Alright I Want To Loose 20 Lbs By July 1st Any Tips

I want to lose 50 lbs in the next 3 months. Can I safely do that?

You can safely lose about 1% of your body weight per week. If you weigh 250 lbs, that's 2.5 lbs/week or ~10 lbs/month for the first couple of months. You need slightly over a 1000 calorie deficit each day to achieve this. When you get under 200 lbs, you should reduce your deficit (500-800 is ok).

Counting calories really helps, it's the only way in the beginning to really know how much you're eating. It's also important to make sure you don't eat too little, which can slow your metabolism down and make it easier to gain when you switch to maintenance. There are plenty of sites online where you can count calories without too much effort.

I don't know your age/height, but your BMR is probably around 1900. You shouldn't ever eat less than this, because it's what your body needs to function properly. You can also get stuck in your weight loss if you eat too little.. your body will try to conserve energy by slowing your metabolism.

You likely burn quite a lot even if you're sedentary, the calculator I checked estimates 2900, which already gives you a 1000 calorie deficit if you eat 1900. If you start doing more strenuous exercise, I recommend upping your calories to 2000 or 2200 on those days. I eat 2200 to lose, but I walk as my main mode of transport (4+ miles/day) and lift weights. Calories burned/needed will change as you lose weight, so you should recalculate every 20-30 lbs lost.

Lifting (heavy!) weights btw is a great way to increase your burn and actually see results more quickly in inches lost. It's really hard to get "bulky" as a woman, and while eating at a deficit it's pretty much impossible.. you'll just retain the muscle you have and lose fat instead, which makes you smaller. Starting Strength, Female Body Breakthrough and New Rules of Lifting for Women are good programs to start with (you can find the books at the library or a bookstore, and SS has lots of info on youtube and their web site).

Don't be discouraged by a small gain.. my weight fluctuates as much as 5 lbs in a day. Food and water weigh a lot (2 liters of water is almost 5 lbs!), but doesn't mean you've gained fat. If you only weigh yourself once a week, at the same time of day, you'll get a better idea of real weight loss.

I am 13 years old,and I'm almost 260 lbs,and I wanna lose around 100+ lbs by June. Anyone got any tips?

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

I'm starting to get chubby! I need to lose 20lbs? I'm 15.?

I am 5'5- 5'6, 19 y/o and 166 lbs. How much should I weight?

i don't judge weight by diet charts. i got down to the chart weight once and my family thought i looked awful/sickly. Honey, you be your own judge. It's all about how you feel about yourself. Look at Queen Latifa...(I apologize if i misspelled her name},she's a large gal and I think she looks great. Just be happy with yourself and don't let others tell you how you should look.

I am almost 400 lbs and feel ugly.?

I am really over weight and want I start loosing weight. I have been married for 3 yrs and have a baby boy. My anniversary is October 1st. I want o show my husband that I care and I wanna be a healthier wife and mother because that's the most important thing he wants and asks from me. Thing is, I am not motivated. He bought me a gym membership, buys me healthy food and is a good provider. I love him and he loves me but I am 400 lb and he's 180 that's embarrasing. Please no rude comments. I want to change any advice on how o get motivated. Thanks

How to lose 40 lbs in 60 days?

Okay... I know this is probably insane- but I want to lost as close to or over 40 lbs in 60 days. I get married September 6th and I want to lost some weight- in a hurry. I signed up for a gym membership and I start going this weekend. I do half an hour of intense yoga 5 days a week. I chase around my 2 kids- ages 1 and 6. I take the dog for a half mile walk every night, while pushing a stroller at the same time. I hardly ever sit down because I'm always playing with the kids, cleaning the house, at work as a waitress, etc.
So- how can I drop weight in a big hurry? I want to jump start some weight loss so when I hit the gym every day I can see results a bit faster- I want to drop 40 lbs and tone muscle.
I am 5'5" and weigh about 180- having a lot of trouble dropping weight from being pregnant with my second baby!!
