Am I Eligible For A Commercial Pilot Training If Iam Currently Pursuing Btech In Civil Engineering

Is it possible to become a pilot after completing civil engineering?

I prefer It is tough because if you completed your Engineering means you spend a good amount of time in the Degree so at least you reached 21 or 22 years of old.it is a major draw back for pilot in this new era, because Airlines need pilots with min of 7000 - 10000 hrs of flying hours and that guy should be lesser that 30 yrs of old.why i am saying all these according to new rules Pilot cannot exceed 1000 hrs of flying in one year, so if you started to become a pilot after engineering means these eligibility will take you to 30 -35 years of oldi recommend if you are pursuing the Engineering and Pilot career values you more means…Drop Engineering and Join Pilot Training.Good Luck

I am currently an engineering student. I want to become a pilot once I’m done with my degree. How do I pursue my CPL in India and then settle in London? Is that possible?

Koi foreigner ki baat maat suno. Ye log chahta hain ki tum Australia jao, aur unke school se ppl karo. Aur baad mein paastao. No use.If you become a pilot in anywhere in world, no Airline in world will employ you except India. Every airline recruits fresher pilots of their own nationals. You can get trained from Australia or Canada, but you will have to convert that license into Indian License, pass Indian Exams as per DGCA , pass RTR. The amount of money time and effort you will loose to get an Indian license, you may have to give up by the time for frustration after wasting 50 lac of rupees.Once you are employed in any Airline in India, have lot of experience, then you can move to anywhere in world. Below 5000 hours of jet experience, No airline like Emirates , British Airways will not take you.You will have to work in India only for the first 10 years of your career. It is your choice if you want to go to Australia and aapna paisa baarbad karo.

Hy,I’ll be brief in my answer and you can click this link [1] and read my answer for other Quora user who posed a similar question request. Don’t forget to read more footnote links in the same link if you’ve time. As it may be useful for your pilot training.First attain Class 2 medicals and then go for class 1 medicals. Go to DGCA website you can find the Class 2 and class 1 certified doctors, clinics or hospitals all over India. First finish with class 2 and go for applying for a flying school or their entrance tests. And then besides after receiving class 2 get your class 1 done bcoz after attaining PPL(Private Pilot License) You’ll need class 1 medicals to proceed the training… till that… one can manage with class 2 medicals, remember!! And also remember medicals will assess whether you’re fit to the career of pilot or not. Do it first!!!If you want to join a particular flying school in India or abroad and their program research well about them and get to know facts on them from their alumnae people. You’ll find them if you start your research through social media and aviation forums.Ready your finances after your research. Have a back up.Take up program which will lead you to complete CPL with MER/MEIR(Multi-Engine Rating/ME Instrument Rating) as Indian CPL needs just 200 hrs in Single Engine which is not a preferable one by most of the employers as a good graduation in pilot training line. Complete your training from the reputed flying school from India or abroad whichever is most comfortable to your style. Try to complete all training within a short period of time say 13–15 months. This will prove your dedication to your interviewers where you go. If done from abroad while returning to India you’ve to convert your license to in accordance with Indian DGCA standards. Thus you’ve to take up some tests and rides to pass the license conversion. Be ware!Apply for an airlines or if you’ve campus(in case) appear for it. Fly Your Dreams!! I’ll insist you too to do more research before jumping in to this careerFootnotes[1] Heamenth Muruga's answer to How do I become a pilot in India? I am about to complete my 12th standard. What information about college and other processes required for the same can you give?

If I want to be an airline pilot in India after my B.Tech degree, how do I start? Should I be taking flying lessons while pursuing my B.Tech degree?

As a B.Tech student I’m guessing you already have the basic math and physics knowledge you need in order to start airline pilot training. But the procedure is not different for anyone. No course or degree makes the process of becoming an airline pilot any different, easy or difficult.I would first recommend you to give your 100% to your B.Tech, your B.Tech marks could also be considered during selection process in the flight school. While you’re doing your B.Tech, get a full body check up from a doctor and see if there is any health related obstruction towards you being a pilot and then work towards it. Physical fitness is a must and that’s the only thing you need to think about right now. I recommend going to a DGCA certified medical practitioner and getting a class 2 medical. If you still really want to do something related to it now, then go online and give psychometric tests. These are important tests and a part of selection process in both flying schools and airlines. In the final semester of your graduation, you should start checking out entrance exam application dates and aptitude tests application dates for the flying school you want to get your training from. Visit a national bank and enquire about loans if you need one (at IGRUA you pay 42 lakhs and 15 lakhs for type rating to another institute). Currently there is only one flying school in India which is performing extremely well and it’s IGRUA. The other best option is Chimes Aviation. You need to go for their entrance test, aptitude test, interview and all other things that they ask for when you submit the application. You can also go for the safer option of going for the Indigo Cadet Program. From here on, they will guide you towards everything, for more questions about aviation check out my other answers on Quora. Upvote if they help!
