

Your kidneys are just below your mid back, and they drain into the bladder.
It probably isn't vitamin A overdose, most vitamin A is beta carotene, and your skin and the whites of your eyes would take on a carrot color in the early stages of liver damage.

However, drink a lot of water, and maybe some unsweetened Cranberry juice.
My first two guesses would be kidney stones or maybe a UTI. If the pain keeps up, and feels like someone kicked you in the back on one side, I would increase my bet on a kidney stone trying to work its way out. If it were right front just below your ribs, that is where your gall bladder is.

Edit: After receiving additional info, my first choice is a pinched nerve in the thoracic region of the spine. I still do not rule out kidney stones but that would be the top of the kidney or possibly the adrenaline gland.

If you have room in front of a chair, put a pillowcase on the chair, put both calves on the chair, and lie flat on your back in front of the chair, with your thighs pointing straight up in the air. If that relieves the pain a lot, think about seeing a chiropractor.

Am I Taking Too Much Vitamin D?

No, that is not too much. We get more Vitamin D from the sun, some experts say up to 20,000 units in only 20 minutes of sun exposure. Some supplements are better than others, if you live in Canada try D drops, they can be found at Shopper's Drug mart, make sure you get the 1000 IU bottle, it's around $20 but it lasts a long time. Also, check out http://www.mercola.com and search for Vitamin D and depression articles, he has lots of great articles on the topic.

I accidentally ate bread with black mold a few hours ago. What should I do? How dangerous is it?

The risk depends on whether you are immunocompromised (either natural immune problems or suppression with medication), the strength of your stomach acid (ie are you taking antacids or being treated for acid reflux which could suppress the stomach acid), and how much black mold was consumed. For an immuncompromised individual with suppressed stomach acid it could be a serious risk. For most other people the risk is very small. One way to look at this is to remember that mold is one of the most prevalent organisms in our environments - it is present in our food, in the air, and on living surfaces. Therefore, we are all ingesting small amounts of mold from time to time without any harmful effect. Furthermore, the body has multiple defense mechanisms to protect against any organisms that we ingest. In the case of mold, it is almost certainly instantly destroyed when it comes into contact with the acid produced in the stomach. Therefore, in short, having accidentally consumed some moldy bread shouldn't have any harmful health effect. The most likely consequence from eating moldy bread is simply the unpleasant experience of realizing that you just did it! That being said, if you experience any concerning symptoms like nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea, or fever, or cough you should be checked out by your primary care doctor. They will be able to make sure everything is ok and that you did not pick up any serious infection. Again, this is extremely unlikely to occur after eating the common types of molds that are found in bread, and I wouldn't worry about it too much.Is eating mold bad for you?Black bread moldZygomycosisMucormycosis: Get Facts About Treatment and Diagnosis

What happens if you swallow a chewable vitamin?

Funny thing.Just a few minutes back I swallowed a Vitamin C pill whole (they are quite big) and felt it get lodged in my oesophagus just above the stomach. It didn’t exactly hurt but was quite a discomfort. That was enough to freak me out and start looking it up on quora. It’s been around 30 minutes since then and I think the tablet gradually dissolved and became small enough to pass through into the stomach. Phew!Note to self : never again!

Pregnant: accidentally took an extra iron pill... can anything bad happen?

No, I have done the same thing and spoken to my Ob/Gyn about it, he said there was no risk at all - you have a certain reserve apparently that your baby and you draw from, the rest is expelled from your body. Continuous overdose of iron may cause problems in the long run but just one pill you have nothing to worry about. You may have irregular bowel movements for a day or so - more constipated for example but just drink plenty of water. Congrats on your pregnancy :)
