After Photolysis Of Water In Photosynthesis Does The H Ion Remain In Thylakoid Space Or Move Into

What is the photolysis of water in photosynthesis?

The photolysis of water (H2O) in the light reactions of photosynthesis occurs in the water-splitting complex of photosystem II embedded in thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts where light is used to split water molecules as represented by the following equation:2H2O → 4H+ + 4e- + O2Oxygen (O2) is liberated to the atmosphere as a waste product in this process. In this way, electrons (e-) are gained to replace those lost through photoexcitation from chlorophyll a in the reaction center of photosystem II which begins noncyclic photophosphorylation. In the light reactions, electrons lost by chlorophyll are used to generate ATP for energy, and to reduce NADP to use as a reducing agent in the Calvin cycle where monosaccharides are fixed from atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) and used by the plant for structure and energy.Photosystem II:Oxygen-evolving complex (water-splitting complex):Photosystem II animation [4:32]:

What is the path of carbon through photosynthesis and respiration?

In photo synethseis carbon dioxide comes in through the leaves. It exciteds the electron transport chain and electrons get moved to get stimulated in photolysis. The Carbon is then stored in the chlorophyll until it is needed for respiration. In respiration the chlorophyll transfers the carbon out and into the stigmas. Which then transfres to leaves and then it comes out. However, it is different for C-3 and C4 plants.

Photolysis during photosynthesis takes place in what?

Photolysis takes place in the thylakoidal part of the grana.

Summary for celllular respiration & photosynthesis.?

Cellular respiration:

oxygen + glucose = carbon dioxide + water + energy

Okay, we breathe in oxygen and eat food. The food is broken down to glucose and used for energy. Carbon dioxide and water are co products.

photosynthesis

carbon dioxide + water + sunlight = glucose(starch) + oxygen + energy

plants take in CO2 and water and sunlight. And make starch which in turn makes energy. Oxygen is released
