Am I Losing Weight Too Fast

Am I losing too much weight too fast?

I'm 51 and way too heavy (I started at 285 and 5'5"), but lately I've been losing a lot of weight without really trying (19 pounds since Halloween). The only part of my diet I've changed is that I'm not using sugar-free sweeteners anymore, and so some of my cravings for sweets have gone down. I had colon cancer 5 years ago, but I'm being monitored for any recurrence, and that's fine, so it's not that. I've also lost some of my appetite for no real reason.

Why am I losing weight so fast?

Check your blood glucose level. Your body might have a deficiency in adequate insulin production (a condition known as diabetes). This results in shutting down your ability to convert food into energy. Since your body requires energy for living, and it cannot receive this energy from the food you eat, it will seek this energy from alternate sources within the body - fat and proteins stored in the tissues. This results in literally burning down your body for fuel, and a resultant rapid weight loss. You can lose several kilo/pounds of body weight within a matter of 2–5 weeks.Other symptoms of insulin deficiency are:Constant urge/need to urinate because your kidneys are working overtime to eliminate glucose from blood, since all the carbohydrates you consume ends up as glucose in your blood with no place else to go.Constant thirst, demanded by kidneys to keep the blood volume high and prevent the body from dehydrating.“sugar” (glucose) in urine.Weakness, lack of energy, lack of enthusiasm/vim and vigor.sores developing in eyes, body and genitalia due to excessive sugar excretion via. urine, tears and sweat. If you eliminate insulin deficiency as the most probable cause for weight loss, please consult a endocrinologist or physician to find out whether a hormonal imbalance (thyroid) might be the cause for sudden weight loss.

Am I losing weight too fast?

I have a lot of weight to lose (over 100lbs) and by changing my eating habits I have lost 15lbs in less than 3 weeks!
I am really happy with my results and my eating plan. I am still having "treats" such as little bits of chocolate, and the odd slice of toast. But I am just eating small meals of wholegrain pasta/bread/rice or potatoes with lots of vegetables. I am also eating meat and fruit with some low fat cheese or yoghurts.
I feel the best I've ever felt, I'm really enjoying how I'm eating and combined with gentle exercise... the weight is just falling off me.

However a lot of people have said 1-2lb a week is the ideal speed to lose weight. I'm much faster than that.. is that okay?

I think i'm losing weight too fast.?

Okay so, my parents are telling me that i'm becoming too skinny. and they are worried. they are telling me i'm not eating enough but i am. in the summer i was over weight i use to weigh about 168 pounds and i'm between 5"2 and 5"3. also i'm 16. by the end of summer i weighed about 150 pounds and then the end of September i weighed 146. now i weigh 135 pounds. my parents are telling me i'm losing too fast and i think i am too but is it okay? i still have extra weight on me i'm not really skinny i just think i'm skinnier than they are use to seeing and that's why they think i'm "soo skinny" i have been getting way more exercise than i ever did and i do eat less than i did before, but, it's not that bad. I'm eating more protein in my diet so it keeps me full through out the day which makes me take in less calories. also, i drink a lot of water.

my typical day of food: (i'm a vegetarian. even when i was over weight i was a vegetarian because meat makes me sick)

breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with yogurt and water.
snack: water. usually some chips and fruit snacks.
dinner: water. egg sandwich (2 eggs)
supper: water. depends on what my mom cooks, usually rice or fries with veggie nuggets (contains spinach.)
snack: pasta or something like that./ water.

plus i eat more snacks sometimes through out the day. plus i have been eating a lot more candy than i use to because i have halloween candy left over but i'm still not gaining weight. i'm not complaining, i just wanna know if its healthy? i don't want to end up not ever gaining weight again and then i'm an ugly stick. :( please tell me if this is okay...should i be scared?

Am I losing weight too fast? Unhealthy or not?

On Dec. 20 I weighed 220 lbs. As a New Years Resolution, I stopped drinking soda and now only drink green tea and water. I cut back a lot on my sugar and sodium intake, stopped eating fast food, etc. I'm not on a diet or counting calories, I'm simply eating healthier foods and exercising (usually fast-paced walking) an hour a day and every now and then doing a work-out DVD. I eat three meals a day and two snacks (usually a fruit or veggie) in between.

Since January 1st I've lost 22 lbs and I'm losing roughly 1lb a day. I honestly feel 10x healthier. I'm sleeping better, I have a lot of energy without caffine, my skin is clearing up, even my moods are better.

My co-workers are also eating healthier and we all try to motivate and encourage each other to keep up the good work. When I told them how much I lost, they immediately told me that that is "too much too fast" and that it's unhealthy. I did have a doctors appointment about a week ago and I told my Dr. about my recent weight loss, and the she said as long as it's because I've made healthier lifestyle changes.

In your opinion, is it bad to be losing this much weight so fast? Google doesn't really provide me with consistent answers, because one article will say yes it's unhealthy and another will say no as long as I'm not starving myself or on some crazy crash diet (which I'm not). Keep in mind that I was eating VERY unhealthy prior to the New Year.
