Am I Too Old To Play Online Games How Do I Stop

Should I stop playing video games? I'm 19.?

There is nothing wrong with not playing single player.

To me personally single player mode of some games is more of a tutorial mode. Use it but only if you do not already know how to play a game & want to learn (I don’t wanna say if your noob as that might sound mean but then it depends on the game too).

If you like video & PC games it’s totally fine.

Unless for some reason your one of those kinds of people that lets these games take over your life. By this I mean you start to neglect the following in life:

School
Work
Family
Friends
Etc.

If that’s not the case then your fine

If it is however then a break wouldn’t kill ya

What age should I stop playing videogames?

As long as you have a good job are paying your way in life, who cares? My husband is 42 & loves video games, he is VERY into some of them. But he has a job(never misses work, volunteers for OT)but on his days off after the yard work or honey-do's thats what you will find him doing! He has one friend & his son who he plays his golf(Tiger Woods) & another friend & son who play the Medal of Honor & Sniper games with him.
Some men fish & hunt, some men drink beer, some men collect & restore old classic cars, some men chase women(some are married)so do what YOU like-there are always worse things you could be doing.
It is one of the secrets to a good life-doing what you like in moderation(as long as you do what needs to be done first-makes you a GOOD man. Get new friends or convince them they are NEVER TOO OLD to be young-its what keeps you healthy to an old age!

What is a way to stop playing online games?

Hi Alex,Thanks for reaching out and explaining your situation.First, its very hard to move countries (I have done it a few times) and its completely understandable as to why you feel stressed and probably quite lonely. As a result we all turn to behaving in a way that can either reinforce our state of mind, or worsen it out of a sense of being out of control and slightly desperate - I too have done and known many others to revert to destructive behavioural patterns to compensate the sensation of stress and loneliness.Firstly: Whatever negative feeling you have, you can feel assured that you are in control and can change your state of behaviour and mind! YOU have developed a negative habit based on attempting to compensate something you are trying to balance.Secondly: Ask yourself what it is you feel you are missing in your daily life, is it human contact? love? physical contact? physical activity? stimulation? because your addiction is a direct result to you attempting to fill the void of what you feel you are missing. Stress is then emphasised, but it is because you feel you are missing something that you are behaving destructively. SO the first thing is to identify what that is!Thirdly: Try to distract yourself from your weakness of turning to online gambling by filling your time with maybe contacting a friend? try joining a group such as We are what we do | Meetup or going along to a local class in your area, for maybe dance, book group, whatever interests you have. Its important to fill the time you have with any other positive activities other than online gambling.Habits are hard to change, but with strong will and support you can relearn a new habit and change your life. Also there is light at the end of the tunnel, your degree will come to an end and you will then have more time and abilities to build a strategy to go after your life dreams.I hope my few suggestions have offered you some support and I am more than happy to speak via skype, just contact me through www.lovingyou.onlineI hope you feel better and know you will get through this, there is hope, this is not a permanent state and just seeking advice means you half way to solving your frustrating state.Anyway I hope to learn of your thoughts and hear from you soon Alex.

How do u stop game lag?

game lag is caused by several things.

1. Internet Connection speed. if your internet is slow you will lag. use some sort of high speed to minimize this.

2. RAM. if you don't have enough then it can be slow. even with good internet speed. it cant make use of it.

3. Graphics card. if your graphics card cant keep up with whats going on in the game you will lag so you may want a good one

you can go to control panel and system settings to see RAM and processor speed. if you then click the hardware tab and click device manager you should be able to view your video card and such.

as for reducing it, try lowering the detail levels in the game.

for things you can buy to help go with new ram/graphics card/internet service. or you can buy a new computer. preferablly one designed for gaming.

ok longest explaination ever. i probablly overdid it. good luck with this

How do I stop my PC from lagging when playing pc games?

