Am I Ok Will I Be Able To Function With People

Function word problem...math people help...ten points for first right answer?

1) You're right
2) You should probably be making the connection that as 'm' goes higher, so does w(m), that is: Older baby girls weigh more than younger baby girls, or at least that the average 12 month old baby weighs more than the average 6 month old baby by 6 pounds.
3) Looks to me like they are looking for you to say that 'p' is probably less than 6 months.
4) She would be LESS than average weight. Its pretty easy to see this, if shes 8 months she should probably weigh somewhere between what a 6mo (15lb) and 12mo (21lb), but she doesnt, she weighs less.

From the two averages, you could make a straight line graph where you would be able to plot different months and weights, but the problem is that the graph can only be linear with 2 points, but in real life its much more complicated. :)

How do you feel about people who bring children to adult functions?

I've been in this situation and it pizzzes me off.

Last summer I hosted a late afternoon/early evening birthday party for an 80 year old friend.
Bar-b-que and cocktails, along with some adult games that involved passing balloons along knee to knee then breaking them bum to bum.
All this was incorporated in a race.
I guess you had to be there, but it was funny as hell at the time.

The cake was made by her niece, and it was somewhat on the obscene side also.
But funny.

I made it very clear - no children!
And along came Marilyn with her useless, mooching daughter and 5 year old grand daughter in tow.
I pondered the situation and thought that the games would be played after the meal.
Then I reconsidered and took Marilyn and her daughter aside and said, ''I thought it was clear. No children.''
''Well, I didn't think you would mind. There's always so much food''.
I explained that the theme was not for children.
And you know what she said?
She said, ''That's ok, my daughter watches everything on tv''.
I couldn't believe it.
I hardly knew what to say.
Now I can think of lots.
But in the end, I said ''No children means no children.''
They got mad and left.
It was a great party.

I have depression. I am able to function ok though I wish I could just do things without battling negativity. Will this ever be possible?

I think , as the daughter of a woman (my awesome Mom), who is bi-polar and was not diagnosed until going through life with three kids, a long battle with alcohol, two abusive marriages, and was seen as a functioning person, that my answer is going to have to be no, not without help. At some point, whether it be months or even years from now, you will probably find that you NEED help. Possibly medication (not nearly as scary as it sounds), but almost certainly therapy. My mother and I also agree that therapy is a good idea for everyone. I’m not positive and don’t want to put words in her mouth, but I seriously can say with no hesitation, “Therapy CAN’T HURT!” and she would fully agree.Simply Google “Free therapy” with your zip code and write down three or four numbers, call them and someone will help you.People who seek help before it’s a major obstacle in life are SO much more likely to overcome this issue, and/or find the best way to deal with it.Seriously, talk to someone! Find the number, make the call (or two..) and get in there! there are SO many people and places and options for you.I’m not even saying, get some therapy before it’s too late, I am just saying, ‘go ahead and talk to someone who knows what you are going through and has the knowledge to work with you and see how to help you! See how to get that negative monkey off your back!’ There are resources to help you so you can figure out how to stop enduring and start conquering this constant battle! For real, get off Quora and open a Google window and type it in, “Free therapy” with your zip code, write down ta few numbers of places that look good (location, whatever your biggest obstacle is (any place will help you-if you are making the cal, they want you to come in, they will see you are reaching out!), then go somewhere you can have a little privacy for a good fifteen minutes and make some calls.Do it now, with a pen and paper in hand and a few dates in mind that you have available to go in and have that first chat! For real, do this and I have a feeling you will feel a weight lifted even just when you have that paper in your hand.Best of luck! :)

Can I take half a 0.25mg tab of xanax and still be functional.?

Typically people are able to function normally when taking Xanax (alprazolam) or other anxiolytic benzodiazepines. Xanax is intended for daytime use, it is not a sleeping pill. You have also been prescribed the smallest strength available, there is a 0.5, 1, and 2 mg tablet available.

