Am I Using Too Many Products For My Acne

Do I use too many skincare products for my face?

On my face I use
Face wash: Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash. Twice daily
Toner: Neutrogena Oil a limiting. After every time I wash my face
Moisturizer: Vaseline Intistive Rescue for dry skin. Nightly And Body Shop tea tree akin clearing lotion. every morning.
spot treatment. Neutrogena rapid clear spot treatment gel. Nightly

Does using too many skincare products damage your skin?

Nope, as long as you're not using those things excessively every day, you'll be good. Beware that it may possibly cause some dryness if the products are strong, and if your skin doesn't reach well with the product, you might break out from using them often. Otherwise, that sounds all good! I do a similar routine as well, and my skin is fine.

I'm so sick of having acne... Idk what to do!!?

It makes me so mad how people have PERFECT skin in my grade (sophomore) when they are teenagers!!! How can they NOT have pimples? It makes me really jealous.. I really just wanna know when my acne will go away? Do you grow out of it?

Its not like REALLY bad and red and blotchy, its just like a bunch of little red pimples that i have to use coverup for..

Why do people have perfect skin and NEVER get pimples?
I tried pro active, i tried literally EVERYTHING.. whats the next step?

How do I make my acne go away? I've tried so many different products over a long period of time. What should I try? Nothing seems to be working.

The thing about acne is to keep your pores clean.Gently wash acne area with washcloth, Ivory soap when area is dirty or oily. Then apply 5% or 10% benzoyl peroxide cream on pimples.Never squeeze pimples causes scars.Never squeeze blackheads causes more pimples by clogging pores.Try a clay face mask, once or twice a week.Stay away. from eating fried foods , pantries anything with a lot of sugar.Eat fruits, vegetables, baked goods and drink plenty of water.Sleep well.Try not to stress out too much.Do low impact exercises like walking, swimming, Tai Chi , yoga, stationary bike, slow dancing, bowling , lift light weights etc.If acne is real bad see a skin doctor/dermatologist.

How do i get rid of my pimples!I have tried so many products and things and the pimples just get worse.?

As a dermatologist, i recommend [Retin-A 0.05% USP] to most of my patients who are not compatible with Benzoyl Peroxide. This is a prescription medication so you will need doctor's approval. I recommend to you the Retin-A, there is a stronger version of it which is Retin-A micro. So please, talk to your doctor or dermatologist for this prescription. As far as "over-the-counter" medication like the ones you described, those contains [Benzoyl Peroxide 10%] and [Salicylic Acid 2%] which you're probably not compatible with and it keeps coming back. I don't recommend the method of "popping" because i know majority of us wants to get rid of it that way. But, the truth is, the method of popping will lead to scars.

The best I would suggest is to use to get rid of scars is [Lustra]Hydroquinone cream USP 4%, some people might not be compatible with this product but my son has been using it and after 1 month there was a huge improvement in skin balance. The Cream itself is recommended that you do buy one WITH SUNSCREEN. This cream is design so that your skin will have natural peeling after 2-3 days. This is a prescription medication so you will need to talk to a dermatologist. I cannot tell you that it will work for you because I am a dermatologist, but not YOUR dermatologist.

Your diet and the things you eat is a small factor that leads to acne. Most people believe what they eat is what affects them. Puberty maybe one, but the truth is... Yes, food is a small factor that contributes to the growing of acne if you are an adult and still have acne. Also, it is genetic factors. With it being genetics the alternative is laser treatment but most genetic cases are found in adults 21+.

How long does acne last?

That is a really difficult question to answer, because there are so many factors involved in acne. There is some research that suggests the hormones found in dairy products and a western diet in general may be a factor, but there are many others. Hormones, heredity, greasy cosmetics, stress, humid polluted climates, irritation to the skin, chafing, and squeezing pimples all can contribute to acne. People make all kinds of suggestions about the best thing to do to cure acne. Some cures I’ve heard include putting oatmeal, honey, lemon juice, tea tree oil, cucumber, vinegar, milk of magnesia or toothpaste on your face. Practically every cosmetics company and company that makes personal care products makes something that is a “sure cure” for acne. If we think about this, and use some common sense, we have to come to the conclusion that there is no quick or easy cure for acne, because if there was it would be well known and doctors would be telling everyone about it. Numerous companies make a lot of money persuading people to buy products that at worst will make the acne worse, and at best may help some people a little. Often fewer products are better. People often make their acne much worse by using too many products. There really is no quick fix for acne. Don’t spend a lot of money on products just because their ads say that they will cure acne. Your doctor is the best person to ask for help, and he or she may recommend some prescription medication or non-prescription treatment that may be suitable for you.. There are some very simple and basic things you can do that cost nothing. Keep your face or any other area affected by acne very clean. Any mild antibacterial soap will help with that. Rinse the area well to remove all soap residue. Drink plenty of water – it really does help to clear up acne. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. A healthy life style will make a difference. Try to reduce the stress in your life – stress contributes to acne, so also probably the more you worry about the acne and focus on it, the worse it will be. Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. Read Mor : Best Acne Treatment
