Ankle Joint Small Fracture Maybe

What causes bone fractures to itch?

Mine too.. I have a broken collar bone (left clavicle) and it itches so much.. I even have small blisters.. they do not hurt though.. maybe it is due to inflammation as Anubhab says.. here is what the internet came up with:In Chinese medicine, the healing process of fractures is divided into three distinctive stages, each lasting about two weeks: 1. Acute Stage This stage occurs during the first and second weeks after the fracture takes place. The first seven days are accompanied by acute pain and swelling. A pool of blood is created from broken blood vessels around the bone. This pool of blood starts to produce bone cells within the first seven days. In the second week, the bone starts to knit. This process can cause discomfort and itching, especially at night. 2. Knitting stage This stage occurs during the third and fourth weeks after the fracture takes place and continues the processes started during the acute phase. As bone cells continue to be formed, so does the bone knitting. Even though the affected bone may have completed knitting by the fourth week, it will likely remain flexible and soft at the point of the fracture. 3. Complete Healing This stage occurs during the fifth and sixth week after the fracture occurs. If the person is healthy and the break is one of the less complicated types of breaks, then the affected bone has most likely regained it’s strength and solidity as the sixth week draws to a close. On the other hand, complete healing of severe and complicated breaks can take longer. Of course, appropriate treatment immediately following the break and thereafter can greatly expedite the fracture healing process. Here is where I got it from: Fractures, Fracture Healing and Types of Fractures

Why does my ankle hurt when it rains?

i fractured my growth plate in my ankle about 1 year ago. then, as soon as it was healed, i stress fractured it, in the same spot . The orthapedic dr. told me that it was healed, but may hurt acasionally. It always hurts really bad when it is raining or right before it rains. please tell my why it only hurts during or before rain. sorry for any spelling errors. I predict that there is a huge rain storm comming!

Is it normal to be able to crack your ankle constanlty after you have sprained it?

one day i was playing on a trampoline and when i landed i sprained it completely backwards like under my leg..i didn't break it though. and then when i got home it was the size of an apple..i think a little larger..the next day it was completely down like nothing had happened.i didnt even feel hardly any pain the next day.and after tht day i have been able to pop my ankle.like not how you crack your knuckles or etc.but like when i move it around in a circular motion"counterclockwise" it pops everytime.and the bone itself is bigger than the bone on my left foot. i was wondering if that was normal or not.please answer. :)

My rat's rear right leg is swollen completely below the ankle?

I've experienced this many times before (what rat owner hasn't?) Rats have very special ways of getting themselves hurt, but this honestly sounds like something you will be able to handle without the help of a vet. Just follow these instructions and your little one will be fine. The best immediate treatment is a cold compress to help prevent swelling. If the leg is just swollen and there is no breakage of the skin, you can try an anti-inflammatory drug. I have frequently treated rat injuries with ibuprofen. You can use children's liquid (the berry flavor seems to be popular with rats) or you can grind up a tablet and mix it in a soft tasty food. When using the liquid ibuprofen, I recommend giving the rat a tasty treat afterwards to mask any bitter aftertaste that will cause the rat to refuse future doses. If you use a tablet, only use just under a quarter of the pill once a day. Liquid form, only a drop a day. Also, if the leg is broken, certainly use the ibuprofen and cold compress, and try to get your rat to rest (difficult, but try, haha). Most broken legs can heal on their own, even breaks near the ankle joint that are floppy.

My only other recommendation is to make sure that your rat is no longer in a cage with a wire bottom (I'm assuming that's what you have.) They are very unsafe. You should never house a rat in a cage that has a wire bottom. Having wire walls is great, but there needs to be some solid surface in the cage so as to prevent injuries and bumblefoot.
