RE:

This department only contacts u through email, and amazon says that they have no email address and i know that they do, there is no way there is a department in a company, and they have no freakin phone number that is impossible.

Is Amazon Payments a scam?

100% SCAM

There is NO such thing as Amazon Payments. Amazon ONLY is involved in sales that are listed ON AMAZON.com (not Craigslist) and you pay on Amazon.com's checkout page. They do not handle any car sales. The Amazon warehouse only holds books and other small items (DVDs, books, etc) NOT cars. Car sales are not allowed on Amazon. Amazon does not allow a 10 day inspection period on anything. Amazon does not hold funds for any reason.

It costs $2000 to ship a car so there is now way anyone could sell it for $1920 including shipping or they are losing money. If they really had this car with that mileage they could walk into any dealer and get $6000 cash in hand if they really owned the car.

Craigslist is ONLY for face to face CASH transactions or you are always being scammed. There are NO exceptions to this. Any time you cannot see the car, test drive it, have the mechanic of your choice inspect it AND verify in person that the seller's license matches the name on the title, do not even think of buying it. You are either sending money to a Nigerian scammer who copied pictures off of AutoTrader or another site (as in this case), buying a lemon that will need $3000+ worth of work, or buying a stolen vehicle which you won't discover until you go to register it and it gets taken from you

Is this the car? http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/ctd/36... -- here it's in Atlanta
It's listed all over the country
Baton Rouge http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/ctd/367...
Miami http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/ctd/3650...
San Francisco http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ctd/3659389129.html
In fact it's listed hundreds of times in different cities (Chicago, Memphis, Richmond, New Jersey) often with different email addresses. Report this ASAP to Craigslist as Prohibited so they can remove the post

This questions has already been answered. Please visit the link below.Does amazon.com pay its employees monthly or biweekly in the USA?Thanks

When do you usually get your first pay check?

It depends on a few small circumstances.

1. How long is the pay period, weekly, or bi-weekly?
2. Did you start the job in the middle of the current pay period, at the beginning of the pay period, or at the end of the current pay period?
3. How many initial weeks of pay does the employer withhold, one week or two?

If you started last week, at the beginning of the pay period, and the pay period is bi-weekly, and the employer only witholds the first week of pay, you should get your first paycheck for your first week of work at the end of next week.

If the pay period is weekly, and the employer only witholds the first weeks pay, you should get a paycheck next week also for your first week of work.

If the pay period is bi-weekly, and you started at the beginning of the pay period and the employer witholds only one week of pay, you should get a paycheck next week also, but for only the first week of work.

If the pay period is bi-weekly and you started in the middle of the pay period, you won't get paid untill the end of the next pay period, but should get paid for two weeks of work, because the first week of work will be witheld.

If the pay period is bi-weekly and you started at the end of the pay period and the employer witholds the first week of work, you will get paid at the end of the next pay period for two weeks of work.

I know it sounds confusing, and it is, your best answer will come from your employer. You should ask your manager.

Asking after you are hired and still working is appropriate.  If I found someone had slipped through the hiring process without signing one, it would be a condition of continued employment.   Reading the comment to an answer, you say you are first being asked one day before your internship ends and they are threatening to withhold pay if you don t sign.  There are two issues to consider.  First legal.  Second career.  Legally, in CA, they cannot withhold earned pay if you choose not to sign.  Other issues aside (since I have not seen the agreement), they would have to give you something they did not already owe you (consideration) to make the agreement valid.  You are calling it a non compete, but given you are young and an intern, I am not sure you are not referring to a confidentiality and inventions assignment, more typical in CA (no, post employment non compete is not legally enforceable in  CA).The next issue is career.  Obviously, you are not making any friends here and this is only an internship.  Sounds like that is too late to repair anyway, so I am not sure it matters.  It may have been worth your while to sign to be on good terms, but I haven't seen the agreement and don't know what state you are in.