Your system sounds like it is not up to par to play the games you are trying to play
it is likely the graphics or the memory.
For graphics to play most games you need a graphics card added to your system most computers come with a onboard graphics and this does not play games well You can upgrade the card for 100.00 to 150.00 or more and get a fairly good graphics card and pay someone 40.00 or so to install it or install yourself you can find step by step directions on line

Or it may be memory if your system has a graphics card in it than i would add more memory
2 GB or 3 GB is best especially if you are running Windows Vista as your operating system.
To run 4 GB you must have a 64 bit operating system so do not waste money on 4 GB's of memory unless you intend on upgrading your operating system,

There is a site that lets you tests you system for all sorts of games and it will tell you what is needed to make it work great on your machine.
run the test and see what it says for the games you have tried.
it will give the bare basics which honestly in many cases cause lag. and it gives a higher one that is the one i would go with

I am 15 and I use to play games a lot but I stopped and now I don't know what to do. I'm shy. I don't know what to do.any advice?

There are so many things you can do. It depends on your goals, dreams and the things you like to do. I am shy too, but past 2 or 3 years I have had to step out of my comfort zone so many times, that it has really helped me to control my shyness and to speak up. I even decided to make a fashion collection all about getting out of comfort zone, lol. :)When I was 15 years old I had a vision of myself being a fashion stylist and having my own fashion label, nothing unusual, but I didn’t do anything about it. It was just a vision. But after high school everything changed, I changed, and I started to do something to actually achieve what I have dreamed of. Everything takes time. Now, I am working on my fashion label I feel so passionate about, puting all my energy and effort into creating something I have always dreamed of to create..I finally understand that there is a chance to achieve my dream. It took me some years to realise what I want to do.But the best advice I can give you is to enjoy life, do something fun with your friends, continue to play video games and don’t worry so much. And when you truly find something you love to do, keep it and realize it.P.S. When I was 15 years old I used to play dress up games, and I still play when I have a free time.. :)I hope that I answered your question. :)Have a fun day!

I am too addicted to online games. How do I get rid of it and play it only in my leisure time?

Your best bet would be to get away from a while. Go on a week vacation somewhere, go camping, go on a cruise, but leave the technology at home. When you get home, don’t go right back into it.They say it takes 21 days to break a bad habit, so basically the week away will be like a detox, and the next 2 weeks won’t be as hard. After that, play sporadically, only when you have free time. Set time limits for the day(you could use child settings to limit the amount of time you could spend on a computer each day, and maybe give somebody besides you the password so you can’t ignore it).If all of this fails, and you keep going back, either try again, or realize that you might be incapable of playing videogames responsibly. All of this is from a general addiction outlook. Somebody else who has actually had the same problem might be able to help you more. I’ve never been addicted to video games, i do binge quite often when i get a new game that I’m really into, and could easily spend 10–12 hours straight playing for the first few days, but its more of a choice than an addiction. I go days, and sometimes weeks without playing when I don’t have anything interesting to play, or feel like wasting money on something I’m not super into… so I can’t exactly relate to you, but I have gone through and recovered from drug addiction and the best thing for you is just time away from it.Since you wan’t to play occasionally, however, the abstinence method of most other addictions don’t apply, but like I said, if you can’t play responsibly, you might have to abstain permanently, getting rid of gaming quality PCs and any systems in your house, and only having a basic computer for non-gaming related activities. As with any addiction, there is no easy answer, and it WILL be difficult, but also like any addiction, it gets easier.China has a lot of video game addicts, and has state run rehabs for such. While they probably methods that most democratic nations wont, I bet Japan or South Korea has the same programs, and might be a little more liberal in their execution. Maybe look them up and find some information about what exactly they do, and if it actually works or not.

How do I hide that I am online playing Facebook game apps?

I am set Offline 24/7. I don't want people to know when I get online. On other friends news feeds sometimes it will tell them what app I am using even if I haven't posted anything from using the app. Also Facebook added a game news feed to the upper right corner that posts when anyone is using a game. How do I hide both so that no one knows I am online playing games on Facebook? I know that for the new feature I can cancel my status about me playing a game, but that's already too late where someone will see. Help will be greatly appreciated :)

Why do 50 year old people still play video games?

I agree with Tom. And I would like to add that it is already the largest and most lucrative form of entertainment in the world, being a larger industry and making more money every year than movies do by quite a wide margin. An industry so massive is not thanks to parents catering to their children. It's because people of all ages and all places enjoy playing them.

Recently, there's been a study that reveals that elderly people (ages 60 and up) who play videogames regularly have a better sense of well being. To put it simply: Elderly people who play videogames are less depressed.

^And there could be further benefits for people at this age too.

Either way. There is no age that is too old for videogames. It is a hobby like many other.
