Do I have to worry about custom duties when I bring in a DSLR to India?
Hi All,This is my questions as I can’t type this question with limit of 250 words.I am travelling to India from New Zealand on my Indian passport. It is my first trip back home so I am bit confused. I have booked international flight ticket from NZ to Mumbai, and separate ticket from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. I have two questions;(i) I bought 7-8 jackets for my family members and friends. Do I have to show the jackets to Custom officers at Mumbai or anyone at Ahmedabad? I'm sure if I convert price of all the jackets to INR from NZD, it will be higher than Rs. 50,000. Do I have to pay any charge?? One of my friend told me to take the tag off from the jacket.(ii) I bought new DSLR camera here last month for my own personal use which I am taking it with me in my carry on luggage, but I have another simple camera that I bring here with me 3 years back. My old camera has video recording and other normal features. I want to give that camera to my parents. So, can I carry both cameras at the same time? Will I face any problem/questions at Mumbai or Ahmedabad for carrying two camera?Thanks
