African Americans Of Yahoo - What Do You Think Of The Conservative Claim That Black People Only

Native Americans - What do you think of black people?

i'm sorry....are you wanting us to generalize? because i hate being generalized and i am sure you wouldn't appreciate it either. you know, the people who say "why do black people...blah blah" as if every black person does it. i take people as individuals and base my opinion of them on how they treat people. i don't care what color skin they happen to be in.

ETA: no most black people or white people for that matter have native blood. only about 2% do according to all the genetic tests being sold all over the web.

ETA: your question itself is a generalization...what do natives (all of us?) think of black people ( all of them?) as i said, i don't think anything about black people either pro or con because it doesn't matter. if i meet a black person who is an *** should i dislike all blacks? how can i give you an opinion about "black people" since i haven't met all of them? what do you want to hear? some are nice some are not. thats all anyone can say.

ETA: no. what you DID was give your definition of who YOU will consider native and who YOU will consider to be black. just who are you to decide?

here is my answer. i like some of the black people i have met and i think others are idiots.

ETA: and the ironic thing is, using blood quantum and fractions IS racism. by your definition some native people who are enrolled and live the culture they were born into would not qualify as being native. this is the policy of the government who is still trying to make native people disappear. blood quantum requirements is just one of the ways they try to do this. so by your using a fraction to determine who is indian enough to answer, you are perpetuating the racist view point and practices of the government. this is what i was trying to get you to understand.

I wouldn't put it past them. It depends on who is providing the scholarship. Would they get away with it? Oh they'll give it a good ol boy go but I doubt if their efforts would make any impact.Education has always been a sore spot with bigoted Conservatives. This is why African slaves were severely beaten or lynched when they were caught learning to read. Early African-American colleges were burned to the ground and teachers of both genders were killed.Bigots have never wanted Black people to be educated. Knowledge is power. The more you know, the more opportunities you'll have to use it. Educated slaves became teachers and legislators in order to improve life for Black people of all ages.http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.o...If Black people continue to develop this mindset, then I have no doubt we will see more Black people in positions such as judges, governors, congressmen/congressmen and Senators. These people may rally for better living conditions, wages and equality within the U.S. justice system.'Speaking of that...on November 6, 2018, ((Election Day)) over 435 House seats, 34 Senate and 39 state and territorial governorships ARE UP FOR REELECTION!!!((DEMOCRATS)) GET OUT THERE AND CLAIM THOSE SEATS!!You have no viable reason not to fight for control of the House and the Senate. Yes, the naysayers want to make it seem as if we will have an uphill battle. No, we won't.If you take in that has transpired in in the past 30 days, you have ZERO excuse to not register to vote and stay home!! NONE.We CAN do it! But if you sit on your asses like some did in 2016, don't complain for the next two years. The rest of us don't want to hear it.Do not allow people to trick you into thinking your vote doesn't matter. It does.It matters more than you know.

I don’t think it’s about “how” we should protest, but about “what”.Our protests are looked down upon as upsetting unless they serve Euro-American conservative cultural and economic interests, such as:protests against illegal immigration and/or the Spanish language, protests against Islam and Muslims, protests against same-sex marriage and LGBT rights, protests against public healthcare, protests against abortion, protests in favor of law enforcement/military/armed personnel, protests in favor of entrenchment of Christian doctrine and symbology in public institutions. Our involvement in those seven types of protests has been most sought after by conservatives in the last 20 years, and Afro-American people who support these movements are largely promoted as their “Black friend” to defend the movement against allegations by others of ethnoracial animus, and to even disingenuously flip the “narrative” around to say that those who promote their opposed policies are being racist to African-Americans (even when the more inclusive or progressive policy would have not undermined African-Americans, and would have made life easier for many African-Americans and others). As long as we engage in these types of protest targets, we can protest in any way we want and not received Euro-American conservative flack. We could take a knee during the National Anthem and be cheered by conservatives as long as we make the target one of the 7 listed above.

Why aren't black Americans more Conservative like Latinos, West Indians and Africans?

The African American community has historically aligned itself with the Democratic party, ever since FDR.

There are many reasons for this. One could be that that the Democrats of that time were more outreaching towards the African American community. I could cite one example where a publishing magazine took a poll from it's readers and predicted one guy to win, by a landslide, but failed to account for their audience, a mostly white populace of a certain party, and thus in reality saw the other guy win.

This is not to say that all African Americans agree with Liberal policy. I do think that in many regards the black community can be more conservative than many white communities. But, African American culture is different than that in Latin America, the Caribbean, and in Africa. That is, some things are less taboo here than elsewhere, and they adjusted to that.

What do Africans think about African Americans?

Africans tend to have a hard time understanding the effect slavery and racism has on African Americans. There is the perception that African Americans have no excuses not to be successful because of all the opportunities available to them which they (Africans) have taken advantage of.

Many Africans have seen black people achieve in their countries of origin. Political figures as well as professionals are black and they could aspire to that. Many also have role models within their families they wish to emulate. As a result there is a general expectation from a very early age that if you go to school and do well you will achieve. Failure is not an option as it will bring disgrace to your family. Apart from this there are also very strong family bonds and a respect for elders. For example, it is not uncommon for your neighbours to punish you in the absence of your parents, and have more pain dished out when they are told.

In a nutshell, there are cultural differences and a general lack of knowledge about African American history which makes understanding the African American experience difficult. The lack of knowledge is also the case with African Americans too.

Why do African-Americans claim they are the only Blacks to be enslaved by Whites?

Of course they dont know...nobody ever told them.

America basically keeps its people ignorant of world history and world issues. Most Black people dont know that Brasil has the largest Afro-descended population in the world, and that most slaves were sent to Latin America and the Caribbean, NOT the United States.

I've been aware of this, but it was somethin that I had to find out for myself, I was never taught that in school.

I am a conservative who lives in an overwhelmingly liberal city (Saint Petersburg) in a swing state(Florida). Like most liberal cities such as Chicago and Baltimore, our city unfortunately is segregated on racial lines. I've lived in conservative small towns here in Florida and grew up in one, never experienced the same phenomenon of racial segregation that defines every liberal city I been to. This would lead me to assert that conservatives aren't afraid of anyone, while liberals are extremely afraid of African Americans. However this was only an assertion until I started driving for a ride sharing company. I studied patterns and realized I make more money on “The South Side” of town which is where most of the African American population of our city lives, this is because there is no competition, almost no other drivers drive there, taxis are hard to come by on that part of town as well. I got a chance to speak to a good number of African Americans who expressed an unusual amount of gratitude for simply driving in that neighborhood, it was rather shocking to see anyone being so happy to see a Lyft or Uber driver. One story really spoke to me, the man I picked up lamented that he would be late for work because the original driver showed up, it was a white Prius, with many bumper stickers that we're anti-trump and for the resist movement. The car pulled up saw my riders outward appearance, got intimidated, canceled the ride and quickly drove away, as a result of which my rider had to request another car at which point I picked him up. He acknowledged the hypocracy on the part of the original driver and thanked me for the ride, my rider worked at a gym, and used to be a firefighter, seemed like an overall nice guy, but that didn't really matter to the scared liberal in a Prius, who appeared to have judge a good man based on negative stereotypes of African Americans furthered by an overwhelmingly liberal Hollywood. Maybe if liberals stopped stereotyping African Americans as scary gangsters, and conservatives as equally scary mobs of skinheads. They'd finally realize that the real scared racist can be seen in their mirror.