If you started out the same and you still think that all things being equal, you get stellar reviews, and you are not paid as much then you have a right to ask why. You have me curious, I'd like to know the answer.Previous answer but before you do, do some self reflection and carefully think about why that could be.  Be very honest with yourself and keep an open mind when you talk to your boss.  Perhaps you will find out there are some self improvement goals you can undertake,   I don't know you but I will say there are a lot of very talented people who have a noticeable personality trait that holds them back and it is just the way things work, that people like this are mostly unaware of their problem.Previous answer:It could very well be that this is one of those things that happens during the hiring process.  Some people, for various reasons, are hired in at a higher salary creating an inequality with his or her peers; it is usually not anything to do with discrimination.  The important question for you is: is your salary increasing to catch you up?   In either case you will want to talk with your manager, but before you walk into your manager's office make a list of your accomplishments and think about why you deserve a better salary.  I like what Leah is saying, do not be critical of your colleague.   It could be that your colleague has some skills or background that you are not aware of including social skills.  Present your case and mention that you are aware of inequities in pay; remember you are not supposed to know about them!

Paypal question about payments?

If you are selling something on a site like Craigslist, Kijiji, etc there are several common variations of the Craigslist/Paypal scam
1 - this article explains the most common version which uses a spoofed email that only looks like it's from Paypal http://www.el-jefe.org/2009/12/lesson-1-...
2 - a version of #1 but the fake Paypal email will be for MORE than you asked for and you will be asked to wire the balance to the "shipper" or some other person through Western Union or Moneygram
3 - they pay with a hacked paypal account hoping you ship the item before the real account holder discovers the theft, reports it to Paypal and they withdraw the money from your account
4- Paypal ONLY protects you if YOU arrange the shipping to the buyer's verified address. Scammers know this but hope you don't. So they pay with their account then either send a "shipper" (scammer using another fake name) to pick up the item or they have you send to a father/son/cousin/etc overseas. Then once they have the item or you have sent it, they file a dispute with Paypal claiming their email and Paypal accounts have been hacked and there is an unauthorised transaction. Paypal contacts you asking for proof of delivery to the buyer's verified address. You won't have this as the scammer either picked up from you or shipped to an unverfied address, and Paypal refunds the money and the scammer keeps your item and resells it for cash
5 - With electronic items, scammers who have broken/damaged items scour the internet for the same make/model in other cities. They buy your item, pay with Paypal, then file a chargeback claiming the item doesn't work. They send you their broken one back and paypal refunds their money

And if you are selling on a site like Amazon or Ebay you NEVER give your Paypal details to anyone. That's why you use these sites - to protect your account. They pay on Ebay or Amazon's checkout page and Amazon or Ebay transfers the money to your account -- the buyer does not pay you directly

You, American! Can you answer me about this?

Hello again!
I'm Brazilian and I can tell you I'm curious to know the thoughts of the people, mainly if they're from another country. Because of the cultures and the variety of things...
We see and we know that unfortunately there's the racism. And we won't deny that there is a prejudice of SOME people of the North Countries against the people of the South Countries.
We ("Latinos") feel the prejudice, mainly with the immigration policy of the United States of America. I know you have all the rights to do this. It's for your security and everything else...
But this prejudice goes beyond the legal rights of a country. We can see it in the movies, musics etc.
Recently I come watching the Ugly Betty here in Brazil and I know one of the biggest targets is pointing the prejudice that there is with "Latinos".
I've seen also, a news in one of the journal of here that there is a local radio in a city next Chicago - IL that their wish is: "Brazilians get out of here!"
We are responsible for part of the economy of the U.S. together with the Americans, Indians, Arabs etc...mainly in the South part of the U.S.A.
I just want to know:

P.S.: I'd like that just the AMERICANS above the age of 18 (EIGHTEEN) answered these questions! I'd like that you put WHERE ARE YOU FROM (CITY + STATE). It will help me to see the different points of view of each person.

1) What do you think about "Latinos"?
2) What do you think about the immigration policy of the United States?
3) Does it earn a reformulation of the laws?
4) Why is there this prejudice with us?
5) What do you hate in Latinos?
6) What do you like and/or love in Latinos?
7) What the opinion of the majority of relatives, parents and friends/ boyfriend (girlfriend) about Latinos?

My objective here IS NOT to criticize the Americans or the United States. Anyway, I like your culture and your way to live (after Brazil, for sure)!

Thanks so much!
