Am I In Good Shape 5

How long will it take me to get in good shape if I'm a 21 year old female who is 5'6" and 118 pounds?

You should start seeing results within the first 6-8 weeks, but that depends on a couple of factors.Let me explain:Any sort of physical activity has less of an impact than diet (some people say as little as 30% of losing weight is due to exercise). What this means is that if you eat a choc chip muffin for breakfast, you can't "work it off" by going to the gym - it just doesn't work that way.I would suggest you cut down on carbohydrates (bread, pasta, pastries). Also, we don't need to add sugar or salt to any meals, as most foods already have either one of the two, and from a nutritional point of view, we're getting enough by following a healthy diet. Now, in terms of gym - It's a great idea! Why? Well, for myself I feel great after a workout, it boosts my mood for some reason - which has a positive effect on self discipline, which helps me avoid eating those yummy carbs.Another point about gym, and specifically weight training for women:You won't get huge. You won't start looking like a man.Your testosterone levels are just too low to result in big muscles. Many women I've spoken to won't touch free weights because the believe this fallacy - and this is hampering their progress. How do some women get so muscular you ask?-Steroids (I'm generalizing of course).Do a couple of basic exercises like squats, bench press and pullups (have the gym staff help you with technique) and stick to those to build strength and shape your muscles. That way you kill two birds with one stone:[1] These are compound exercises - This means they work several muscles at the same time - which means you'll get great results.[2]  You'll spend less time in the gym, because you only do a few exercises -  which target several muscles at the same time, so you're  getting a full workout, in less time.Do cardio a couple of times during the week (40 min walk), but "to get in good shape" requires weight training. The most important thing is to get started. And remember, small gains are still gains, you won't transform your body overnight (this is were self discipline is important).Best of luck and have fun!

I am 5 foot and 7 inches. What should be my body shape so that I could look great in this height?

First of all i am saying in behalf of men.I dont know whether these will be effective for women .I am 5′ 11″ and i always do these for a relatively greater height feeling and also it gives you a confidence boost and these are just my opinions.Stand in an upright way ie. Back straight and chest expanded. While you are walking maintain this posture and control your sway of arms ie.dont make it too wide nor too narrow.Dont wear baggy clothes they’ll make you look shorter, instead wear clothes that suit your size.Wear a footwear that has a relatively larger heel.Wear dark coloured clothes. Also if you are below 25 years of age and if you follow the first two steps then there is a chance for a slight increase in your physical height. Wear and do accordingly and it’ll give you a slight increase in inches .

Can I have a muscular (good shaped) (ripped) body if I'm 5'8" (172 cm)?

The way your muscles are shaped on your body has nothing to do with height. However, your body frame(skeletal structure and width) will determine your 'type' of muscular appearance.Everybody, regardless of their height, has the opportunity to have an aesthetic physique. In my case, I'm 5'9 and have been told by many people (even family!) that I could never look good if I were muscular- I'd look like a short box, according to them.Fast forward 2 years and now I'm 18, in college with not a single regret! My skeletal structure is just a bit wider than normal, and thus I look a bit bulkier than your typical Hollister boy. But hey, I'm way stronger ;)Attached are some photos of me, one even in my high school weight room!March 2018I’m only 5’9 - I don’t know, I think I look pretty good, even if I’m not that tall ;)

I’m 15, 5′3″ and 115 lbs. I’m in a good shape and have a little bit of muscle; however, I want to be really fit (maybe with six packs and bigger arms). Do I have to watch what I eat, or can I just work out a lot?

Hey, there future men's health magazine cover model!I’ll keep this short and sweet. At the age of 15, you’re still growing and developing. To achieve what you’re looking to do….YES, you’ll need to pay attention to what you are fueling your body with. The big arms will come with working out and eating lots of protein to help build those muscles. The 6 pack abs will come from NOT eating like you’re 15…What I mean is, along with that protein you need to be consuming, you’ll need to be eating lots of vegetables and slow digesting carbohydrates. So while your friends are eating pizza, burgers, and sodas you should be passing on these foods.Since you’re young, your metabolism is probably firing pretty fast, so you won’t have to worry about what you eat as much as say a forty-year-old (your metabolism slows down as you get older) but you still need to be aware of what you're putting in your body. Here is a blog that covers what you should and shouldn’t be eating.Good Luck Hulk!

How long does it take to get back in shape?

This question is a bit vague and unclear. I will try to answer and give you some clues. ( based on personal experience)Suppose you are currently healthy and you have been physically active for few years. You were athletic and strong with low body fat and generally a very fit person. You lived the good life for few years. During that time, you used good nutrition suitable for your physical sporting activities and you recovered well. You were living a low-stress life. You were thriving and doing great, physically. For some reason, you stopped for six months to a year or more. You have been following a sedentary life of office desk, poor sleeping habits, and using substandard or bad nutrition. You are living a high-stress lifestyle. If that is the case with you, then it will take about 6 months to a year before you can compare your self to the early stages of your previous fitness condition. It takes time and focus on Nutrition, Sleeping and Training the Sports to get you started back into Fitness.I suggest you go back to drawing board and start all over again. If you are absent from your physical activities less than six months, then within few weeks to a couple of months you can see a major improvement with your mobility, strength, stamina. It takes time based on nutrition, recovery and how you train. For example, I had to stop weightlifting to attend to a small injury. This break from weightlifting lasted about 2 months. When I went back to start the usual training, I was struggling with the same usual weights and the usual intensity. I had to start back again from a safe position of light weight and gradual increase of time under tension. I clearly lost some strength and power in addition to flexibility and stamina. I also gained about 5-pounds of fat.4 months later, I am in full swing and making progress every time I train. I can tell by my numbers on the major lifts. I have lost the extra body fat (I am much leaner) and I am on my way to make more progress. I had to tweak my nutrition and add more recovery time to catch up!

What is a good time to run 5 miles in?

Ignore all the bragging!Just to run a full 5 miles is an achievement. For a 20yo in good shape, (and I don't mean a regular runner, just not morbidly obese or suffering from any illness,) a time of 40 min or less would be pretty good. In fact, for a non runner of any age, 10 min per mile would be OK as a start point. Keeping that up for 5 will take at least a bit of training. From day one of your running, it would take about 6 weeks, running 3–4 times per week, to knock 25% off your initial time. But you wouldn't start off with the full 5 miles. If you take it seriously, there's no reason why you shouldn't be aiming for a much quicker time. But take your time and get a good training plan or you'll end up injuring yourself.

Should a short man go to the gym?

They definitely should, they actually need it more than an average height man BUT they should avoid bulking and powerlifting.Lets take Tom Cruise, he stands 5′7 (170 cm) but look at his physique. He has a fit body and that compensates his lack of height. If you are a short men and going to the gym, that should be the type of body to aim for.

What is a good 800m time for a 6th Grade girl?

Would Girls Prefer: Tall & Fat or Short & Ripped?

most of my boyfriends have been short and ripped...

a guy has no control over how tall he is, but he DOES have control over how ripped he is.

its hot when a guy cares about how he looks ;)
