Am I Allowed To Take Birthcontrol In Airforce Basic Traiming

Are you allowed to take birth control while in basic training/military?

I'm going to enlist when I finish high school and I was wondering if I could get permission to be on birth control b/c i don't want to get cramps or bleed everywhere. I read some answers here on yahoo that said alot of women miss there periods because of stress but the thing is for me is that I've been training non-stop for the past few months. 100 sit up and about 30-50 push ups, running for atleast 30min-60 in the morning and night, swim, hiking etc . I wake up at 5am in the morning everyday. I also work full time even on the weekends for 12 hours straight at mcdonalds. I know alot of ppl are goin to laugh about working in mcdonalds but it's stressfull expecially if you work at the famous mcdonalds in Time Square lol I know it can't compare to military training but you do get stressed alot dealing to angry costumers 24/7

Basic Training & Birth Control?

When you report back to MEPS to ship out make sure you have your presciption with your name on it. When you get to pergatory (pre-basic physical). Just pull out the meds and write it on your medical app there. They allow you to take the medicine but it is stored with your drill sgt and alloted to you at a designated time of the day. You will not be able to keep it with you and you will be forced to show the drill sgt that you have swallowed your pill. They do this because of the number of attempted suicides of pill overdoses. Not that you can on BC pills but they don't wont you to be the first one to figure out how.

Birth Control during Air Force Basic Training?

my girlfriend is in marine boot camp right now. i do not think she was allowed to take any birth control with her to training. she wasn't on any when she left so that's why i'm not positive. i know there isn't a whole lot you can bring with you.
now, i do know that they have put her on birth control. just so when she goes on leave nothing will happen that will jeopardize her ability to train and do her job.
also, i heard that it is very common for female recruits to not have their periods at all while they're at boot. because of the constant stress. now obviously i don't really know about that, its just what i've read and been told.
it makes sense that you wouldn't want to ask your recruiter yet. but they will tell you what you can and cannot bring to basic. as far as medications, i'm pretty sure the doctor that gives you your physical before you go will tell you if you can bring any medications to training. only the stuff you need need.
hope this helped a little. best of luck to you!

Taking birth control in air force basic?

Hopefully there are some girls out there who just finished basic training and can help me out with this question. I know you are not allowed to take prescription medicines with you to bootcamp, unless your recruiter has said that you can and you get the prescription filled out again when you arrive. The problem is, my recruiter is a dude and he doesn't really know the rules about taking birth control in basic. I know it's allowed if you're already taking it to stay regulated, but I don't know exactly what you have to do to make sure you're able to take it while you're in basic..He doesn't know what to tell me and I don't wanna bring my pills with me just to get yelled at for it by my T.I...so have any of you taken birth control in basic? and if you have, can you tell me what exactly you had to do?
thanks in advance

During basic training are females allowed to remain on the birth control pill?

Yes. During the physical for entering the military, any and all prescriptions taken by a recruit are taken into account for their "fitness for duty" determination. It's not all that different from hay fever or blood pressure medication.

Remember also that while no branch of the military will encourage birth control pills, keeping the pant zippers of both male and female soldiers in the up position will be stressed. They are in the business of combat readiness, not providing day care.

Cell Phone usage in Air Force basic training?

Because I've actually gone through AF basic training, and while it was long before cell phones came into general use (1969), nonetheless....I'll guarantee you that certain things haven't changed. While you can bring anything you want into basic, there's no guarantee you're gonna be allowed to keep what you bring, (they wouldn't allow me to have my electric razor, but they returned it to me when I left). Remember, the drill instructors are evaluating you all the time. That is EVERYTHING you do and say and BRING!....your reactions, your hesitations, your ability to follow orders and comprehend. I repeat.... EVERYTHING. And while some things go past you because you are living in a blur....literally for six weeks, you will barely have the time to think...you are being closely observed and evaluated in ways you cannot even begin to imagine. Example? OK. Say you bring a personal item like a cell phone.....You are gonna stand out from everyone else who didn't...you just failed at the conformity test, the common sense test and the awareness test. The DI's want to see conformity more than anything else, and you just displayed individualism. Showing individualism is the quickest way to getting attention you will NOT want. I hope this answers your question.
Priceless advice? Keep your eyes and ears open...AND YOUR MOUTH SHUT! And you will get through.

Will I be allowed to take my birth control during Navy bootcamp?

if i were you i would get the dp shot (depo provera) before you go so you don't have to worry about a regimented birth control. DP will protect you from pregnancy for 90 days and is THE most effective form of it. Its hassle free, and will last you through your eight week training. Then, if you choose, you can go back on the pill, but personally i like dp. Also, you don't have to worry about weight gain with all the exercising you'll be doing, or about getting periods.

It can take as long as a day… or a year.. and everything in between. If there is a occupational school that you signed up for and it starts every 6 months.. you will probably have to wait for the right time to leave. However, if you just want to ship today… should be no issue either. A few other things to consider: each Recruiting Station has a specific quota of recruits to send every month so sometimes a poolee is shipped to boot camp when they ‘fit the schedule’ … Additionally, you will go to MEPS twice, (unless you are a direct shipper) the first time to take your ASVAB and get a physical, the second time is the day you ship (just a quick physical again) and face ‘the moment of truth’.

What can I bring to Air Force Technical Training?

Depending upon your Tech School, you should have a few places that is equipped with wireless internet. Buying a laptop after BMT is a common choice.

2 years ago, I was at Keesler AFB for Tech School (which is no different from other bases). You will eventually be allowed off base and you can immediately go to the Base BX to buy a TV, DVD Player, etc. if you want. There are always people leaving tech school and selling their TV's for cheap, so I would ask around that way first.

Speaking of buying stuff, whatever you do, do NOT buy a care at Tech School. Most used car shops around the base that offer "sweet deals for all E-1's and up" are scam artists.

If you are only at Tech School for a few weeks or a couple months, a TV wont matter much. You will be busy studying and hanging out, outside the dorms that you wont want to be inside your room. Also, each dorm has a "common room" that has a large screen TV and a dvd player.

Derrick's answer still mainly holds true. However, there was a request for a more recent experience, so I'll provide that. I went through USAF Basic Military Training during the summer of 2014. Our Individual flights were entirely one gender. There's no mixing of the genders in the same quarters. We called our barracks  "Dorms". I went through BMT in the 322nd TRS.We called our flight across the hall either a "brother" or "sister" flight depending upon their gender. The only times that we were really ever even allowed to speak to a female "trainee" (before graduation you're not allowed to report as an airman) was during our squadron run/cardio days, when there was plenty of yelling encouragement to one another, and there were hundreds of trainees on the track at a time. So, while there is coed BMT, in a manner of speaking, the flights are not in mixed company.Although flights may have a Military Training Instructor of the opposite gender, there were additional guidelines that opposite gender MTIs had to follow. If you have any additional questions, I'll be happy to answer in the comments.Thank you for your time, A1C White