If you are highly sensitive to Xanax then you might find, after you take Xanax for the first few times you may experience some mild sedation but if this occurs it should not last very long. Rarely a person may simply be unable to tolerate Xanax due to side effects however that would be fairly rare since Xanax is typically well tolerated. Are you only prescribed 0.25 mg once a day or are you supposed to take it several times? Normally when Xanax is taken continuously it is taken 3-4 times a day. The official maximum daily dose is 4 mg except for panic disorder with or without agoraphobia in which case the maximum daily dose is 10 mg. You could always take Xanax for the first time when your not working so you can see how it effects you. And unless your doctor says otherwise I would not take half of the 0.25 mg tablet. Your doctor started you at 0.25 mg for a reason and frankly 0.125 mg of Xanax is not likely to produce much, if any, benefit.

If you still have questions/concerns don't hesitate to call your doctor or talk to your pharmacist (pharmacists are very knowledgeable and typically under underutilized)

I don't want to offends people but What is Austims?

Autism is not a bad thing, and you should not feel bad about asking about it. I had no idea what it was either till my 3 yr. old son was diagnosed with it. At first i was scared, and had no idea what to exspect. some were telling me it was like a retardation, others would say a handicap, all was bad information. There are different degrees in being autistic. My son they said is considered this because he uses parts of his brain that most people do not. Just to explain to him, my son can not talk clearly, his attention spand is next to none, he has a temper, he will bang his head on a wall when he is angry, carry on fits, and more, to extreams. BUT, at three, he can also put together a 60 pc. puzzle, ride a bike, rollar blade, swim with no life jacket or other life saving device, knows his alphabet, numbers past 20, and on and on. He zones out allot, and he will talk to himself, and refers to himself as a third person contantly. like instead of saying, I would like a cookie, he will say his name, wants a cookie. You can't always tell my looking at a person if they have this, sometimes it is very obvious, and other times, like in my sons case, you have to wait till it "rears it's ugly head", he has it all the time of course but it is more aparent at times then at others. There are lots of information on it on the web. Personally I did not find this helpful with my strugle to understand it at all. No, there is cure that I know of. But like I said, don't feel sorry for these people/kids, they are all special. Like someone born with a deformity, or no sight, they don't need pitty, just understanding so they are not made fun of. Bless you for wanting to actually know about this disease and trying to understand it.

Do drugs and alcohol show up on liver function test?

OK, The reason you need your liver functions tested is because many medications can effect the liver just like alcohol. The blood test is not checking for what drugs are in your system, only how your liver is doing. If your concern is wanting to keep your drug use confidential, having this blood test will not identify the drugs in your system.
On another note-if you are a heavy drinker and have been for some time, your liver enzymes may be elevated. If your test comes back abnormal -it is time to come clean with your doctor.

Have the blood work done and see what happens.

Can i still drink non alcoholic beer when my liver function test was abnormal due to drinking real beer?

Actually, yes. Your liver function was abnormal due to drinking real beer. I don't know how heavy of a drinker you were, but the alcohol content in "real" beer is more than the small tidbit you'd find in the non-alcoholic beverages. Studies have shown that if people who have liver problems due to alcohol can limit their intake to no more than one beer a day, they will not usually get any worse. However, most people who are use to drinking more than that can't limit it. Thus, enter the "non alcoholic" beer. It would take about 5 or more of these to be the equivalent of one actual beer, so you can drink it. I wouldn't drink more than 4 or 5 a day, just to make absolutely sure the alcohol content didn't build, but you should be OK with drinking some non alcoholic beer if you just want the taste or enjoyment of having a "beer". Of course, if you can give it all up and drink healthier beverages like juices, water, and Gatorade, or make yourself a fruit smoothie, etc, it would be the best thing for you, but I know that giving up something you like to drink is a hard thing for a lot of people to do, so this is the next best thing. Good Luck with it, and I hope your liver functions improve as you stay away from the "real beer"!
