Help circumventing compatibility issues in Windows 7 (16-bit application)?

I have a stat program - The Automated Scorebook from StatCrew software - that I have been ussing for years. I just bought a new laptop (where I always use the program) and it has Windows 7 on it. Of course, since the application is 16-bit at its core (the part where you enter in all the stats), it won't run in W7. I asked on here how to solve this and I was shown DOSBOX ... and it works, but with a problem.

Since the DOS emulator won't write (re: won't output the stats to the program), it is useless to me. I can enter the play-by-play like normal, but that is it ... I can't collate the information unless I send it to a desktop. However, even then, because of the way the program writes to disk, season and career stats are out; I have nothing but individual game files.

So, before I install XP (or dual boot), does anyone have any ideas? I enjoy having 7 on the laptop because that gives me a box for every OS (aside from MAC; XP, Vista, 7, and Linux) but I need to have this stat program on my laptop.

FYI, the company does have a 32-bit version but it doesn't count as an upgrade and I am not interested in paying $400 for something that, under normal circumstances, works fine for me.

Thank you in advance.

Doing MS from BITS Pilani with wipro is good or bad?

Wase program is not a bad option for one to choose. You can opt for WASE rather than going for MCA. You don't have to be financially depended on any one. After 4 years you may earn more than MCA guy. Other companies do offer good packages to WASEians. You will have the opportunity to work and gain good amount of experience since Wipro works on cutting edge technologies. It is not true that if you switch to some other company ,you will not be considered as an experienced resource. Certainly you will get good hike after completing your WASE. Eventually what matters is your knowledge. Most of the WASEians get the opportunity to go onsite soon after they complete their WASE. But you have to work very hard during your training periods. Remember there are many people who do not have any Job. So doing MS from BITS Pilani with wipro is a good option.

I got placed in both Accenture and Cognizant companies and I want to pursue my higher studies (MS in the USA) through any of these companies. Which gives more importance to higher studies?

As Sathvik said, there are many premium institutes in India. You can get scholarship or Bank loan to pursue MS. My advice is do the programme by regular full-time and not by correspondence. If you are into these companies, you will hardly find time to concentrate on your studies. Moreover, correspondence is always considered low when compared to regular full-time.

Does a MBA in accounting and finance have good scope in the future ?

They do. As long as there are public companies out there, we will need accounts to prepare the financial statements, accountants to audit the financial statements, accountants to prepare tax returns for the companies, and financiers to analyze the financial statements and advise investors.

FYI, MSA's have fewer general business classes and are much more heavy on accounting. So, you might want to look at the MSA programs at universities. The one I'm in requires one business law course, one elective, and everything else is accounting. We have one accounting class called financial statement analysis. One of my friends who majored in finance in undergrad said that class is basically a little bit of everything you learn in all the undergrad finance classes.

Is it worth to get PhD in Chemical Engineering?

Finding a sponsor would be easier once you have a PhD because the companies that hire you will know that you really know your stuff and they will want you to work for their companies.

Jobs for PhDs are not rare. There are lots of them out there. You just need to know how to look for them. Chem Eng are in demand in Oil/Gas companies (many in Texas). Industry also requires Chem Engs with PhDs in materials sciences. If you picks A PhD with a specialization in something that the industry wants, you will be a hot commodity and it will be easier for you to get sponsorship.

Advice:
1) Go get your PhD (even if you don't get it, hopefully you will end up with a MS)
2) Apply for green card while in grad school
3) Make sure you go into a specialization that is marketable and needed in the private sector.

Good Luck
