What is yandere in anime?
Term “yandere” comes from words “yanderu” (“being sick”) and “deredere” (tired” or “lovesick”). So, basically yandere is sweet and lovely, at first, but in time their love towards someone will twist and distort in brutal way. This could include manipulation, isolation, kidnapping, and even killing their “rivals” and -sometimes - love interest out of jealousy or what not.Yandere is a trope that you see here and there - so of course, there’s plenty of characters like that. Usually female, but there are some rare male yandere’s as well.However, the most infamous example about this character type has to be Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki.She looks sweet and innocent, but don’t let the looks fool you. This girl is crazy for her Yuki. So much so that she is ready to kill even a child (and planned to kill Yuki’s mom, bceuase she thought she wouldn’t appreciate her and Yuki relationship. She also manipulated Yuki to kill his friends, and kidnap and isolate him to keep him safe (and for herself). So you want yandere characters that are found in animes? I think I can think of a few, but keep in mind that unlike school days, higurashi and blood-C, not all of them will be serious. -Shuffle!: there is a girl named Kaede that's the childhood friend of the main character and she's a yandere. The anime can seem quite light hearted and funny, but it gets serious. -Baka to test to shoukanjuu: an anime centralized on comedy and they use the yandere characterization as one of the sources of the comedy. The girl named Himeji Mizuki is a yandere and there's a lot more personalities found too, such as the tsundere...but don't worry...it's not an extreme tsundere and most people like her. -Mirai Nikki: It's a manga, but an OVA was also made a few years back, but it was pretty bad compared to the manga. Luckily, the anime tv series is coming out soon and I suggest you watch it when it airs, because the storyline is pretty good. The female lead is known to be the most famous yandere girl...Gasai Yuno is basically the ideal yandere girl and I don't think there's anyone that can top her in terms of that XD. 11eyes: this anime wasn't scored very well by viewers, but since you watched blood-c, you might want to give this a try. Yuka Minase is the yandere in this anime....can't say anything else other than a brief synopsis that's about regular school students that are suddenly forced in the world of the Red Night...sounds interesting, but I'll let you figure out how good it is yourself.
Good Yandere Animes?
Ok so before you say any recommendations, i wanted to say that i have some requirements that it has to be xD. Im very picky which is bad but I'm sorry in advance. 1. The anime has to be sort of new, at least 720p and it has to be somewhat clean animation. So, somewhat crisp animation nothing bad. 2. Yandere- someone (girl) who is prone to kill anyone who may interfere with her obsessive passion for the series protagonist. 3. Iv seen mirai nikki, guilty crown, and Elfen Lied. 4. I want a somewhat mirai nikki type of opening, where the girl is sweet and cute but later changes. 5. No meccha, i dont think there even is any out there that use meccha in it but just in cases.

Like a psycho girl ... who is obsessed with a guy.... like crazy obsessed. like that crazy ex that stalks you , calls you a 1am etc.... plus when she gets jealous kills any people who flirts with the guys she likes... Future Diary- One of the most popular yanderes, Yuno Gasai, is in this anime. She loves the main character, Yukiteru Amano, and will pretty much do anything for him (despite her actions later in the series). She’ll take any love she can get from him even if it’s one sided or fake. Also, she may be devoted to him but she isn’t stupid. Matter of fact, she can be quite the strategist from what I remember.Higurashi- Also known as When They Cry, this anime is well known for a certain gory scene and the character responsible for it. This character is Shion Sonozaki. I don’t know much about this anime because I haven’t seen it myself but I do know that Shion is pretty freaking crazy… (The image below is probably one of her most popular ones.)School Days- Well, I’m pretty sure a lot of you have heard of this one. Apparently, Katsura Kotonoha and Saionji Sekai are both yanderes. And they might not even be the only ones. (I’ve heard some crazy crap about School Days… It’s not as it seems.)No.6- I’m not sure if this counts. I’ve never really considered the main character, also named Shion, to be a yandere…but I think he might be considered a male one. There are only like 1 or 2 times when he acts like this… Then again, I guess he fits the bill now that I think about it.(I’ve only heard of and seen a few anime with characters that I see as yanderes so…my list ends here.)
