I think I am in love with someone, what should I do?
Met him in 1997 when i was only 16 years old. He was in the Air Force and i was in high school. I dated his friend, even though i always had my eyes on him. And he had his eyes on me. He never knew how i felt because i would disclose my feelings to him. We became very close friends. He has dated a few of my past friends and i dated one of his. Partied together ect.. When i turned 20 years old and he 23 at the time. He expressed to me that he has always loved me and that he wants a future with me. But because of his past of being a play boy i refused. I loved him as my best friend despite his player ways. He was always good to me and has always respected me. I knew deep down that, that play boy ways was just a facade and not actually him.We kept it at a friendship level. I loved him even more for that. He asked to be my first child God father. And he is. But our lives were i interrupted once I introduced him years later to a friend of mine and they hooked up. I became jealous but hid my feelings about them to myself. We became distant and years went by and i didn't see him for 17 years. This year 2017 in February we were connected again , because a mutual friend of ours was getting married. Once i heard his voice i started to cry. I missed him so much. My friend, My partner in crime as we would say. Joy came over me in ways i can't explain. Over the years i would speak of him to friends and family with the biggest smile on my face. Once we reconnected he expressed to me that he never stopped loving me and that he never brought his feelings towards me up again because he wanted to respect my wishes. And that he didn't want to loose me as his friend. But he's married now 2 years in. He has expressed that his wife is a good woman but not the woman for him and that he wants to be with me. Im in love with him, but i refuse to help disrupt his marriage because i don't want that Karma and my heart can't take hurting another woman. I think im in love with my best friend. What should i do?
I am in love. How do I concentrate on my studies when my mind is occupied with her?
So, if you are studying, you might be in either school or college and mostly in your teens. I would not call this as love but infatuation, which every boy and girl would develop due to the hormonal changes.During my third year in engineering, a girl proposed me(I was pretty good at studies & in extra curricular activities too) but I turned down her proposal because I was the first graduate in my family and my entire family was waiting for me to join a company after my studies.I would not preach or advise that love is bad and you need to concentrate on your studies. It is normal to fall in love at this stage and if your love is true you will find every chances to take care of your love which you can do only if you study well.You will be fed by your parents and respected in this society only till you graduate out of college and then you will be seen as an object of burden unless you are not independent.So, it is better to concentrate more on studies compared to love, say in 70:30 ratio, that you can study well and get placed or go to higher studies after you graduate, but still you her truly.Once you settle in your life, you opinions and views will be respected by people and when you inform your parents about your parents, the chances of your parents accepting your love will much more higher.So, if you are getting distracted while studying, call her, talk to her for some minutes and then go back to study. Love is equally important as your education.Study well.. All the best for your love life.This is purely my view on love.The same girl proposed me again after I got placed in a good organisation but still I told her that I was not intrested that I don't want to leave my family immediately after I got a job and was able to be independent. She understood that and we are good friends now.
