Windows 8...what's wrong with it..?
I like the tiles too. They put all my most used programs a single click away and I can pin a ton more programs than I ever could on the task bar and they're large enough that I don't feel like I'm cluttering everything up like it would if I tried to do the same thing on my desktop using icons. Anywho, sales of PC were predicted to take a tumble before Windows 8 was released. Some were overly optimistic that Windows 8 would turn the tide but blamed Microsoft when it didn't. A massive problem with Windows 8 is that Microsoft fully expected people to just "get" the new interface. There's this really unhelpful tutorial about pulling open the charms bar when a new user account is first signed in. I know know about anyone else, but by the time I got signed in for the first time, I had completely forgotten about the charms bar. People using new laptops with Windows 8 can be especially confounded by the app switching gesture. Swiping from outside the left side of the trackpad toward the center will switch the screen to the last used app or the start screen. If you didn't know about the new gestures then it would seem like Windows was acting on its own for no reason at all. So I hope they do a better job of user training in the 8.1 update because it is badly needed to help users acclimate to the new interface. Other than the start screen there's really nothing wrong with Windows 8. The OS is stable and compatible with most everything that's been released over the past 5 years and even stuff older than that. - Dominic
Why are Windows 8 and Windows 9 not coming on computers?
They already did.Windows 8 came out after Windows 7. It came out in 2012. The new user interface wasn't well liked, so it was revamped and along with other fixes came out with Windows 8.1. Don't know how you missed it, but you must've.Windows 9 came out in the 1990s. Windows 95. Windows 98. Window Me were all shorthand referenced as Win9x. Because of that shorthand, there was the potential for buggy engineering (If version contains “Windows 9” stop) but also confusing marketing and advertising. Would people really care about that missing 5 or 8 or would they think Microsoft was retro-advertising Windows 95?So, they aren't coming because they already left. They weren't well loved. Buh-bye!
What is the worst thing you hate about Windows 8?
Why should it be worst? Windows 8 is better than windows 7. It's just that all are saying windows 8 is not as good as 7. It's like going from XP to Vista. Windows 8 is a lot better than windows 7. Boot time is fast, task manager is better, and copying files menu is better. And not to forget that the whole UI is smoother and PC runs faster .People don't like the concept of the start menu, and like the old start menu of windows 7. For that you can install any software which is available on the internet and it will do the work for you.
How to reformat my new laptop with windows 8?
hey there I have a couple questions. I bought a laptop from Costco last week and it has windows 8 installed in it. One thing I noticed is that the laptop didn't come with a windows 8 reformatting disk, for if I ever need to reformat it. I asked a friend what he thought about it and he said he is pretty sure that now days you only have to press a button on the laptop to reformat the computer so there is no need for buying reformatting discs. Is this true?? If so, how and what button do I press? Do the steps fallow like windows usual reformatting process? also one more question, if it is true that all I have to do is press a key on my laptop to reset windows 8, can I downgrade my laptop with windows 7, but later go back to windows 8 by pushing that button? you see I like windows 7 better, and I have a windows 7 upgrade/ reformatting disk set that I own, and I don't like windows 8 really..So I am wondering, If i downgrade to windows 7, but in like six months decide I want to go back to windows 8, can I do that by easily pushing the button/reformatting that's in the laptop? or will I have to go and buy windows 8 with money I don't have at the store??

Don’t Do It !!Win-8 was so bad that new PCs came with the option to “upgrade” to Win-7. Break down any partitions and format the entire drive as on big Fat-32 disk. Now install Win-10 and you are set for years since Win-10 is the last operating system from Microsoft.
What will come after Microsoft Windows?
Microsoft I believe will try to be the first to innovate on VR / AR.I believe this will be the future of online schools, jobs and socializing!Two people on two sides of the globe eating Dinner and Breakfast together at the same VR / AR setting!But also for meetings... which can eliminate expensive travels!And for Controls... Imagine controlling machines in a hostile environment from a safe location.
What is the settings for "same brightness after power on" in windows 8?
Dont know why you are facing this problem. When i set a brightness during charging it gets back to that the next time i charge it. if you set both the brightness levels during charging and otherwise to the same value you should not be facing this problem. go to the power options in the taskbar and change the brightness levels to same value there. should not face this problem after that. but every time without charging the latop you keep tweaking your brightness there is no way to keep the same brightness when you plug in your adapter. maybe you can try putting your laptop in always the same power mode. if you put in power saver mode, it'll go off that, while charging so better create a new one for this purpose.
Will Windows 8 come too late to make a difference?
That depends on whats happening when its released. It also depends on what new features will be featured in Windows 8. By announcing that the next generation of Windows will be available on ARM could be a big deal. There are rumors that Windows 8 will come with an app store and since Apple has already started with their own store, Microsoft can still make a difference
